This place is chronically understaffed which may explain why they have repeatedly over charged me. Check your receipt and expect to have to ask them to rering the total if you are there during a happy hour. Typical conversation at the window. Me:Why is my shake over $ 5. I just confirmed with you that it is half off after 8?. Window guy: That’s right it is half off. But you wanted extra flavors. Me: So ordering my chocolate shake with strawberry syrup added invalidates the discount? WG: It is still half off, just more expensive before the discount. Me: So my $ 4 shake turned into a $ 10 shake because I added a flavor? WG: Yes. Me: How much is the extras flavor? WG: 30 cents ME: So 4 dollars plus 30 cents is $ 10? WG: There is tax as well. ME: May I speak with the manager? MGR: How can I help you? (Replay all of the above dialogue.) MGR: That doesn’t sound right. Oh, that’s funny the computer didn’t give you the discount. Let me fix that. The correct total is $ 3.18. So it is at this point that I usually give up because the line of cars behind me has wrapped around the building and if I don’t leave immediately, I will be blocked off from the exit. According to my receipt, I was charged $ 4.39 for a shake plus 30 cents for chocolate plus 30 cents for strawberry but I got a half off discount of $ 2.20 and then the tax was added. The menu doesn’t mention that every flavor(including the first) is an additional charge and that the half off only applies to the base price. But I shouldn’t worry about that because I have had to ask for the half price discount three straight visits and that was after who knows how many times they never gave me the discount before I realized it. I was a late night regular and I used to worry most about getting my order right. I didn’t realize that the bad service was actually a distraction tactic so they could just flat out rob me.

Horrible!!! Ordered a chicken club and drove away and went to eat it and it was two slices of bread, mayo 3 tomatoes ! No chicken — ruined lunch break — could eat. Really? No one felt how light it was when handed out– ridiculous!

Smh no roller skates. I would appreciate if the people actually wore their roller skates when they brought me my food. I was really disappointed when I found out that my waiter did not wear roller skates when she brought my food. I was really looking forward to seeing my food roll here and not sluggishly walked to my table. This is false advertisement because the commercial has roller-skates and I mostly came to this restaurant to see the roller-skates

For the past two days, I’ve gotten the wrong order. Yesterday I ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade. Got a non-frozen strawberry lemonade. Today I decided to get my «wrong order» non-frozen strawberry lemonade(because I ended up liking it lol), and DAMMIT I got the wrong order again… I was given a strawberry limeade. Not cool to play with my emotions man. Both done by the same girl.

Just had horrible food there! Corn dog had a big, weird burnt hole in it. My fries were barely Luke warm and I wanted a lemon slush like I always order with a slice of real lemon but I got a fake lemonade slush. Very disappointed!!!

This is our third trip to sonic since moving to Tracy. Needless to say we have not had great experiences so far. We order pretty much the same thing every time we get here and each time we are throughly disappointed in either the service or the quality of food. Milkshakes are consistently under-mixed and I don’t think the staff has been trained in the flavors. Most of the time we get something that looks and tastes like chocolate even if we didn’t order it. Staff are really friendly and accommodating when they mess up, and given that most are kids, I totally understand. Beware of the drive thru it will take forever.

I agree with many of the bad reviews on here — 0 stars would be more accurate. So we don’t live near Tracy anymore so coming here is far and few between. We’ve had a few clunkers in terms of experience — painfully slow service for staters. This last time was the icing on the cake for me. So it’s been over a year easily since we gave this Sonics another chance and thanks to the tv commercials of those new milk shake cookie blasts — I started craving them and wanted try one — namely the mint chocolate chip with camp fire cookies — that one looks really good on the commercials, hell all the flavors«looked» good. So the time finally came to go to Tracy and give them a try. Worst. Decision. Ever. Got through one spoonful and immediately was letdown. I could tell instantly this wasn’t going to end well so after one bite each My wife and I both stopped eating anymore of this travesty they call a milkshake! Mine was the aforementioned mint and hers was the waffle berry one. First with hers — the waffle berry is shown as a deep pink with chunks of red berries throughout. What she REALLY got was melted, luke warm vanilla ice cream with just a hint of pink dye that laid on top … Nothing else in the drink just melted vanilla ice cream Ok as for mine … The one that is supposed to look like green mint with chunks of Oreos or some kind of cookies was nothing like that at all. It was actually laughable once the disappointment and anger faded. What I REALLY got was also melted, luke warm vanilla ice cream(not even worth their time or effort apparently to serve real mint ice cream) with zero cookies or anything else inside — the color on top of the melted warm vanilla ice cream was a radio active bright green like someone poured sugary, liquid ooze on top; and it wasn’t even mixed in at all– you could see three different color green lines on top of the syrupy crap inside that drink cup they gave me. It was total, utter, laziness crap that even a 8 year old with a sweet tooth who had any standards what-so-ever would chose to pass up as well. The kid credited me back the purchase, got no apologies and nothing from any manager for a discount or anything whatsoever … This place is a joke. No substance or thickness at all, just a soupy mess of bright green liquid.

