We had a great dinner here with family and friends. It really is a fun place for groups. We sat at the hibachi table where they cook the food right in front of you. The chefs are delightful and have the usual tricks plus some new ones that our hard to impress teenage kids even found funny. I had the filet with fried rice and veggies that was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Hubs(who is a sushi snob) thought the rolls he ordered were not only great because of the taste but because they were huge. Other members of our group were equally as impressed by their dining experience. Good time and good food had by all.

The point of having a reservation is to be seated when you arrive. Wish I could’ve tasted their food however had to leave due to not being seated at the time my reservation was made for. Just a warning for those attempting to plan ahead.

The best Japanese restaurant in Bozeman! My daughter and I love it we go there often.

The sushi side is very good. Extensive menu. Every thing we have tried has been fresh & delicious. Great place to meet after work for drink & appetizer. Nice staff.

This place is a complete disaster. Their signature roll, «the Bozeman,» was left in the fryer and completely(over) cooked all of the fish that was intended to be served raw. It also destroyed the rice. It was a sticky nasty starchy mess. Service was a disaster, clearly no individual servers fault but the restaurants overall organization/ownership as a whole. I had to ask the bar multiple times for a menu, a drink, and my bill. So I had to interrupt flow like 8 times over the course of an hour to get through a beer and a sushi roll. The waiting area is undersized, so waiting parties were overcrowded into the dining areas. My spot at the bar was completely surrounded by people awkwardly waiting for their table, shoulder to shoulder. Plus, it’s a chain. What did I expect? I usually give restaurants 2 – 3 tries. This was my first trip to wasabi and I will never return. Eating at wasabi could be compared to a seemingly endless nightmare.

So far the best Japanese food in Bozeman. It’s a combined tepanyaki grill with sushi bar and other Japanese dishes. Kind of pan Japanese. Daughter and I had sushi. It was good, and not outrageously expensive. Wife had a steak from the grill. They’ve got a decent full bar, with a dozen specialty cocktails. I had the lychee martini, which was decent. Next time in town is eat there again.

My sister-in-law and I took my kids and hers to Wasabi for a fun dinner out. It was my first time and was excited to try it. We made a reservation ahead of time because I had heard that waiting times can be lengthy. We were seated, drink orders made right away with friendly and prompt service. The menus were hefty — as in heavy and awkward to place on the table with plates, drinks, napkins, etc. I ordered my kiddos the chicken and steak hibachi, and I got the shrimp and steak hibachi. Our chef came out, he was friendly and did a few tricks for us. A ton of fun to watch. What also makes the atmosphere is the craziness going on around at neighboring tables. Our dinner was made quickly and the chef moved on. Overall, it was good food and fun service. I had heard mixed reviews from friends that they got food poisoning and won’t return. I can see how that could happen with a chef who doesn’t cook food thoroughly. The grills appeared very clean and the hoods up above were spotless. We never got sick, so I guess that part is hit or miss. We got a ton of food and left happy. Things that could make it better: — paper menus? Just a thought. It would make it easier for kids especially. They received menus, but being that the kids were small, the menus were just in the way.

This place is terrible, yaki-soba was like eating top ramen with some kind of weird sauce, tempura shrimp was okay, sushi was okay. If you want sushi go to Dave’s Sushi or Wantanabe. This was our first and last time here.

We had a delicious lunch here with Song(aka Tony) as our talented chef. The shrimp was tasty, the steak was cooked perfection — as ordered, and the salmon was excellent. The veggies were a little over cooked, but maybe it’s because we distracted the chef. You think? Come and give Wasabi’s a try! It’s an experience!

I’ve eaten here twice, once last August and again two weeks ago. Both times were with groups of 8 – 10 family members. We were all pleased the first time – it was a fun show, the portions were generous, and a variety of dishes were well prepared. It isn’t what you’d expect of a first-rate Asian place in a major city, but it was good fare. The next visit was different. First, no one answered the phone(even during business hours), so one of us went in person and made the reservation. When we arrived, we were seated in the very chilly dining area. It was so cold I ate in a pea coat. The staff had one poor space heater laboring away by the windows, to very little effect. Our request to be seated elsewhere was ignored, despite open tables all around. The wait staff was clearly overwhelmed, and the service suffered for it. The food was fine, but definitely short of what it was our first visit. What is more, we went there for my son’s birthday and told the staff about that THREE times. He was looking forward to the fun little rigamarole they do there, but it never happened. In the end we were so cold and disappointed we just left – never to return.

We were invited to this place becuz one of my friend’s friend used to work there. So we had a nice reserved counter area. So here is what happened. The food. Yes there’s a lot of choice and it seems that they did made them look tempting for people who have never had any Japanese food. They all looks very fancy. I ve been to so many of them and I personally know Japanese food. As for the taste, it was very Americanized. Nothing special. Some of the sushi are way more over priced. They need to make the money for those seafood fresh transport cost no doubt. However, I still had a major discharge after I got home. Apparently the food is not fresh or clean. And I knew it when I saw the salmon. They look so dead. — — — — I give it a 2 star only because our friend reserved spot for us and we got discount as well. But for me, I wouldn’t even try it in the first place
