This place has the best brunch on the hill! The food is phenomenal, service is excellent and their fresh squeezed mimosas are heavenly!

Hugo’s is great! I love the black lights on the lanes. the music is always awesome. They have new Owners. and you can really tell how much they care about their customers! Nice people. Also, seems like a real destination for birthday parties. And, we love their new menu! it’s very creative. All around a good time! Highly recommend!

Came to Hugo’s to enjoy dinner with my wife and it had a remodel for the worse. Food has gone down hill and found a pack of condoms out of the box by the sink. With kids running around. Felt like I ate at a chuck e cheese with water down food

I’ve been here for several celebration/bowling parties. It’s a cool black-light atmosphere that’s pretty fun. It’s the cleanest bowling place I’ve ever been to. The menu is over-priced for what results. The staff are not friendly, nor attentive unless you are buying drinks. The menu is far from interesting.

I bowled here twice recently(including last night). The atmosphere is excellent and I like the whole black light bowling theme. The beer on tap is also better than most bowling alleys that have just Coors and Budweiser beers. They always have some great IPA’s to select from. We had the huge nacho platter which looked better than it tasted and could have used more toppings but it wasn’t bad either. The staff was friendly as well but by 7pm on a Monday all lanes were filled and the place was hot inside with all those people, and staff was thin per ratio of customers. Both times we bowled we needed a tech to fix an issue with the ball return but hey, the world is an imperfect place.

Hugo;s used to be one of our favorite spots on the South Hill. We used to go there a few times a week because the staff was friendly and they had an outstanding Happy Hour — $ 3 for 14 Hands Wine and $ 2 tacos. Under the new ownership, nobody is friendly and the food and drink are expensive(compared to other places on the South Hill) and they give you a terrible wine pour for the money. We went twice to give them a chance but we won’t be back. The Gumbo is good but overpriced. C’mon Hugo’s you are a dark bowling alley with little else going on. Great place to watch a game but too expensive now! The Website says«New Owners — New Attitude» — problem is you have too much attitude.

Came in to check out the new hugos as they just reopened a week ago. I must say I’m not impressed. Drink prices are a bit more expensive than all the other bars in the area of the south hill. $ 5 well drinks? So we gave them the benifit of the doubt. Drinks were actually pretty good. We tried some of the new food(stuffed mushrooms) for $ 12. Well they brought us 6 mushrooms. At a bar? That’s 2 dollars per mushroom AT A BAR! Needless to say I’m not extremely impressed and will be waiting a bit to return.

First time here and will be my last. Worst service I have ever encountered. Only reason I’m giving two stars is because the food was good. Our waiter was awful! He acted like he didn’t even care we were there. I had to ask 3 times for the cup of coffee we ordered which came after about 20 min went by. Then after he delivered it as he was walking away I had to tell him we were ready order. He said something like ‘oh yeah, I’ll get some paper to write on.’ And was gone for about another 10min. I could understand if the place was busy, but it was not. And we saw 2 other waiters who were there. From my viewpoint there was no reason why we received such terrible service. I will never go back and will not recommend this place to anyone. Bad service out weighs good food in my opinion.

I would like to see the owners/management, pay attention to their Unilocal reviews and do something about the resounding problem with this place… the staff/service. I have been to Hugo’s many, many times, so I feel qualified to give a fair review. It’s an awesome space to bowl in and feels like more of an event, than most other bowling alleys. The food is really good(for a bowling alley)! The service is typically awful. It takes forever to get someone to come down to the lanes to take your food/drink orders and when they finally do, it is generally done with the type of attitude that makes you feel like they are doing you a favor. Overall, I would love this bowling alley, if the service improved.

I will never go to Hugo’s again. I have gone off and on for several years and it hasn’t been wonderful, but last night went with some friends for happy hour — and it was the worst. Our waitress was inattentive and unfriendly. We literally had to flag her down to order drinks — and they were NOT busy. Our table was right next to the waitress stand and the servers were just standing there chatting with each other — not servicing what few customers were there. Ordered Lemon Drops that tasted like powdered sweet and sour mix combined with high fructose corn syrup. They may have just passed a vodka bottle over the top and called it good, because I am certain there was none in the cocktail. The worst was that happy hour ended at 6. We had asked for food menus, but our non-existent waitress never showed up to take our food order, let alone ask us if we’d like to order any happy hour snacks. We ordered, not knowing happy hour had ended and were surprised when our bill arrived that we had been charged full price. Our server brought out the previously mentioned fabulous manager — the rudest and least service-oriented person I have ever seen in the service industry. We explained that we would have ordered during happy hour if our server had been anywhere in the near vicinity, and that we were obliged to flag her down to even place an order at all. We requested that we get the happy hour price instead of full price. Her response? «I am going to do this just this one time, but I will never do this for you again». Our response? Don’t worry — we won’t be back. Ever.

The party planner was unprofessional and did not communicate effectively. We called multiple times and left multiple voicemails and got only one call and text quoting one price and we were charged double the quoted price upon leaving. Cool place but their communication and customer service needs serious work.