If I could give zero stars, I would give a negative one here. Absolutely horrible, management should be ashamed of their employees and how this business functions. Couldn’t get our order right. Didn’t know how to apply a half off shakes and the worst they overcharged us by 10 dollars. Took an extra 15 min to void our last transaction and re charge us. Waiting in the drive thru at the window took 45 min. The cashier had no idea what she was doing!!! I’ve came here a couple times before and it’s always the same horrible experience. That is the last time I will ever go to sonic at that LOCATION! There was no sorry for the Inconvenience or anything. Must happen a lot! Save yourself the frustration and pick a different location!!!

I have given this place more chances than one should give before writing this review. My kids love the slushies though. Also… not everyone here is bad, there are a few of the kids that are very friendly and you can tell they are trying to make up for the ones that are slow and full of attitude. This drive thru is the absolute worst! If there are 3 cars in front of you plan on waiting at least 30 minutes. They are the slowest, rudest people. If you think going to the little order yourself spots will be better, think again. You push the button and you get nothing. I don’t know who trains these kids but they need to be fired!

I’ve been here a lot in the time I’ve lived in Tracy and the service has always been great. But in the last month service has gotten horrible. Waited and hour and a half for a damn slushy and some fries. Really? Get better car hops that won’t gossip while hungry customers wait.

This place is not for me. I don’t like anything about it. The Food is nasty and over priced. I asked them if i could get a refill on my soda. They said No buy another one. I just needed something to wash down this nasty food and avoid throwing up in my mouth. After spending $ 33 you can give someone a refill. Ok Sonic, Never coming back here again. And I’m going to tell all my friends to do the same. Your business model sucks, your food sucks, and your restaurant takes up to much valuable real estate. I Hope it goes out of business soon. So they can open a IN and Out fur Burger.

I can’t believe I’m writing a review for fast food but here we are… living in an area that doesn’t have sonic it’s our treat whenever we can. today we pressed the order button and nothing happened… good start sonic. finally we got our order taken and the guys said our order back including a grilled cheese. 20 minutes later our food is brought out but no grilled cheese. we pointed it out he said«it’s not on the receipt» no oh must of missed it or would you like to order one now? we also ordered fries instead of tater tots and we received fries and tater tots. we pointed that out and he said«that’s how it works». he finally goes«well sorry» and walked away. so I didn’t eat. Tracy sonic you suck.

Every time we go our order is screwed up and cold. The kids that work there don’t care. The past year we have been living here we have gone a few handful of times and the last time was just the worst. We ask for no onions they put onions, we asked for fresh fries we got old over cooked fries, and they forgot half our order.

This place is iconic but somehow I resisted my urge to try something out just out of the cold vibe this place gives out. But eventually I had an oil change scheduled at sears and since it was about to take an hr, I decided for a long walk to meet my daily goals on UP3 an on the way back I crossed through sonic of which the foot long hot dog caught my eye. Just the thought of chili cheese dog made me gravitate towards this location, I ordered the same through the seating area outside and when I tried to pay through the machine outside it didn’t go through but the server helped me out with that. Service was fast, food was packed nicely and they gave onions on request. Now the food, the sausage was good but not great, chili-cheese added to the flavor but the bun was just a mess it was too light to hold the dog. Overall a good 1st experience but nothing special enough for an extra star.

I really hate giving one star reviews, but there is just no way around it when it comes to this location. Last night was my 3rd and final visit to this establishment. I knew from previous visits that no one working would be over 17 years old and that I would have to wait longer than it was worth for my food but my son REALLY wanted to stop here, so I reluctantly complied. We got in line at the drive-through and when I reached the speaker I wasn’t greeted, so I waited patiently. After t minutes, I finally said«Hello?» and someone immediately replied they would be with me in a minute. No problem. Three minutes later I was asked what I wanted and gave my order. I pulled forward and waited another 11 minutes for cars in front of me before I was able to pull up to the window. This is 20 minutes in so far for anyone who is counting… I paid and was immediately handed a cherry limeade. Unfortunately I have a new car and there was red syrup dripping all over the sides of the cup. No problem, I will just ask for napkins in a second when they hand me the rest of my order. Almost 5 minutes later, when the employee returned to the window to apologize to me, for the wait, I already had red syrup that had dripped on the leather. I asked for napkins and she also gave me a coupon for free tots and limeade apologizing again. I was still not even upset. She made the mistake of leaving the window open this time… I heard her asking the two teenage boys working inside to please get my food done. She sounded desperate. They proceeded to cuss at her and talk about how f*ucking ridiculous the closing hours were at this location. She made a comment about wishing she could hit them with her car and sounded physically distressed and almost begging them to get the food out. The whole episode was distressing. One of the boys walked up another 3 minutes later with two bags; one right and one wrong. He went back to fix the second bag. Another two minutes, Then a few more minutes pass before the girl returns and asks if we got everything. I tell her we are missing our shakes and she hands us two that were sitting in the window the whole time and are now warm. I could not wait to get out of there. I don’t understand how the owners haven’t done something about this place. They need to have an adult on duty at all times! This place is the worst for service I have ever had in fast food and can I just repeat we’re talking about fast food here! The standard’s not that high to begin with. Needless to say the order was still wrong(2 items) and there was so much whipped cream(we don’t like whipped cream and weren’t asked if we wanted it) on our half full warm shakes that it overpowered the flavor of the shake itsef. Horrible… just horrible. I have been to Sonic in Stockton so I know this is just an issue with management/employees at this location, but does it really matter when you are sitting there for 45 minutes? I hope they do some restructuring or retraining to get this place into some sort of functioning order.
