Easily the best vegetarian restaurant we’ve been to on the Front Range. Highly recommended.

The most delicious vegetarian food! Service was great. Super cool and cozy restaurant. We went there with our 6 year old boys and were very well treated! We all loved the food! Will definitely come back!

Leaf deserves all 5 stars. The highlights: 1. Emphasis on local, sustainable food. 2. Gorgeous atmosphere, indoor and patio.(One of my favorite locations for evening dining — twinkling lights outside!) 3. Easy to find near Pearl Street. 4. Attentive, personable staff who are able to make substitutions to dishes upon request. 5. Gourmet vegan options.(Entire menu is vegetarian, but vegan and gluten-free options are clearly labeled.) My favorites so far: — Almond Milk Chai — Sushi Salad — Zucchini /Spaghetti Squash Pad Thai — Seasonal Crisp (All of these are gluten-free and vegan.) This is my favorite restaurant in Boulder. I take all of my out-of-town friends to Leaf.

I don’t rate service, ambiance, cleanliness and wait times; they are too variable. I can put up with anything if the food is good. It is all about the food– that’s it. All of my ratings are based on vegan options only. Notes: Those crab cakes… Honestly, I wish I just ordered like 15 of them. They said they made them vegan for me. The entrée was fine, not a big enough portion. I would come back if I was passing through again.

Not only was everything delicious, it was beautifully presented too. Service was genuinely friendly and very knowledgable about the food. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and very pretty. As someone always on the hunt for great vegetarian restaurants I can eat at w/omnivorous family members that we all will enjoy, this spot definitely hit the mark. Will be back for the amazing flat bread and avocado/mushroom tartare w/endive very soon!

Something has happened to Leaf. We went a month ago and found it mildly disappointing. Tonight there were things that were almost inedible. We noticed that people at the table next to us complained to the server about the food. Service was icy, perhaps because of the food issues the restaurant seems to be facing. The kale salad was so over salted(and I like salt) that I could practically not eat it, yet it was better than the paella I had as a main course. There was something wrong with the seasoning, and it was unevenly distributed. The brussel sprouts in it were almost uncooked, and next to the rice, that just didn’t work. There seemed to be only brussel sprouts and rice. The carrot cake was fine, even good. The peanut butter cheesecake was heavy and mealy and unappealing. It is a big loss to our town as we used to really look forward to coming to Leaf. As I look at the reviews, some eexcellent, some like mine pretty bad, I have to wonder if there is something going on that we don’t understand — different chefs? It is odd. It was sad to have to write this bad review but it was our second bad experience.

Underwhelming. Expensive for what it was. Didn’t care for the flavors. Ordered the zucchini pad thai and the mushroom wellington. The carrots and potatoes were gritty and gave us the impression that they weren’t washed properly.

So disappointed with this restaurant! I expected more according to other costumers reviews! Food was ok but I couldn’t find anything special. In my opinion, it was pricey and too much formal.

Leaf has an interesting variety of vegan dishes using healthful ingredients and preparation. I ordered the crab cake, which while sort of tasty, bore no resemblance whatsoever to any crab cake(vegan or crabby) that these two Marylanders have ever had. It would more appropriately be called a salty dill bean sandwich. Skip it for sure, and try the delicious Reuben instead.

This place is amazing. I have a lot of food allergies and autoimmune issues, and their menu was very accommodating, welcoming, and so was the service. The food is fresh, tasty, and I love having a meal but I can feel good about — one that won’t make me sick. I went there with my partner in the evening before our wedding, and they made us feel so special.

Had been a bit leery of Leaf after a friend told me they had a bad experience here with some cheese that was funky. I decided to give it a whirl and glad I did. Had the beet appetizer salad which was great and the artichoke fettuccine main dish. Other person had tempeh main and I believe a mushroom app. We both really liked our meal. Total was $ 60 including tip for everything. Service was a bit meh, but efficient. I’d probably be back, agree with other reviewer Ali who said it deserved 3.5 stars.

We had: Mushroom-Avocado Tartar Vegan Crab Cake Sandwich Jamaican Jerk Tempeh And they were all excellent! I strongly suggest trying the vegan crab cakes. The restaurant is very cute, and cozy with a nice outside patio and friendly staff. If I return to Boulder I will defiantly come back!

