I’m going to kick myself in a year when I can’t get a table for telling you this… This is the best deal on the island! Super cheap beers! A cheap meal that’s huge and tastes amazing and you can sit outside!!!

A bit off the main drag, but well worth a trip. A very chill destination away from the throngs of peeps shopping on the main drag. Service is on point and they have have a great selection of beers and booze. Tunes are run through the bartenders iPod and that is a nice touch too. I didn’t eat, but the food coming out looked very solid. Get off the main drag and give PPP and turn…

Ate here 3 yrs ago and liked it but very disappointed this time. Started off with a warm draft beer but stuffies were good and very large, so ok, chalk the warm beer up to a busy night. Wife ordered a hawaiian burger with no onion or tomato. When it finally arrived at least 40 minutes later it was cold and greasy, and included onion and tomato — plus a salad instead of chips — but she didn’t want or ask for salad. The salad had no dressing, and waitress didn’t come by to check until we were done, so didn’t even eat the salad. When my onion burger arrived it was barely warm, and so greasy that the bottom bun fell into pieces, used 7 napkins to dry my hands by the time I was done. Felt bad for the waitress since she said she wrote the orders up correctly, and not her fault both burgers were sopping with grease. Without my asking she comped for the warm beer, and apologized for the kitchen, so we didn’t short her on the tip. Great atmosphere for a game and prices are affordable but with a little more service and a lot less grease. our meal could have been so much better.

This place was pretty cool. It seemed more like a locals place. We went to have dinner and watch the Patriots beat the Steelers. The food was great. Nancy has a lobster pizza(never saw that before) and I had an enormous rib-eye steak that was perfect. The service was great and the people in there were very friendly. We had a great time.

I was excited to check out poor people’s pub and upon arrival it was everything I expected. Very laid back, pub style with a little bit of attitude that you could pick up from the art on the walls and drink menu– excellent start! Our waitress was friendly but not very attentive, our drinks were never refilled and she seemed to be in a mad rush even though the restaurant was quite dead. I ordered the French onion soup and my date ordered a burger special that had blue cheese and bacon on it. My soup tasted a bit strange– heavy on the bay leaf tones and not so much on the onion. I heard the burger was good but found it strange that we were never asked how he would like it cooked. We got the«junk fries» to split which were artery choking goodness on a plate. A tad difficult to eat due to the unsurmountable Nacho cheese that was put on them(and I normally would be the last person to complain about too much cheese!). Maybe better presentation/plating would work well for the fries so they’re not drowned in cheese. All in all a fun place and you definitely get what you pay for(cheapest on the island by far!)

Came for lunch and sat on the patio. We had the Caesar Salad, pulled pork Mac-and-cheese, the pulled pork sandwich, and the kahuna burger. It was all very tasty, and the service was great. Definitely a re-do next time on Block Island.

Food cost is lower than other places in the area. You get what you pay for! My wife’s burger was smaller than what you would get at McDonald’s. The steak sandwich tasted OK but was way over covered with mayo and soaked garlic french fries. The pitchers of beer were very small in comparison to other places.

Wanted to try some place different on the island this time instead of the usual Ballard’s. Started out with a half order of nachos for lunch. They were pretty good. Loaded with traditional toppings and doused with creamy cheddar cheese. Washed them down with a Belgium type of beer they had on tap call Summer Revival. It was awesome! We were good after that for a while and went back later for dinner after horseback riding. Dinner was great! It was a toss up between Lobster mac&cheese or Lobster pizza for me. I decided to go with the pizza as I’ve never had it before. It was like a Margarita style pizza with huge chunks of Lobster on it. Incredible! I ate the whole thing except for one piece. My boyfriend played it safe and got an Italian sub. He said it was good. Great little pub! Will definitely be back!!!

