I REALLY liked their roast beef sandwich. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s pretty flavor packed.

Not bad. I always had a taste for hot roast beef sandwiches. This place became a staple in my life when they opened a spot right on Newport Avenue in Pawtucket, RI. It’s been some years since I first frequented Walts, but the taste is still there. I was a little disappointed that my sandwiches were a little on the cold side, an indication that the meat was just not heated to standard. All in all, I would say they are a worthy spot to grab a bite and keep in the rotation of fast food establishments.

Walt’s has become a tradition whenever I visit RI. The restaurants are clean and the staff is friendly. The food is delicious and served quickly. Can’t wait to stop by again!

Stay away. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. I don’t know. I ordered a Walt’s combo… roast beef sandwich, one side order and a fountain drink. I was asked what I wanted on the sandwich — lettuce, tomatoes and onions came the reply. I get my sandwich — small, soggy roll. Minimal lettuce and tomato. Roast beef — maybe two slices max piled on the center of the roll. Small styrofoam tub of coleslaw — tasty, but forget about the size. And then I look at the check. I get dinged 20 cents for lettuce and 20 cents for tomato. Overall, this was a $ 3.00 meal. I paid $ 7.59. The place wasn’t crowded. I can understand why. I used to live in the neighborhood 12 years ago and Walt’s was open then in the same location. They must be doing something right considering all of the eating places on Bald Hill Road. Will I be back? I don’t think so.
