I miss this place. Loved their pizza. Please open up another one? I’d give it 5 stars but you guys closed! So, sad they were around for decades! Now I go to Ledo’s kinda the same pizza but not as good.

A very sad day to see these posts. My brothers and I frequented this place as boys, when it was on S. Jordan St. As we grew up it was always a place to come back to for the cracker thin crust and tangy unique sauce. Walter, Pete, Essie and Yolanda greeted you with a smile on their face and a sincere interest in what you’ve been doing. They established quite a reputation visited by Redskin players, statesmen, and war heroes. It’s where I went for my sons’ first pizza, my farewell luncheon upon leaving the Pentagon, and for what would be the last pizza with my father. A significant establishment has been lost, but the memories will remain.

They closed and when they did I cried. I am 18 and my dad was a huge fan of this place. He used to take us here for our once a week dinner eat outs! I really wish they didnt close because they had the BESTPIZZAEVER! I miss them and the friendly service. I used to go in there with my dad and he’d always give me money to play music on the juke box and play the virtual bowling. My dad would always order a small order of steak fries and small order of sore strong fries. As we were eating these as the appetizer he’d order a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. As soon as we finish the fries the pizza would usually come! This was a place that holds many great memories and it makes me upset that it is gone. If you never got to try it I am sorry you missed out on the BESTPIZZAEVER!

Your average hole in the wall pizza joint. Big tvs and darts. The appeal of this place is its clientele. You know you’ve got something special when your being chatted up by a vet who follows up his«the first plane crash I was in» story with a «the first time I got shot» story :) Good times! I’m told the pizza is good however I wouldn’t know, I’m lactose intolerant.

Really good flat bread pizza ready to devour in about 12 minutes. Friendly as can be family owned staff with a cheap bar to have a beer at while I wait those 12 minutes. Cannot beat the price for what you get! Best pizza Ive ever had? Nope, but darn good and serves it purpose well.

Our office has been going here for years. Probably get their pizza and a cheesesteak about once every two months. If you like thin, square pizza this is a great place to go. Decent food at a good price.

After reading all the great reviews about this place I decided to check it out but was really disappointed in the quality of the food. It’s a shame, because the people working there are really nice. I ordered two types of pizza– a regular cheese and a white pizza. The regular cheese pizza’s sauce was too salty and the white pizza’s dough wasn’t even cooked all the way through. The chicken sandwich with old bay seasoning was pretty bland, and the double cheeseburger didn’t impress.

Neighborhood staple. When you think of your typical smoky dive carry out… Think Pepi’s Pizza Box! Food is cheap and decent nothing fresh and overwhelming but when you don’t feel like cooking this is a good place! Not much to describe this place past that!

Heard rave reviews about this place so we went with some friends. We had burgers & the thin crust pizza. Im picky about my pizza & like it Jersey style. So this wasnt the best pizza ever but it wasnt bad. The crust was cooked nice & crispy and the cheese was good. The burgers werent bad either. Good size. Lots of stuff on em. The onion rings were DELICIOUS. We’ll eat there again.

This is the best pizza ever! Make sure you order regular crust, not thin. A large two topping is only around 12 bucks– plus I tip the driver, but its soo worth it. I am gonna hate to move cuz I have never had a good pizza like this before. If you can get them to deliver to you –even better. They are limited on where they will go. I say try it. You will love the change from the dominos or papa johns pizza you get all the time. My husband even loves it and he is picky about his pizza!

This is a review for the takeout counter during breakfast on a a weekday. So yes this place is definitely a hole in the wall hidden in a strip mall right next to the Post Office. When you first walk in there is a door to the takeout counter and a door for the restaurant. I have never been in the restaurant portion of the place but from what I could tell its very dark and old. There were about 6 Alexandria police cars parked outside. I’m assuming this is a popular spot for them to enjoy breakfast. There were a few other customers or I should say regulars sitting down as well. Now on to the food review. Looking at the menu board above the carryout counter the first thing you notice are the cheap prices. Specifically I ordered the French Toast which came out to be $ 3.50 w/tax. This came with 4 pieces of toast and 2 portions of real butter and syrup. Now that’s a deal! There were three postal workers ahead of me ordering. Since the Post Office is next door I figure they come here out of convenience and for the cheap food. As for the quality of the food I would rate it as acceptable. If your expecting high quality products I would avoid this place. If you want a quick cheap meal then this is a place for you to try. FYI for lunch them have a 6 inch cheessteak combo with drink and fries for $ 5 excluding tax. I’ll probably this next time.

I think Pepi’s is the type of place where people either love it and are fans, or aren’t. I’m just destine to be one of the later. This review is for Pepi’s take out for pizza only.(I might move on to trying the subs here.) I could probably get past the fact that I might need I lung transplant if I ever ate here, or got take-out on a regular basis and waited in store for it. I could probably get past the fact that Pepi’s makes the smallest«large» pizza’s I’ve ever seen. At least for the most part they price them accordingly, but they really wouldn’t feed more than 2 adults — and even then you might need to supplement the meal with other things. And they can be miserly with the toppings at times. I just can’t get past the fact that the pizza isn’t good. The thin crust is a cracker with an Italian wannabe complex(warning — the thin pizza is rectangular). The original crust/hand tossed is just an awful doughy mess and not even well seasoned tasty dough at that — mmmm just love the taste of raw flour and water. The sauce is OK, but really lacks character. The toppings are OK, but not overly memorable. It will quell a rumbling tummy and is convenient for when I’m running errands in the shopping center(post office, Mediterranean Bakery, even a quick in and out at Home Depot). But its just not very good pizza.

The pizza is the best thing about this place. I think the drinks are pricey, considering it’s a hole-in-the wall place. I’ve also been quoted different prices on the same drink. It’s VERY smokey. The service is barely average. The crowd is kinda old. They have dartboards, but sometimes the poker tournements get in the way. This place is better for take-out than dine-in.

I’ve been going to Pepi’s Pizza Box for nearly 30 years and they have the best pizza and the friendliest staff in any bar in the area.
