Came here with my Mom on a Saturday morning. If you come here on a weekend, it WILLBECROWDED! The parking lot is very small, NOROOMFORANRVANYWHERE! I ordered an omelet, it was very good! I have to RAVE about the hash browns. THEBEST I’VEEVERHAD!!! I have no idea how they cooked those hash browns, but I could have eating a pile of it. My order was $ 8.99 and you got a generous sized omelet, lots of toast and those hash browns! The seating is a bit cozy. They have an upstairs if it’s crowded. My mom said she has been upstairs and doesn’t like it as much. I came here in a car.

I’ve been a consistent customer of the Chalet for nearly four years, and it is always my go-to breakfast place in Spokane. The servers are all very nice and attentive, and I’ve never had any problems with my food. I usually get the French toast with bacon and eggs, and everything is cooked exactly the way I like it.

My dad and I had breakfast here this morning. Our waitress was adorable and very efficient! We had a wonderful meal and a nice visit. I’m sure we will eat here again when he is back in town.

Really flavorful food and fast efficient friendly service. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with the most flavorful hashbrowns I’ve ever tasted. My friend had an amazing traditional eggs Benedict as well. We will definitely be coming back to this place!

I have been going to this place for years. Why? Because the food and service is really great! Simple as that. Whenever I have friends or family in town, this place is a must for breakfast.

My 5 year old LOVES this place. Very basic menu — never remodeled. I guess it just adds to the charm. :)

It is simply a rumor that I Dick Darlington is a snob when it comes to food. You see I do dine at some of the finest places in the world but Dick also appreciates down to earth neighborhood restaurants; such as the case with the Chalet. Yes, it is not Café De Paris, but nor does it tries to be. Instead you have a friendly neighborhood restaurant which does not cook pretentious food. What you get is a decent breakfast, lunch, or dinner without paying over $ 10 for a meal. The food is cooked nicely like your grandmother is in the kitchen. I rather enjoyed that from time to time. Sincerely, Dick Darlington

We went here with our friends on a late Sunday morning. It was busy but we bypassed the line by going up their flight of steps and sitting in the nook overlooking the restaurant. The service was friendly, the food came quickly and boy was it good! We thought the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy and buckwheat pancakes were excellent. The hash browns were mediocre. They sell candy by the cash register and the whole place has a nostalgic feel and clientele. We would definitely come again when we visit Spokane!

Good food, good service. Nothing fancy, just good. Biscuits were a little flat but the gravy was good. Nice size portions. Mom liked the eggs benedict.

Went here for breakfast Sunday morning. The place was packed. Waitresses were very attentive to refills on coffee and water. The wait crew was friendly and busy, it looked like a well-organized crew. Ordered the Spanish omlette and hashbrowns with gravy. All of it was melt in your mouth delicious. The restaurant was very clean and smelled good. I don’t understand the previous review saying it wasn’t. I will go back again. I’ve eaten dinner for here before and the oysters were cooked perfectly.

Stinky, gross, and dirty. Plan ahead and go somewhere else.

This has been a south hill staple forever! I went here with my grandmother on Father’s Day. We were sat quickly since it was just the two of us and they were quite busy with a wait. The food is homestyle nothing gourmet or special. But the waffle like my grandmother gets is always good and the bacon is great. The pancakes are not good. The batter has been over worked so they are a little tough. The atmosphere is retro because it has not changed since it opened. The coffee is decent and the staff is always friendly. I will go back probably with my grandmother lol.

Okay this is the place forgotten in time. Sadly the food is also. Most items on the menu are frozen and not made from scratch. Those that are made from scratch are McDonald’s bad. Now throw in canned vegetables, canned fruit and a hamburger bun for bread and you get the idea. The wait staff is young and very friendly. They made this mistake bearable. I would guess the avg age of the customers to be about 75 with no taste buds left. Walk across the street to Manito Tap House or next door to Slick Rock Burrito and you will be one thousand times more happy.

Excellent prices and good food, friendly service. The décor and the menu are very 70’s, so if you’re looking for something hip, this is not the place. If you want good food at good prices, then this is the place. My wife and I treated our daughter to lunch after church and were very satisfied for less than $ 35 including tip!

We found this little place a day before we moved out of Spokane and I’m sad it took us so long to discover. Everything tasted great although the décor is quite dated. It’s geared towards the retired crowd but worth the trip to the south hill.

Meh… that’s really all I have to say… My hashbrowns were drowning in grease, but were cooked nicely and did taste good. My omelette was okay, not great. They will tell you MANYMANY times that they serve no fresh fruit at all whatsoever. The service was decent, the clientele was great for people watching. All in all everyone ate most of their breakfast and felt content(which is why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2) but there was nothing I could tell you that stood out about this place, except that the building looks like a Chalet.
