Great way to start the vacation is at the frontier tavern We start out here after the drive in grommet to NY and it is always the perfect start at the Omni. We live the resort and the frontier is the great start to it all!!!

A late arrival and wanted a quick meal before settling in. Got the filet sliders. 2 sliders of chewy over cooked filet, maybe ½″ thick, thank goodness for the horseradish so we had some taste. 2 cokes an d $ 27 later we were out of there. I expect resort prices but at least give me DELICIOUS for that price.

Sorry folks We love the omni resort but this food was too disappointing The ceasar salad was inedible; overdressed, bottled dressing, tasteless stale croutons and bad parm cheese. Luckily it was removed from our tab. The veggie burger was dry and tasted as if made from dried veggies? The brioche bun was great and the french fries were okay. They have a captive audience at the resort so please please improve the food!!!

The mushroom soup was so tasty. Very fresh tasting and creamy. I liked the nice touch of the portobella mushroom on top. I also got the Appalachian Brewing Company Root Beer which was great. I also ordered the shrimp and spinach pizza(personal size) but wasn’t very fond of that. My husband and father had the braised beef poutine which was tasty. The service was great(as was all the service we had at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort).

very cozy and cute place. we ordered 6 apps which were enough to fill up 5 bellies(: the braised beef poutine, housemade potato chips, ploughman’s board, calamari, shrimp & spinach flatbread, beef tenderloin sliders were delish!!! my only complain is how pricy the drinks are for the area but I would definitely like to go back for dinner.

We visited the Omni during the Thanksgiving holiday. This is a small bar they have in the hotel. We had such great food at the other restaurants in the hotel so we decided to go to the Tavern as well. We ordered some potato cakes, calamari, the crab sandwich and the cheese charcuterie board. The potato cakes and the calamari were good. The crab sandwich was ok but the fries that came with it were cold. Before ordering the cheese and charcuterie board I had asked the waitress what kind of meat came with the dish. She said prosciutto and Parma ham. But when it came to our table I was disappointed… it was salami and pancetta. And the cheese was cut in such large chunks that it was difficult to eat. I didn’t want to make a big stink about it to the waitress but the bar needs some quality control in the kitchen. And if the waitresses’ table side manner was a bit better I would have felt more comfortable letting her know how I felt. I just wish the tavern was better because the other restaurants at the hotel were fantastic.

This is an average place in a wonderful hotel. The only other choices without having to get in your car and drive are at the hotel and they are more fancy/expensive. We were at the hotel for 1 night and since we are vegan the Frontier Tavern had the best selection for us. We ordered the homemade potato chips(no cheese) and 2 veggie burgers along with 3 total cocktails and our bill came out to $ 150 plus tip! We thought it was pricey for what we ordered and the food was just okay.

It was a bit crowded due to wedding weekend. We had a table on the above seating. The chairs I felt were going to break because they were wicker and the table top was a weird plastic. The ambiance was pretty cool. Different seating options with wooden booths and large arm chairs. Our waitress, Katie, was amazing. Sweet and full of suggestions. She also checked on our frequently without being too attentive. Very personal as opposed to just doing her job. We had the steak with the sauce she suggested. It was superb. It had just the right kick without over ruling the steak flavor. We finished with the donut holes in caramel. So delicious.

Nice causal dining. The crab cake sandwich was fantastic. Healthy portion of fresh lump crab on a delicious roll. Nice wait staff: friendly and accommodating.

I have stayed at Bedford Springs many times and always visit the Frontier Tavern during my stay. I expect it to be a bit pricey because of the location and I understand that. You are also paying for a lovely setting and beautiful view, no matter whether it be winter or summer. During my recent visit I was sad to see that the menu of scrumptious sandwiches and full dishes had been changed drastically. No more pub fries, fish and chips, meatloaf sandwich, shepherds pie… Sad, but still hopeful… I ordered a crabcake sandwich and fries that came out twenty minutes later, cold. The fries were soggy and the crabcake simply had no taste. I would have salted the sandwich, but there was no salt and pepper in sight. My husband’s meal came out the same, limp cold fries and a cheesesteak sandwich. It was pretty obvious the steak had been leftovers as it was cut into pieces and double cooked… the meat had rubbery hard tips where there wasn’t some cheese covering it. We decided for the rest of our stay, we would travel away from the resort just a few miles to the diners and cafes in town. Really disappointed by The Frontier Tavern.