As others have said, this is an awesome spot for what they offer and the location, but the service is TERRIBLE. I went in with 4 people to bowl and didn’t see a waitress for 45 minutes. I go to the bar to get a pitcher for our group and mention that we haven’t seen a waitress since we’ve arrived. He tells me «well maybe they haven’t come down because you have an attitude!» OMFG are you kidding me. I DONTEVENHAVEANATTITUDE, IMJUSTFRUSTRATEDWEVEBEENSITTINGAROUNDFOREVERWITHNOSERVICE. What an absolute ass. It’s a fun place, but enter at your own risk.

This was my first Hugo’s experience and I was not impressed. My group and I started in the bar which was fine, our server took care of us and was very polite. We eventually moved to bowling. The atmosphere was eccentric the 90’s music was awesome. However my visit quickly changed… Our server brought out the food and it was terrible. The chicken strips were inedible, if I could even call them strips. The chicken breasts they served as strips were dry and stringy. After a game of bowling we moved back into the bar where our original server, Kayla, took care of us. We told her about the chicken and she sent the manager over. Then we got to meet the wonderful manager TAMI, she was rude and disrespectful. After being condescending and making it seem like it was our fault that the chicken was dry, she threw a gift card on the table. Because that’s exactly what we wanted a gift card so we would come back after being disrespected. I won’t be coming back anytime soon.

TERRIBLE service. My fiancé had a week vacation due to the NBA all star break. We thought –hey let’s go bowling, invite our friends, instead of driving all around Spokane to see everyone. Worst idea. We get there about 5 o’clock, to be told the lanes don’t open until 6, that no one can go to the lanes until 6. That’s fine we will order some food and drinks and wait. They made us feel like we were in the way, so they put us down by the lanes, with out us asking. Never told us we could start bowling(SINCEWEWERETOLDNOONECANBOWLUNTIL6). So…6 comes a long and someone in our group asked«can we bowl?» The guy we asked, asked someone else and the answer was yes. So we bowl, spent at least no less than $ 350 all together on food, lanes shoes and drinks, then a lady comes to tell us we have 10 more minutes, we literally played for 15 mins. I said we just stared bowling, we were told we can’t bowl until 6, we waited. This is what she said to me «our policy says once you’re on the lanes, your time starts». How am I supposed to know your policy??? I didn’t sign any contract, or see any signs, what we were told is different from your policy. I thought I was going to throw her down the lane. A business like yours can’t afford to lose people by the 20’s, you wont last. especially for your over rated prices for some screens and some black lights, with the dirtiest mirrors I’ve ever seen. I might just open my own bowling alley and get this one off South Hill. Show Hugo’s what customer service really is. Save your money for a different bowling alley., she gave us an *extra* 30 mins… to our 15… GETOUTOFHERE.

Went once again. Service was worse. Snooty hosts with inattentive waiters. Prepare to be judged at the front door. The whole experience(besides the bowling) was a lot more stressful it they should’ve been. They really test your patience here. Hugo. I love bowling and I love your lanes. But something’s gotta give! Your staff is driving customers right out the door! Help me help you. I’d be glad to bring unmatched customer service to the table. The current employees just aren’t getting the job done. Sincerely, a Valley or North Bowler.(Best customer service hands down)

I have mixed feelings about this place. I loved everything about Hugo’s EXCEPT the service we got! Not everyone on the staff is bad, it is just inconsistent. My friends and I went on a Sunday night(hospitality night starting at 7) so there was an awesome bowling deal and happy hour prices. A few of us got started at the bar while we waited for the rest of my group and the bartender was great! But when we moved to our lane our server Jordan taking care of us was TERRIBLE! She rarely came by to see how we were doing but walked past us multiple times. One of my friends had to stand in her way at one point to get her attention because we had been waiting so long to get some beers and food. We eventually started to just go all the way up to the bartender to order drinks because our server was so absent and we didn’t want to tip her anymore. And when we did finally get her attention, she acted like we were bothering her or inconveniencing her. In general, I love this bowling alley but our server should not be a server if she doesn’t want to actually wait on people or if she’s incapable of doing so.

This place is just fun! I’ve only been here for bowling and my sister comes here all the time with her hubby and friends(like once a week). Prices are decent. They serve you food and alcohol right at the lane. Its designed to be a fancier bowling alley. They have gambling tables. I can’t remember what they called it but we were here for a cosmic bowling night that they will give you prizes if the announcer calls out for you to hit a certain colored pin or get a strike. This only made me nervous… I’m not good under pressure in bowling by any means… well I’m not good at bowling really. But this did make it a lot of fun! I will be back for sure when I go to visit my sis!

I Really love the atmosphere in here. It’s nice to find a card room that’s upbeat. Bar is fun and has a great draft selection as well as drink selection. I like to try new things. Thursday is .99 cent taco night, i would say fabulous above and beyond for a buck. Menu is different pretty intriguing actually. Staff is awesome, kind and super attentive. New fave — ill def be back.