It was okay. We had pizza for an appetizer — pretty good — could have been cooked another couple minutes. Service is okay — very pleasant, but doesn’t look like the kitchen is helping them much. Got the orders confused — had to ask for salt, pepper, mustard, ketchup. Got our wine after we finished eating. Had grilled cheese — how can you mess that up? Cold and messy. The waitress kept making the excuse that it was busy. Sadly the restaurant was much quieter than we have seen it on the past. Always liked this place — very disappointed.,

Overall, our experience here was a pretty good one. We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 1:00. There was no available seating outside, but we were quickly seated inside the building. The lunch menu is actually pretty substantial, and there was a long list of specials available. However, these were written on a chalkboard on the wall, and given the size of the restaurant(which is big), a list should have been made available in more accessible ways. My partner had the onion burger, which he said was very good. I had the Italian Hero, and it was excellent – lots of toasted meat and cheese. We also tried one of their stuffies, and it was amazing – and huge. Two would easily make a meal. The only drawback is the fact that this is really a «party spot,» and that’s not for everyone. The crowd at the bar was a little loud, and we were quickly joined in the restaurant by a huge group bar-hopping on Block Island. To avoid this, I’d recommend requesting outdoor seating, if it is available. Otherwise, it is well worth a visit.

It was an okay lunch… Wife had their Reuben sandwich which was pretty good but my burger was sub-par… on the menu said was ¼ burger, which by BI standard is on the low side… most I’ve seen were 5 ½oz to ½lb…mine might have been ¼lb but on the bun it was actually two very thin patties… We each had a Jack n Ginger… tasted Ok but expensive by BI standards… Service by our waitress was very good though. Probably would not go there again…

This joint is getting five stars because my husband couldn’t stop talking about their beer and I couldn’t stop talking about their aioli. My brother in law and I both got the steak frites sandwich which was London broil and truffle fries on a baguette with the most delicious aioli. We loved the sandwich and my sister loved her grilled cheese with avocado and tomato. The atmosphere was fun, complete with saloon doors to the bathrooms and the smoker right outside the porch. We will definitely go back and next time I will try the infamous BBQ.

Talk about a letdown. Come to block island look at the reviews and ask around where is the best Lobster Roll? Try the Poor People’s Pub. First bad sign is waitress asks me how do you want it mayo or butter? I stay traditional and say mayo. Would you like fries or an upgrade to a salad. I said salad. I couldn’t have been more disappointed by what arrived at my table. The roll was awful too thick and chewy with bad wilted lettuce on it and the lobster was plain and tasteless. My salad was made up of the same wilted lettuce with two slices of tomato on top you might find on a sandwich. How do places like this get away serving such unappetizing food. Why bother being in the restaurant business? Don’t go beyond the beer and jalapeño poppers.

We stopped in today(on a Saturday trip over to the island). We came for ma late lunch, our party of four was seated right away. Our server was VERY attentive and helpful. The food was great — particularly the BBQ Mac & Cheese Burger and the Poutine Burger. As good as the service was, the kitchen was VERY slow, to the point that even our server commented and apologized for it.

After a string of food disappointments on the island this was a welcome change of pace If you“re into generous serving of unshamfully greasy, finger licking deliciousness at an affordable price look no further. Everything I saw served at the table around us I was tempted to get up and ask for a sample of. We settled on the steak truffle frie sandwich with rosemary, This is difficult to review because it was so damn good. The full serving of steak nestled between the buttery pieces of bread was absolutely cooked to perfection to a perfect medium rare. That was topped with truffle fries which I could have had entire aide order of. Then there are the junk fires with pulled pork. We had the half plate which was more than enough for two. Again way better then ensuring else we had that day.

Went to «the pub» as the locals call it. Had an absolutely wonderful meal. I shared the pretzels with my boo, the honey mustard was sweet, yet the mustard cut through like a knife. The entire appetiser, while simple, was devine. The grilled cheese with the pimento cheese and country ham was delicious, and very cheap given the price of anything else on the island. The service was friendly, however, my server seemed slightly resistant to getting me hot coffee. I would highly recommend this restaurant, despite the minor difficulties.

Great local lunch. Menu is extensive and for bar food it is top notch. We had the BLT, which was great, full of bacon. The pulled pork mac was awesome, the crazy fries they have on the menu rocked too. At the end, we ordered a cookie pie desert that was to die for, if yu are there, get it with ice cream!