With a warm casual setting, this restaurant serves comfort food that pairs best with a beer or cocktail. We strolled in one evening looking for a not-so-expensive dinner. During our first trip, I ordered the tavern burger and my husband got the pastrami reuben. Both were delicious, but the tavern burger fell into the«holy yum» category. My husband took a bite and that was it. He found love. For our first meal, our bill was around $ 30, not including drinks. I think this place has fair pricing. Although the menu is rather casual, the food is elevated to a level that makes it worth an extra couple dollars. Our next trip(somebody wanted a tavern burger of his own) was for lunch. I got the grilled cheese with spiced tomato bisque and was oh so pleased. This simple dish went far above my expectations. I’m possibly drooling just thinking about it. My husband, of course, got his tavern burger. He was thrilled. Our last round at the Frontier Tavern was for a «light lunch» so we’d have room for our fanciful dinner(aka we shared a tavern burger and got the house-made chips with onion dip. The chips are definitely recommended.) We were both full and happy as could be. This place has a fun casual menu, a pleasant atmosphere, and a friendly staff. Also, in case I didn’t get my point across, an amazing burger.

The Frontier Tavern is a great place to have a drink and relax at the Bedford Resort. They have several unique cocktails that are prepared well including a smoky margarita. Their marinated olives small plate is nicely paired with almonds. The tavern wings are amazing. They are a large size and they actually give you the whole wing(that’s three pieces). Don’t pass up the 1919 draft root beer on tap — it’s fantastic.

This review is a bit belated but better late than never, right? I came here for lunch with my mom last week — we were staying at the Omni Bedford — and had a lovely time. We had a really late breakfast so we only ordered two things but both were scrumptious. We split the Wild Mushroom Soup(cup for $ 7) and the Pastrami Reuben($ 14). The soup was overpriced for sure, but I give them props for flavor. Definitely the best cream-of-mushroom-esque soup I’ve ever tasted. It was surprisingly filling! The Reuben was ridiculously yummy — lots of pastrami! Definitely one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Oh, and the dish came with fries, although I wish I could’ve tried their house-made chips. Anywho, I’m bummed I didn’t get to try more of their food. I’ll definitely be back for dinner sometime! FYI: the interior’s beautiful and all, but the armchairs aren’t very comfortable! Just giving y’all a heads up. I’m asking for a table next time, ha!

good solid quick food. Yeah it is a bit pricey, but look at the hotel it is in. The food was solid. I actually got the wings and they were really good.(I know its just wings, but they use the type that are the entire wing section, the sauce was very good and the Blue Cheese was exceptional) Had a very nice chicken cesear salad with anchovy, which I always like. The dressing was a little on the weak side of cease for me, but not bad. It is a bar atmosphere in a nice hotel. Had some interesting beers on tap and the people watching is wonderful. And the people watching in wonderful!!!

The Frontier Tavern is a fun place! While staying at the resort, I enjoyed spending an evening hanging out at the Frontier Tavern bonfire. It’s the perfect place to spend a cool spring or fall evening. The interior was well-decorated but has more of a traditional vibe vs. the relaxed vibe outside. However, though I loved the environment, I was underwhelmed by the beverages. I drank several White Russians, and they were all relatively weak but expensive.

My fish and chips were delicious. Our waitress Shannon was great! The doughnut holes were amazing. I liked them with the caramel sauce. We had a great lunch here and would come back in the future. Pros: Doughnut Holes Cons: Not having them on the room service menu!

Spent a lot of time here over the New Years holiday. Pro: table waitstaff, atmosphere, mushroom soup, fries, house dressing and fish & chips. Con: bartenders, misc. items found in salad TWICE, overcooked burgers for 15 bucks, overpriced, even for resort dining.

While staying at the hotel, we wanted to go for a simple option, and the Frontier Tavern delivered. We started with some drinks(a bit pricey, but hey, it’s a fancy hotel bar/restaurant). My lady friend had a glass of wine while I went with a drink made up at the Omni hotels called a «Belmont»(bourbon, Averna, Angostura bitters and orange bitters), which was UBER tasty. I will be teaching myself how to make that myself for consumption at home. But on to the food… The menu was pretty simple, apps, salads/soups, sandwiches, and some full plates. The lady friend ordered a shepherd’s pie with real pulled lamb(cooked to perfection), and I went with the meatloaf sandwich. Mmmmm, meatloaf with mayo, bacon and aged cheddar… awesomeness on some tasty bread. I was not prepared for what was placed before me though. The sandwich was almost as big as my head. I’m not kidding, this thing was humongous. I don’t think I consumed it; it consumed me. I was only able to eat two of the accompanying, house-made ships with truffle shavings. The chips tasted wonderful, I just had no room left after that sandwich. Even with the higher priced drinks($ 15 for a glass of wine), we went back a second night(but ordered lighter fare). Give the tuna tartine a try(alliteration much?). High quality Ahi tuna with a zesty sauce and avocado. All in all, not too shabby for a «tavern». They even have a pool table in back, just look out for the 6 year old trying to hustle you.
