Worse customer service EVER. Manager talks to her crew as though they are all ignorant. We placed our order, sat down and then was told they are out of chicken. Never coming here again. Ghetto Central

Their chicken fingers are so juicy and well breaded. Rolls are really good yeast rolls, made on site. Mashed potatoes are great, fries are worthy and to top it off they know how to make white gravy! My daughter says don’t forget to tell about their sweet teA, best in town. So why only Four stars. For over half a year the order microphone and speaker has been out for a long time. Good folks, good food.

I love chicken. I love fried a whole lot. I’ve tried all the fast food chicken places out west and this was new to me and with it being right across the street from my work. I just had to try it. I can’t really compare it to Popeye’s or KFC. The former being my favorite of the two places. It’s got it’s own unique menu. Also I don’t recall sweet tea being at either of the other two stores. Then again, I’m in Texas and what places can’t you find sweet tea in this state. Or at least in Abilene. I went for a two piece thigh meal. It came with fries, a drink, a side and a roll, I believe. I am all about the dark meat, so I was really looking forward to this. The sides were your typical sides. Nothing particularly special. The roll was on the sweet side, the fries were okay, the gravy on the mashed potatoes were new to me. It wasn’t a brown gravy, it was a sorta white gravy. It was different, but tasted just fine. The chicken however… I wasn’t happy with… The skin on the chicken was DRENCHED in oil. I mean I could have sopped up a few napkins with as much oil this thing was covered in. I can only assume it didn’t have proper time to drain after it was taken from the deep fryer, but trust me. I would have waited that extra time. Not only was the thing greasy. It was salty. I don’t know what they soaked their chicken in, but it had to be a salty brine of some sort, because that’s all I could taste. Salt. I ate most of it, because I was hungry and I paid money for it, but man I really was disappointed. Chicken is so easy to do right. I didn’t want to come back, at least not as soon as I ended up doing. My girlfriend wanted something from here for lunch so I stopped by and got two«Student’s Specials». Which are chicken strips, fries, drink and a roll for $ 6 something. Not a bad price. This time the chicken wasn’t greasy at all. The strips were decent sized too. Not overly salty like the thighs were. So round two was much better. But I’m afraid if I get thighs again or breasts. I might run into the same greasiness. Which I don’t want. I do need to try different sides and hopefully I’ll get good chicken like last time, because if it’s greasy again, I’ll just have to pass on any future visits to this place.
