This is our favorite spot! My now, fiancé proposed here! The food is great for the price and the specials are always wonderful! Staff is so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and we always leave bellies full and quite satisfied. Outdoor patio is charming and relaxing. High recommended.

A nice little breakfast joint. A really good atmosphere with great service. Has good specialty meals. I Always get pancakes with a side of sausage or toast.

Always have a solid experience here. My favorite touch is serving raw greens with many of the egg options. The only thing is, I always forget to ask for those greens on the side. They default come served under the hot omelets which leaves them cooked and limp by the time I rescue them. My fault, I know this and I always forget to ask. Their Irish omelet comes as it should, smothered in hollandaise. It’s very good. I actually really like their home fries(not usually a fan). Not over seasoned or soggy. Their veggie omelet had a good mix of plant matter In Them. I appreciate a good mix of plant matter, see previous appreciation of raw greens. They have a selection of hot sauces. Three that I can eyeball. I hate tobasco only establishments. Overall, I dig them but they are out of my usual way so I always forget they are around! The service is fast, friendly and professional. No quirk but none really needed.

Food is consistently good. Staff is friendly and the cook owner is very hospitable. Some say it’s a little pricey but there aren’t many options for breakfast in SW. We will go back for sure.

Let’s see I love this place but my experience today was embarrassing and disrespectful. So our waitress seemed annoyed with us from the moment we walked in, she was rushing us along and not really giving even decent service, she had an attitude anytime we asked for something including straws. We just stopped asking for anything finished our food paid and left. Because her service was shotty we left a horrible tip, which should’ve been nothing but I was being nice cause I know how it is. To bad as we walked out she announced how much our tip was to the whole restaurant!!! As if she was going to get something amazing for having a bad attitude and a scowl on her face. I liked eating here but after that never again. Word of advice to her better service equals better tip. I don’t tip based on my bill sorry but no, I tip based on server and you gave less then $ 5 service but I was feeling generous. Oh the 1 stars is for they food they have the best blueberry pancakes ever!!! That I’ll never have again smh. Also would like to add even though I hate to play the race card, but a touch of racism was surely in the mix.

I have only had The Red Cabin as take out which is never as good as in person, but because I work down the road it works out. We have ordered lunch and breakfast everyone at work enjoys everything. Their salads are amazing and the cabin mess is top notch. Keep up the good work!

I love this place! Super friendly, unpretentious, fast service and a great breakfast/lunch spot. 5 stars because so many restaurants either don’t or can’t do a decent breakfast anymore. And, it’s one of a kind — not another soulless franchise. Will definitely go back.

a home-y feel, breakfast spot with quick service. my family and I went on a Saturday morning, got seated immediately and were given menus right away. Food came out within 15 minutes of ordering. Everything tasted fresh.

Terrible Terrible Terrible… this place wouldn’t even make for a good Soup Kitchen… we went for breakfast and was seated right away but after waiting 30 minutes and drinking swamp water masked as coffee and seeing patrons who came after us receiving food I decided to walk out., fortunately for them my husband took the food as takeout as it was just finally coming out… unfortunately for us we attempted to eat it… HORRENDOUSAWFULDISGUSTING and it was lukewarm… no taste whatsoever I thought I would need dentures after trying to eat the steak and how can you really mess up French toast??? Like I told the owners in the email I sent them I probably would have had a better time eating out of a Taco Bell dumpster… never going back… like ever… that food went directly in the trash UPDATE…First of all Laura why did you«give» me extra food? I definitely didn’t ask for it… I came for breakfast not freebies The question you should be asking is who just gives away food? You do because the service and the food was terrible… I waited 30 not 20 minutes for food while patrons who came after us were served… well done does not mean tough and disgusting… but really how do you ruin French toast? Why are you serving weak warm coffee? Why after waiting 30 minutes is the food lukewarm? Why did the food magically appear once we were walking out and only wanted to pay for the coffee we were served? Why as an owner present in the business place did you allow this to happen? Why didn’t you come over and converse with us before we walked out? You thought my assumptions about it being a race thing were disgusting.. Well guess what it can join your food because it was disgusting terrible and awful just like you defending the trash you pass off as food instead of trying to fix it… this is not your first bad review and I’m sure it won’t be your last

Nothing fancy just good breakfast every time. Spinach omelette with cheddar, onions, and sausage. Crushed it. They are so friendly and consistent. 2 things I love.