On a recent trip to Denver, I had to make a stop here based on some reviews I have seen for best vegetarian places in the USA. I am a life long vegetarian and my Serbian husband eats all types of meat and pleasantly agreed to come along. I had made reservations and was very annoyed when the couple in front of us who had NO reservations were given the last outside table on a gorgeous day and we were relegated to the inside. Whats the point of a reservation requesting to sit outside if someone can just stroll in and get a great seat on a Friday night? We ordered: Vegan Spinach soup: my husband’s favorite! Pimento Cheese poppers: DELICIOUS with an amazing chutney Curried gnocchi which was ok but on top of a terrible sweet pea yogurt Sushi salad: AMAZING flavors! The vegan bread was also excellent and overall it was a nice experience but do think expensive for vegetarian food. I will go back if in town

In Denver it’s all windshield wiper flailing rain. Winds hittin’ 70 mph. Tornado warnings. Flash floods. Hail. In Boulder it’s me sitting inside the cozy Leaf Restaurant at 16th and Iris with my son having 2 absolutely spectacular appetizers(the curried gnocchi in sweet pea and yogurt sauce along with the pimento cheese poppers) chased down with a wonderful locally crafted draft of Sanitas Red Ale. Followed that up with their Jamaican Jerk Tempeh(which while very good didn’t ring my chimes quite as loudly as those incredible appetizers), and was too stuffed for dessert. Definitely a repeat visit is in order. This place gets national rave reviews and has apparently been around for a long time even though I’d never been there before. Bottom line: It’s vegetarian but doesn’t taste like it(if ya know what I mean:). Sign me, David«Kale me up, Scotty» M.

Super good and super fast for lunch! I stopped in and needed a fast lunch. But also not fast like crap food fast. I decided to try this place and ordered the crab cake sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich itself was totally vegan and it had similar consistency to a crab cake. The sauce went well and the baguette was crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. The side salad was simple but really good with a vinaigrette, pickled onion and sunflower seeds. The food came out really fast and the service was great. Not all the food here is vegan. And for a $ 10 lunch, it was a great deal!

Came here for a few drinks and have eaten here before. Very pleased with the service, speed, and food quality. But I have to say, the Caipirinhas are what I have to race about. If you’re looking for a place that does good Caipirinhas this should be one of your primary stops. Either the Ypioca or Leblon is an equally good drink. Eu faço caipirinhas em casa e este é o primeiro lugar que encontrei aqui em Boulder que sabe fazer quase perfeitamente.

So disappointed with Leaf! The menu posted on the door had some delicious sounding offerings. Unfortunately, the brunch menu that was actually in use had very little to offer, both in taste and ingenuity. The waitress, to her credit, was able to get the chef to make the braised artichoke for my wife, which was very good. However, the accompanying risotto was not. My egg sandwich, while good tasting, was so run of the mill that I forgot I was even on Pearl Street.

An exquisite midpoint to a rainy, snowy, sunny day in Boulder. Always on the lookout for vegetarian vittles, I checked out this place with a friend before we tackled Mount Sanitas. The happy hour vibe was nice and low key, with a great price point as well. After ordering a couple drinks, we decided on the«crab» cake slider, the avocado tartar, and the gnocchi. While it was all amazing, the gnocchi was absolutely out of this world. I could have eaten another seven orders of it. Seriously. Overall, I loved the space and the service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. I imagine that dinner and brunch here are equally impressive and next time in Boulder, I just might have to stop by again.

I was in Colorado for a week and ate here twice. That’s rare for me. This place is good. I would love to be in the kitchen to see what they do to their Tempeh. I’ve had it countless times at similar places, but they absolutely perfected it. Later when we came for lunch the server suggested something that had been in «Vegetarian Magazine.» I guess they’re getting some national play. They deserve it. In a world where similar places are popping out all over, it’s now easy to get lost. Leaf stands on its own. I’d suggest this place to anyone who loves healthy, well made food.

Went in for a solo dinner. I wasn’t in the mood for anything from the dinner menu, but they have happy hour from 3 – 6, so I ordered a few small things. The seaweed salad was awesome and so was the mushroom and avocado tartare. I didn’t care for the Harissa tofu. They have a great wine and cocktail list, but I went with a cup of white tea. Something about a mountain cloud? My bill was only $ 20 for a very filling dinner and good tea. Will definitely return for happy hour.
