This review is based entirely on their chicken parm sub and pizza slices. They bread and cook real chicken in a skillet with a somewhat sweet sauce and quality mozzarella. Pizza is NY style. I like the reheated slices better than a fresh pizza, but both ways are good. Not a fancy place. Definitely a Working Joe pizza bar. I always get takeout, but there is a seating area separate from bar so ok for family.

This is the best pizza in Waltham. You can order takeout on the pizzeria side or have a beer and some food on the pub side, what could be better. These type of neighborhood spots seem to be getting fewer and further between. The staff is great and the patrons are friendly. We arrived while the bar was busy and without even asking, two of the guys at the bar offered to move down a seat so my wife and I could sit together. If that doesn’t scream friendly neighborhood bar, nothing does. Beers are pretty cheap and ice cold, pizza and calzones are my «go-to» but the other menu items always look really good too.

Whenever I am looking to get out of the house and have a few drinks with friends this is our go to spot. It’s like cheers everyone knows your name! I love to watch people sing karaōke. I love the bartenders! I love the owners! Everyone is so nice here!

Best pizza in the area if you ask me, if you like thin crusts and lots of gooey cheese. I love it! I only wish they delivered so I could order more often.

Dive bar with above average food. The pizza is really good. The chicken parm sub is either a. the best chicken parm you’ll ever have or b. a terribly disappointing sandwich. I wish it was more consistent but I’ll take my chances because when it’s good, it’s really, really good. Pizza is consistently good.

Sometimes I’m afraid some of the women at the bar might beat me up but that hasn’t happened yet. Good food, good drinks, fun atmosphere. They even offer take out for the pizza so you can enjoy it at home too. Try the mystery shot. When I tried it I was legless for a week!

Best bar in the city Waltham. Best bartenders in the city of Waltham, dare I say the world! Also the karaōke with DJ Todd is good times… Plus Monday night trivia!

Fun weekend bar to get pitchers of beer and sing karaōke. The pool tables fill up and get pretty heated, so it’s probably best to try to play more serious games of pool on a slower night.

While I was an undergrad at Brandeis, my friend – a Waltham native – showed me Franco’s. «Here,» he said. «You gotta try this place, Franco’s pizza, if you’re gonna be in Waltham. It’s really good.» I figured it was probably«O.K.,» but nothing to write home about. Since that first visit in fall of 2011, I’ve been back many, many times. They say their pizza is «the best in Waltham,» and I agree. Made from scratch, their large cheese pie has good sauce, a doughy-yet-thin crust, and golden-brown cheese. Best of all, there’s an excellent balance between the sauce and the cheese – a ratio that many pizza places can’t seem to figure out. The bar is good as well, too – a great people-watching spot with a good bartender. It’s not fancy or anything, but there’s a good selection of drinks at good prices. Franco’s is not fancy or elitist, and that’s what I like about it. It reminds me of the best authentic pizza places in New York – simple, casual, and just plain good. And although I no longer live in Waltham, I still come back to Franco’s once a month or so – just because it’s that good.

This is hands down the best people watching bar on Moody st! Franco’s is a mix of 50’s «The Chateaus» furniture styling and an 80’s dance party crowd. They have a full bar, many options for entertainment, some of the best pizza in Waltham and endless amounts of good fun. Food: Franco’s has some great pizza! Order in house or order online and your pizza will be ready quickly. My favorite would have to be the meatball pizza with added ricotta cheese. I think the pizza is great and so does everyone else who tastes it. Its almost a combo between an Italian and Greek style pizza. One of my favorite things to do is grab a slice for the walk home when leaving the bar late at night. Drinks: Franco’s has a full bar and excellent bar staff. If you are lucky enough to get a seat at the small bar, know that the staff will take great care of you. My glass was not empty for one second from the time I sat down. Beer, Wine and Cocktails — they have it all at great prices. Staff: I’ve only had the pleasure of going to Franco’s on a Friday or Saturday night. Each time I’ve gone there are only TWO bartenders(1 male and 1 female) manning the bar/tables and keno! They are so efficient and can actually serve the entire bar! Hats off to them as they work their butts off!!! Specials: One of the specials that cracks me up is the $ 3.50 mystery shot they have everyday. You pay $ 3.50 and pretty much get a shot of the bartenders choice. They also have GREAT pizza/beer deals such as a wing/pizza deal with a 28oz tower of beer. They also serve beer towers(60oz), but you have to have a minimum amount of people to purchase. Entertainment: Darts, Pool tables, Golden Tee(2015), Keno, Karaōke(Thurs/Fri/Sat), an outdated version of buck hunter and lot of AMAZING people watching! Holy hell… amazing!!! Space: Along with the limited bar stools, they also have several pub tables in the bar area. They have a ton of standing room and other tables scattered throughout the building. Watch the stairs! PS — Franco’s fix the 10% off your first order of online ordering… it doesn’t work! I’m too cheap to be annoyed by it but too lazy to care to say anything.