Came here today with one of my best friends for a late breakfast/early lunch(depending on what they were still serving). Our server informed us that breakfast was served all day, so we both got the Quatro: two eggs, four slices of french toast, home fries, and a choice of meat. I got mine with corned beef hash; my friend got hers with kielbasa. It was all very delicious, and it was a tough choice to pick! Everything looked great on the menu. My only complaint was that it was pretty warm inside the restaurant even with the ceiling fans running and door propped open, what with these hot temps making a comeback, so air conditioning would’ve been nice. Otherwise, it’s a great little local place that I’m happy to have discovered in my hometown. Can’t wait to go back when it cools off and try their lunch items. :)

I’m on a quest for the best breakfast in the Greater Hartford area and Red Cabin in South Windsor now sits right at the top. Friendly staff(although they do need to offer coffee refills without being asked), near I84 and Evergreen Walk mall; great food, with interesting combo’s, especially the skillets. Check out their website for the menu. Very reasonably proced 4 and ½ stars.

Love this place. Come almost every weekend. Great food, huge omelets, staff is friendly, and the chef/owner frequently takes time to say hi to everyone and ask how their meal is.

In response to the co-owner Laura Pineo: This is absolutely not a false or «malicious» review by a «young person». I am 23 years old and have lived in town for years. This review is based on actual experiences at your restaurant having gone once earlier this year(for a simple order of home fries) and a few times throughout 2010 – 2012 before with family and friends. Why would I go through the trouble to create a false review? This is based on my severe disappointment with the food, atmosphere and I would say the majority of the people employed. I was kicked out before merely for stopping in to ask for a cup of water a couple years ago. Along with being shouted at and threatened with cops by the owner Todd(and 2 other employees on different occasions) for merely being outside near or on the picnic tables for a few minutes. It’s no surprise that you’re threatening with the authorities in your response as it seems to be the general theme of your restaurant. Putting the authorities on notice for a review? I am sorry, but that is literally insane.

We have been coming every Sunday for 2.5 years — since our daughter was 18 months old. It’s a great place for breakfast in the morning and a great place to bring kids. Food is served quickly and is hot! The specials are creative and very flavorful. Yesterday I had the most amazing caramel apple pancakes!

Service is slow, coffee is bitter, food is greasy and poorly prepared. They even have the nerve to serve FROZEN friggin waffles, if I wanted Eggos I would have stayed home! And when you complain little to nothing is done to fix it! And their loyalty program is a joke, you get your card stamped but if you forget your card and they start a new one they won’t transfer the punch onto the old card because the dates are out of order, give me a friggin break! Defanitly will not return!

The Red Cabin reminds me of a little breakfast place I used to go to when I was in college. After a long night of flip cup, kings, boozeasaurus, and riding the bus with my good friend Bud Light, I could think of nothing better than a nice early morning(obviously I did not sleep on these nights) breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns, corned beef hash, toast, coffee, and OJ. I went here this morning after a night of light drinking and a good amount of sleep, so the allure of a butter/grease filled breakfast wasn’t as strong as it has been in the past. Regardless, this place is less than a mile from my dad’s house so I could roll out of bed and be there in 23 seconds. Summary: Fast, diner style service, and good food that comes out quickly. Coffee is cheap, strong, and bottomless. Juice(apple) was good — not a place you’d go if you were looking for a mimosa. I had two eggs over-easy, wheat toast, has browns, and corned beef hash. I was surprised — the corned beef hash didn’t taste or look like the frozen uniformly tasting hash i’ve had before at various breakfast places /hotels. This one was different — and much more delicious. Besides that, everything else on my plate was good — slightly oily, buttery, and doused with ketchup goodness. My lady [who eats all sorts of weird stuff for breakfast] naturally chose to consume a chicken panini — heavy on the buttered toast and a very delicious chipotle mayo. Tasty tasty. Took a peek at the lunch menu myself while I was there — looks like they have a bunch of different sandwiches and other lunch type food, but keep an eye on the clock, they close pretty early.
