Very nice place to come have meeting and study. Has a nice bar to chill and do work. Average noise and friendly people

1. Not even rush hour, but it takes 15 mins to get my coffee. 2. I ordered a regular iced latte… Tasted like milk and the color was too light. I think they re-used the espresso grind. This is my usual order, so i know it’s too light. I’ve ordered here before… Inconsistency in the coffee making here. 3. If it already took so long to get my drink, I am not gonna ask them to remake(it’ll take too long seeing how the barista moves) 4. I had to wait awhile at the counter to put in my order. Hello? Yeah I’m ready to order whenever you are!!! 5. Ended going home brew more espresso to add to my coffee for my coffee flavor. Something I shouldn’t have to do when I paid $ 5 for coffee and convenience.

Enjoying my day off and having a coffee. Service was good. Everyone was busy. Store is clean. Coffee was great!

Due to its location in the Marketplace, this Starbucks is usually busy. Tons of parking as it is in the Marketplace which is a plus. I visit usually out of convenience. The staff can sometimes have that insouciant attitude to them, but they definitely get your drinks done right. I’ve watched one of the baristas carefully and beautifully mark an espresso drink with syrup. They are very generous with the caramel syrup in their iced frappuchinos each time I have visited. When I last went, the restroom do not appear to have been tended to in a while…’nuff said. Seating is limited inside as it is fairly small. You will usually find quite a few high school/college aged people«studying»(aka sitting with their MacBooks looking at web blogs while chatting with a friend). In nicer sunny weather, there are quite a few covered(umbrella) seats(shared by Jamba Juice and Baja Fresh customers) outside.

I love Starbucks, so I’ll grab me a frapp any where. But I like coming here because of the service, and the people. The baristass are always friendly and smiling. Believe it or not, attitude of the baristas matter… Nothing like a smiling face handing you your favorite cup of coffee.

This is one of the small Starbucks I’ve visited, but it’s also the only one I’ve seen where you can sit up at the counter on one of four tall backless stools. The counter is deep, so there’s room to spread out a computer and textbooks as some of the patrons were doing. There are only seven small 2-seater tables inside, and I couldn’t see any electrical plug nearby, something Starbucks is usually known for. The space is extremely cramped inside, people are jostling for space as we wait for our drinks to be delivered by the frazzled but ever smiling barista, but the vibe is friendly. There was a long line to order but it moved quickly. The drinks took a little longer to arrive, but they were worth the wait. Of course you can buy coffee at Starbucks, but did you also know that you can now purchase Teavana teas? Well, you can! They also serve pastries from La Boulange. They are a chain that sells excellent coffee and pastries so I was initially surprised several years ago to see them team up with their competitor Starbucks. Whatever, it’s a win for me as I get more pastry options. Starbucks also sells evolution juices/smoothies, sandwiches(hot and cold), and a variety of healthy snacks It’s November and all the holiday drinks are back! I am currently(as I write this, NOT as you read this) happily on a venti chestnut praline latte. Yummy! I won’t say one way or the other whether I’m also noshing on a Cranberry Bliss Bar. I’ll let you jump to you own conclusions. If you don’t feel up to braving the subdued chaos inside(it’s really not as bad as it sounds) there are four wrought iron tables just outside the door shaded by two of the ubiquitous green Starbucks umbrellas. If you take a few steps further, there’s a communal courtyard(shared with Jamba Juice and soon to be with Deli Delicious) with 9 more tables, each with its own beige umbrella for shade. Classical music plays from well hidden speakers(I couldn’t locate them, but I was too lazy to get up out of my seat) and one overhears friendly chatter from college students(Cal State Bakersfield is in walking distance) and people of all ages at the other tables. All Starbucks sell coffee and pastries, but the truly good ones sell a sense of community. This one accomplishes that in spite of the cramped space inside the building.

Every time I come here they make my drink amazing! I always get an iced caramel macchiato with nonfat milk and extra caramel. They take the extra part seriously! I love that! Always fast and clean!

This is a great Starbucks! Who doesn’t love the atmosphere at the Marketplace also. But I just came in and you could tell the workers were ending shifts, tired & cleaning. But it didn’t stop them from being friendly & having great customer service! So 2 thumbs up from me!!!

I’ve been to a lot of Starbucks to study and do homework and I’ve never been to such a dysfunctional Starbucks before. I’ve been sitting here for about 2 hours and the baristas are the loudest ones in here. Talking amongst each other and taking their time making people’s drink. Not only have I seen people rolling their eyes over the amount of time they’re waiting while the baristas talk to each other and their friends sitting at the counter, but then the barista apologizes because she can’t remember how many shots she put in a customers drink, and puts whip cream even when another customer asked for no whip… Seriously, don’t invite your friends to sit at the counter while you work. It’s unprofessional.

