**This review is for the Wal-Mart center location on Beach and Talbert(couldn’t find it on Unilocal)** Payless is getting better with the styles of their shoes. My issues are with the quality in general. I have what you call semi«problem feet», so most of their shoes don’t work for me. I came here because I wanted to find a pair of Sketchers Go Walk knock offs. I didn’t want to pay $ 70 for the real ones. I did find a similar pair at Payless and bought them right away. When I tried them on in the store they felt ok. It wasn’t until I started walking around in them enough that my feet felt like I was walking on a hard cement and made my feet sweat really bad. Gross! They also started to smell too. This is because the rock hard cheap soles and non-ventilated shoe lining, so I returned them. As that old saying goes«You get what you pay for» is very true here. I went to the Sketchers Outlet store down the street and tried on the real Go Walks. WOW what a difference! Super cushiony and they also have a special lining that allows your feet the breathe and are anti bacterial for odor control. The bad thing was they were $ 70+ tax, so I didn’t purchase them at the outlet but what I did was I ordered a pair online through Amazon and only paid $ 55 w/free shipping. Much more reasonable price then $ 70+ retail. Their was another online store that have them for $ 50 w/free shipping and no tax, but they were out of my size and color I wanted. I would suggest going online and researching prices for the good shoes before buying in the stores or at Payless. You can save a quite a bit of money if you buy online. The name brand shoes might be a little bit more expensive than Payless but the quality of the materials and foot comfort would be worth in the long run.

This has been the best Payless I’ve ever visited. The girls there were very helpful and knowledgable about their products. They made my experience awesome and it really made my day after I had had a long day.

I’m giving this place a two because of how I’m feeling right now, I’ll admit I’m unhappy that I could t buy a pair of shoes that I put on hold. But the reason why I’m giving it a two star is because the girl that helped me was not helpful at all I asked her for help and it seems like she was unhappy to help me. I was talking and she just walked away… I need very specific type of shoes because my feet is wide and I have problem with blisters so I need extra comfort. I never gave her attitude of any sort but she just wasn’t really helpful. I shop at Payless all the time I buy almost all of my flats/heels here. This was just a very disappointing experience for me.

I’ve had great luck finding shoes my size here and at a great price! I know it’s a chain, so the prices are good at their other store. I’m giving this store five stars because the employees are so nice and helpful. Keep up the good work!

Saturday night we discovered my daughter’s ballet shoes were too small– and we needed them Sunday morning! Mom fail. All the dance wear stores are closed on Sundays so I found Payless carries dance shoes and this location in particular is open earliest(9am) on Sundays! Perfect, we went in, found the right size and on our way to dance! :)

I have no issue admitting that my fancy-looking pair of dress shoes for work I picked up for barely $ 25(with email offer) at Payless. As a matter of fact, its pretty much the same style/brand of shoes from State Street(Payless brand) that I have worn for work since 2005. PSS has a great selection of shoes for pretty much all your needs — although I get my work shoes here. This store has a decent selection of shoes — but what I usually do is check inventory online before I drive over. There’s about 3PSS locations within a 5 mile radius of my house, so it definitely pays to check stock online, before heading over. The employees were generally friendly and helpful — didn’t really go out of their way to make any suggestions or upsell(I’ve been to some locations where they’ll try to offer you a bag of socks or something in addition to the pair of shoes you’re picking up). Not a plus or minus really, but definitely a missed opportunity to sell a couple extra pairs of socks(I have enough socks at home, so I wouldn’t have said yes anyway, even if I were asked). If you sign up for their email list/club thing via their website, you get emailed a 15% off your ENTIRE purchase(which doesn’t sound like much but it pays for sales tax plus a few extra dollars off your order). Located in the Target/Pavilions shopping center — right next to Target/Dairy Queen.

Our daughter is growing, so this has been a great place to buy shoes to match a dressy outfit that we know won’t get much use. The staff is friendly and we have always found what we were looking for at a very reasonable price.
