Breakfast was slow. Coffee never got a refill. I asked for blueberry pancakes. I got pancakes with blueberry pie filling on top.(Yuck). Coffee cup filled once and never again. I had to wave the owner over. In conclusion… maybe this used to be a good place. Not anymore. Jersey has better diners. I recommend staying hungry and going over the bridge.

Large portions and amazing local flavor service — you should come by for breakfast Would have been five stars but the bacon(six slices) could have been crispier. The Mike’s breakfast is huge! Silver dollar pancakes(a dozen) were amazing

Food and service tonight were horrible Took and hour for eggs to come and then tastes like it was microwaved The amount of oil that they cook with is absurd You can’t wait to go home cause you’ll need to take a shit And I don’t mean a regular one A royally loose one Have fun cause I’ll never go back

Mikes diner serves good food, big portions. They are on the pricey side for a diner. Staff is friendly and they have plenty of parking. If your riding along victory Blvd and in the mood for a midnight snack or a meal definitely stop at Mike’s diner.

Wanted a brunch place on a Sunday morning and found Mike’s Unicorn Diner. The parking lot in the back was very very tight spaced. Upon entering the restaurant, it was a typical experience like the Perkins or the IHOPs in the area. We had our baby and brought in the stroller. No room to put the stroller. I got the baby situated and brought the stroller back to the car. The reason is, it’s pretty crammed in there with you have a baby stroller. So that was a bad idea on my part for bringing it in. The staff was ok. They weren’t exactly nice or mean. Just ok. The menu choices were great. They had everything that you would want to eat. From breakfast to lunch to dinner and everything in between. In the breakfast section, they have a «Can’t Decide», which are eggs, pancake, french toast, and etc. Just a little of everything because you can’t decide what you want to eat. I had the corned beef hash with eggs. The portion size is excellent though. I couldn’t finish my plate, and I usually do. It was a good experience for a random brunch. I gave it three stars because of the experience I had with the space in the parking lot and restaurant. The food was good and the price is decent. Nothing extra special about this place.

Stopped into this place recently for a quick snack on the way home from shopping in Staten Island. We were extremely impressed with the specialty pasta dish with chicken and penne, the salads and also the matzoh ball soup. One of the better diners I’ve been to in the outer boroughs. Extremely comprehensive menu. They also gave free cole slaw & pickles as appetizers which was really nice.

I have no idea where to start. The service was slow. The fettuccine shrimp gave me food poisoning. The cake was just flat out horrible. One star because zero isn’t an option.

My husband and I went there for breakfast. We weren’t greeted very kindly and then we were walked to our table. The table and seat were dirty. I asked for it to be wiped down. The guy who sat us was not happy. He asked what he should clean because multiple spots were dirty. Instead of cleaning all of them. I showed him what to clean. We then got our coffee and the cup was dirty. We walked out. Very unfriendly and not clean. I highly recommend you do not waste your time and go somewhere else.

The best 24 hour diner on staten island, great food, great service, large portions and fair prices, my goto is the nachos with grilled chicken or chili… neither will disappoint… if you happen to be there late evening/night ask for Marline, without a doubt one of the best waitresses my wife and I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. 5 stars all the way!

If you are looking for solid and reliable food 24/7, with good coffee and service, this is about one of the best diners I have been to over the years. To compare a diner to the latest trendiest restaurant is unfair… that’s not their purpose. I have a son in the Marines who, when he comes home after years in East Asia… he wants a cheeseburger special and coffee… at Mike’s. I think that pretty much sums it up. And the service here has always been great. To those who want to complain about the guy in the front not smiling enough or the water not arriving within your slotted window… grab a pad and a pen and spend 12+ hours on your feet dealing with the public… lets see how much you’re smiling.

I’m here nearly every week and I haven’t had a single bad experience. Although I’m usually around for breakfast, I’ve had lunch and dinner here as well. Everything has been great, dessert and specialty coffees included. Portions are big and the prices are very fair. When you walk in, they’re always very quick to greet and seat you. Their servers are always very friendly as well. The restaurant has a very large staff from what I’ve noticed, and they maintain the restaurant very well. Also, there is plenty of parking in the back. That’s usually a deal breaker for me when I’m trying to go anywhere. It’s definitely worth trying.

A solid family-owned(and run) business. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

I must say, this place is actually reasonably good. The food is average enough. 5 star quality? Hell no, but it’s not bad. For a quick meal on the run, this is the place.