January 2015 review: A man was standing and visibly waiting to order for over a minute while several employees(including two managers) continued passing by each other, looking at him and not saying anything. It almost felt like it was happening in slow motion. In fact, I thought for a minute that he had already ordered his drink and was just waiting(in the wrong area). Nope. Another minute goes by, the person on the duty for cashiering/taking orders sees me now standing there too and looks at him, says«I’ll be right with you.» She then gave me a dirty look. She wasn’t apologetic after helping the man in line in front of me(after he waited several minutes with no acknowledgement.) And when she helped me, she barely took my order, no eye contact, no «thank you,» nothing. All the employees working today were those that you wonder how they ever got hired and how the hell they’re still working there. One star… So when combined with my August review, this balances out to three stars. Seems all or nothing at this location… August 2014 review: There were seven people ahead of me in line on a busy weekday morning. Seven. From the end of the line to getting my drink took a total of seven minutes! I have had stores be far less busy and take much longer to get me my drink. Thank you for being so speedy and efficient here!

My favorite Starbucks! Mainly, because of the baristas and people that flow in and out. One star off because I miss the booths. I love the new«sit up at our bar» aspect but all the stools and the tables inside are HARD. So, while I’m a fan, my bone-y butt is not! Would it be shameful to bring my own seat cushion upon my next coffee run?

I love it at this Starbucks. It’s close to home, and the baristas here are always friendly! Whenever I don’t know what to drink, the employees usually recommend delicious drinks! Jen is awesome too:)!

I have this Starbucks a second chance for TWOYEARS. The«convenience» of the dive thru is non existent, customer care is terrible, and the Starbucks consistency is a myth in their realms. I worked for Starbucks throughout college. I unfortunately worked at a store that was so desperate for employees the manager would not fire a very poor employee(disrespectful, lazy, terrible to coworkers and customers). I think this is part of Starbucks on Ming’s problem. There is a worker here that I have never seen smile. She has gotten my order wrong probably over 5x, and when I politely ask her for my original order she rolls her eyes and still doesn’t get it right. The drive thru is terrible and extremely slow. Go inside. But inside isn’t much better either. Maybe I’m just spoiled by the amazing crew at Stockdale’s. I think the greatest thing about Starbucks as a company is that you can walk into any one of them and get the exact drink you’re use to. This Starbucks epically fails at this. I will not be going back to this location. Don’t waste your time and money.

My last review was a bit harsh. In any case, the staff is great. Perhaps over zealous at times, but I, too, can have my manic moments. Haha One should not hesitate to visit this location.

My fiancé decided to surprise me with a Starbucks at work today from this Starbucks location. I LOVE Starbucks, even though my bank account is fully aware of the price. Even so, the usually great drinks keep me coming back. This is not one of those times. My fiancé had a terrible time trying to order me a Passion Tea Lemonade sweetened with Apple Juice rather than syrup and himself a Vanilla Bean with extra caramel drizze. My Passion Tea tastes like it is mostly water with a little bit of apple juice in it, so a COMPLETE waste of $ 3. His«extra» drizzle was BARELY enough for a regular amount, and of course, they charge him extra. Won’t be going back to this particular Bux unless there is no other option. Do not recommend going here!

Your standard Starbucks, but it is in one of the best locations in Bakersfield: The Marketplace. They ‘ve got a great patio where you can enjoy the weather when it’s not blistering hot(aka November-March) and the service is standard for Starbucks: quick and friendly. It’s a great place to meet up with friends or grab a quick pick-me-up before your movie at Edward’s theater.

Yeah. It’s just another Starbucks but goddamned it, it’s my Starbucks. And as Starbucks go, it’s not bad. Better than most. There are many regulars that will actually sit and enjoy not counting the artistic semi bums that inhabit some. Real workaday people having coffee or some such concoction. There’s nothing wrong with that. There’s something to be said for simply being there for you everywhere. You may not be the best but you make up for the quality with an overcompensation of quantity. Thank you.

I really hate to review a chain. Everyone knows what Starbucks is! But this is my favorite Starbucks. And the way I figure, if it’s mine it needs a review. I have been coming to this location for around seven years and I can’t say I’ve ever had anything but good service and coffee(good coffee by Starbuck’s standards). The staff has always been friendly, the place is always clean and I really dig the smell of the hand soap because It smells like my Mom’s old perfume and makes me happy when I smell it. One of the good things is the location; it’s in the Marketplace which is the social hub of the Southwest. It’s great to go here before or after a movie, dinner, or just to call a friend and hangout. There is ample seating and people are in abundance if you like to do a little people watching. So, here is my one and only chain review. It wouldn’t make sense to talk about their products, we’ve all been and they’re all pretty much the same. Except this is my Starbucks! «There are many like it, but this one is mine».
