So bummed my favorite hangout is closed. Excellent beers on tap, huge selection of sakes, and food that keeps on being inventive. Missed the great staff …

Arrived at around 8pm & luckily there was a zero minute wait time at a table & also bar stools available. We(the two of us) were promptly offered iced waters and minutes later our waiter who also happens to be the chef there(they were short-staffed) took our drink order & then our food order. We got the spicy ahi musubi, hapa fries, & the eggplant miso with crispy noodles. The spicy ahi Musubi was so good! I really loved the little cucumber surprises hidden between the spicy ahi. That little element & the spice definitely took the dish to another level. A must-try for sure! Hapa fries were great too. We liked the cut, the crisp, the seasoning, & the house made mustard dipping sauce. Finally, the eggplant miso on crispy noodle. Absolutely delectable! There were huge chunks of fried tofu and eggplant as well as assorted julienned veggies. Keep in mind that you can up your spice level from no spice at all to 1 – 10(or higher if you can handle it). We went with the 5, but we’ll be trying the 7 at our next visit and eventually trying level 10! We ordered drinks too & they were good, strong drinks. No complaints. The andagi with haupia sauce was yum too. Our whole experience was very positive. Count on us to be back for sure!

Our first time here. Couldnt decide on wat we wanted, sonwe tried a variety of things… Started off with the Ahi musubi, that was DELICIOUS, ii inhaled it, literally! Our entrée was the Grilled Miso Chicken && the Pork with Bruschetta. oh ii cant forget we also had the Fish Bites… EVERYTHING was presented very nice && the taste was EXCELLENT. && now for dessert, the Andagi with Haupia drizzled with chocolate, VERYDELICIOUS We were so stuffed… Last but not least, the BEST part of it all was the CUSTOMERSERVICE!!! CUSTOMERSERVICE if ii could would rate this as high as possibly ii would. One of the BEST services we have received in a while && we eat out almost every nite. HIGHLYRECOMMEND

I went to dinner here earlier tonight with my bro. We ordered the Okinawan yakisoba with chicken and their pork chops. Food was all very tasty here. They also serve ramen here in which you can choose yakisoba noodles or ramen noodles. I wanted to try their Andagi but they ran out. That’s what they are known for so I will def come back for that!

I’ve been here once a couple years back, and I really liked it. I didn’t have a Unilocal account back then, but I would have easily given this place 4 stars. With this recent visit, however, I felt this place deserved 3 stars. It was a slow night with only 3 tables filled(including ours) and each party with only 2 people. There were two waitresses and what appeared to be just one chef working, which explains why our dishes took a while but not why our waitress forgot to put in one of the dishes we ordered. I did notice she didn’t write our order down. In my opinion, that mistake could have been easily avoided. She was nice, though. Out of all we ordered, we really like the naked spicy ahi musubi. The ahi was fresh and the rice was well flavored. I was a bit let down by their shoyu pork andagi, which is what they are known for. There was too little shoyu pork in the andagi, which I felt needed more flavor. The andagi also lacked flavor. A lot of the other dishes on their menu were enticing, and I would like to try them. With that said, I will be back and hope for a better experience. And maybe by luck, prices will be lowered just a tad bit.

Off the Wall is a small restaurant located in the Pearl Kai shopping center. They offer an array of Okinawan food such as shoyu pork, Okinawan soba noodles, and of course the andagi. The pork was tender, a little salty, but it wasn’t overpowering. The soba noodles were thick and chewy and the broth was really flavorful. The freshly made andagi was one of the better ones I’ve had and had a nice golden layer. A lot of the food is family style so this is a good place to come with some friends or for pau hana after work. They also have a variety of beers such as Orion and Echigo from Japan. There are beer and wine specials from 4pm-6pm. There’s also a TV so you can come here for Monday or Thursday night football. Service and preparing the food can take a while, which even they state on the menu, however, the staff is friendly and working hard to appease all of the patrons. I recommend Off the Wall if your in the area and are looking for a laid back restaurant to enjoy some good food and a beer or two with friends.