Get the Lumber Jack. For $ 12(credit accepted), you’ll score two sheets of ham, three sausage links, three strips of bacon, and two eggs any way you want them[1]. Atop the ham is a short stack of pancakes. I barely finished that hot mess, but I’ll be back for it again after I flush my arteries. Service was all business, just like their coffee. Their menu sports Greek entrees, but I haven’t ventured into those. It’s all Greek to me[2]. [1] Practically any way. You know what I mean. [2] Should I stop now?

I would have given 0 stars, but I had to leave a star behind just to leave my comment. First off when we arrived the gentle man that supposedly ushered us to the table walked off with the menu, and didn’t ask us to follow him. Thanks for ushering us … Second off when ordering a burger, if you the waiter/waitress it’s your job to ask the consumer if they want cheese and not assume they dont… poor And believe it or not the food was HORRIBLE. My go to diner when in Staten Island, and not in the mood for Perkins. There’s a huge parking lot in the back of the diner, plenty of parking, the place was updated not too long ago, there is always someone to greet you, the place is huge, two sides, booths line the walls & Windows, while big tables are in the middle, there is also counter space to sit, and a bakery area, with lots of pastries. Customer service is straight to the point, it is a diner not a five star restaurant. Never looked at the menu, because like I’ve said its a diner, you go there for the basics, eggs, bacon, home fries, toast, and coffee, wouldn’t suggest you order steak… The bacon is delicious!!! Some of the best I’ve had at a diner, and so are the home fries, the coffee is decent, they always make sure you get refills, and the eggs are always cooked the way I ask them too. Price is cheaper than Brooklyn, and the quality is better also. Like over said, it’s my go to diner when in Staten Island, and in the mood for some breakfast. They get the job done.

In between a 3.5 and 4 we were here at a late night for a bite. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. Surprisingly it wasn’t drenched in buffalo sauce, which assumed it was going to be. Nothing special nor particularly bad about the wrap — just OK and filling for the price point. There were a lot of teens in the diner late night being loud and rowdy — but of you’re up for a late dinner this is probably your only option besides fast food. The food didn’t come out too quickly but it was an ok wait with TVs to distract you.

After a crazy birthday party in the middle of nowhere, I decided to head over to Mike’s diner and I am rarely in Staten Island but I decided to take a chance. This diner has a lot of parking, its open late hours and my group of 5 were seated right away. The waiter who served us was super friendly and had a great sense of humor, he knew we were trashed given the hour and he was totally cool with it. Finally I found a diner with decent French onion soup, its about time. That soup was so good and cheesy that I was tempted to order a second one. I like how large the menu is from desserts, breakfast platters, sandwiches, Italian dishes, seafood options, burgers, wraps and various finger foods at a great price. The grilled chicken melt wrap with sweet potato fries was delicious and at a huge portion The fries weren’t too oily and were crispy, and the wrap had the right amount of cheese and it was packed with flavor the burgers for my table were also huge, juicy and they give plenty of side options like ranch, mayo, whatever you want, those come with fries too. The diner was also not stingy on the coleslaw and pickles, they give you an unlimited amount. I also love how clean the bathroom is here, along with the tables. The diner also didn’t look rundown. The next time I’m drunk in SI, im coming back!

Our church service starts at 8 pm and don’t let out until 10 pm, so one of our biggest problems was where do we eat at this time of the night? especially with a large church group! We thank God for Mikes Unicorn Dinner because it feels like home, the host prepares tables for our congregation kids and all every Sunday night around 11 pm. The place is bright, clean and has a flat screen TV for all to see. The waitress knows us by name so the service is always good! The food is excellent and very fresh, anything I ever tried I really enjoyed and as you will see in the pictures I post I have tried many different dishes and never had a complaint. But there is one thing I never change and that ‘s the soup I order, chicken rice with a motzo ball in a it! I like my food very hot and the soup always is, my usual order is a large salad with roman lettuce grilled chicken, portabellas mushrooms, carrots and grilled pita bread and I’m happy with it! I once tried a Ham & Swiss club sandwich with fries instead of the traditional turkey club sandwich and it was a pleasant surprise! one afternoon I stopped in for a light lunch and decided to go with the grilled chicken with cottage cheeses and mixed fruit, it was very good and satisfying! one night I went for dinner and had the 14 oz NY strip cooked medium well it taste like I was in a expensive steakhouse in NYC! I’m also a big fan of french fries and I love to order them pizza style with tomato sauce and mozzarelle cheese which is a meal in it’s self! And If you want to talk about desserts this is the place for you! NY is famous for their pies cakes & pastries and the unicorn has a great variety to chose from, my two favorites are the fresh banana cream pie and their NY cheese cake topped with real strawberries and coconut trimmings OMG! what a way to end such a great dinner. So I definitely recommend Mike’s Unicorn Diner and if you need prayer my church is there on Sunday nights!