Let’s get weird. I’ll be damned if this odd establishment doesn’t have the best pizza in Waltham. I’ve tried Angelo’s, Pini’s, Charcoal Guido’s, among others, and Franco’s is definitely the best by far. That is, if you like thin crust, kinda greasy, straightforward pizza — and let’s just be honest, YOUDO. But yes, it gets kinda weird in here. All the employees are really nice so it’s more the atmosphere and clientele. I always just scurry off with my pizza box and take it to go. If you gotta eat in, I’d recommend sitting on the bar side. Espesh if there’s karaōke to witness. Also, better to call in your order by phone than order online.

Love this place. Whether it’s just to go in and pick up a quick slice(or two) of pizza, or to drink there all day/night on a Saturday, it’s always a favorite for my group of friends. Make sure to try a Mystery Shot. Definitely have had some good times after doing one of those.

Friday night is Pizza night and always has been. So every Friday night I get a bacon pizza from Franco’s. If you are looking for some kind of yuppy whole wheat pizza with organic tomato sauce topped with arugula, this ain’t the place. But if you are looking for a really good traditional thin crust bar pizza, head to Franco’s. They also have a good subs and a menu that includes steak tips, chicken fingers, salads, etc. I get mine to go, but they have ample seating. I wish they delivered, but I don’t mind going there to pick-up because the owners and staff there are all great.

Best damn greasy pie in Waltham! Just one of those classic blue collar neighborhood establishments that won’t go away… And why would you want it to? Where the game is always on and the the cheap beer flows like fine champagne. This place is great for take out or to sit at the bar. They have a pool table and regular karaōke nights. I wouldn’t say it’s an appropriate environment for little kids, but depending on the time of day it might be ok. I really haven’t had anything but a Roni pizza so I can’t speak to the rest of their menu; pizza should be a safe play!

When I was attending Lasell College this was generally our watering hole of choice. The bartenders here work harder than any others I have ever seen, and they make great drinks. Swell prices on drinks for the moody street area too. The service is excellent, always greeted with a smile. The pizza here is what puts Franco’s over the top for a five star rating. Some of the best New York style pizza I have ever had, and that is a BOLD statement from someone who loves pizza. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the greater Boston area

Atmosphere: Blue Collar restaurant and bar. No frills, but they do have a couple of pool tables. Not a noisy place and if you want to catch the game they have some televisions to catch it on. Service: The bar staff is great. Friendly people. At lunch we just go up to the counter to order. The guys there are good people. They are friendly, but not a chatty bunch, so don’t expect them to be smiles and sunshine. These guys are quick(as you can be when making a pizza from scratch). Taste: All I have ever had here is the pizza and with good reason. This is one of the best New York-style pizzas I have eaten. Granted, I am no expert on pizza, but it is a good slice. The cheese has a great taste to it and the crust has a nice crunch to it. The only recommendation I have is to eat it hot and fresh because when this is reheated it loses a lot of what I think makes it so good. It is a bit greasy, but it is cheese and pepperoni I am eating, so it is to be expected. In all, Franco’s is a solid pizza and the place I go in Waltham(of all the many pizza places) when I have a craving for pizza.

I have hunted high & low for pizza that tastes like home(NY Metro area) since I moved here in 1981. I quickly learned that«House of…» Greek pizza isn’t anything that resembled pizza where I grew up. Regina’s came the closest until I discovered Franco’s many moons ago. Their pizza has everything that you find in any decent NY/North Jersey Italian Pizzeria. A large thin slice that you can fold in one hand with melted mozzarella & oil dripping off the end tantalizing your tongue as you open your mouth. The first bite melts in your mouth as the cheese almost burns the roof of your mouth. As you pull the slice away from that first bite, the cheese stretches into mutiple little strings of mozzarella heaven & falls on your chin. The tangy sauce, cheese & thin, almost liquid crust all melt together into that instant taste of NY Pizzeria pizza. I think I just climaxed…
