Delicious cappuccino at a good price. I’m spoiled for good coffee after having one most mornings on the way to the train.

Solid coffee if you are out — I would not recommend planning on sitting down or staying in. very cramped.

If you have ten minutes to stand in line for a regular coffee, while the guy makes coffee for all his buddies in line behind you, I hope it’s a great cup of coffee. I complained and left. And got laughed at by the guy and his buddies. Gross.

Methinks this spot is like the base camp for Park Slope’s limousine liberals. I hauled ass getting out of there this morning as a gang of friends(of the owner, I believe) started piling up too high, blabbering on and on about … well, y’know, the same ol’ same ol’ they’ve learned about in them fancy books and charitable work and whatnot. But hey, I’d take it over a Trump-loving spot any day. Apart from that, this was a charming spot to walk into early this Sunday morning. Martin was a tad awkward, but polite, and the design and décor of the place, paired with the calming, totally NOT run-of-the-mill classical music, made for a lovely start to my day. The large coffee comes in a giganto mug(unlike other coffee shops where you can barely tell the difference between large and small), and their almond croissant is on point. There’s a bar attached to the exterior where can lock up your bike safe from the 5th ave traffic, or use to tie up a dog leash. The kids who came in were well-behaved, esp considering this is the land of over-parented, over-privileged youth. Parents actually mind their children here, holy SH*T! Prices are standard. There are newspapers a plenty to borrow. I didn’t see any wifi, but didn’t care to ask as the atmosphere made me content to simply sit, read, and enjoy my coffee and croissant. With the gross amounts of coffee shops attempting to achieve that vibe, in theory it seems so odd that this concept is rarely achieved — but this café makes it work. I would definitely come back… just before 9am, when all the political clucking started ;).

Café Martin is a cool little coffee shop. Good drinks, friendly atmosphere, the owner is a really nice guy. I always walk the extra few blocks to get down to Martin’s no matter the weather.

Reasonably priced, usually quiet, Bernie supporter. What more do you want? Still, it spark slope so yuppies and stroller moms will congregate until late morning.

The place has an nice ambiance. Would be a good place to sit. The coffee is pretty terrible though. The machine is very old and doesn’t look like it has been cleaned in a long time. The milk comes off a shelf and tastes like UHT. The service is good enough but not hugely friendly.

Second time to this place… Atmosphere is small and cozy. Not much seating. $ 2.75 for small latte not bad, a bit strong for my liking, $ 3.75 for large that’s the size of a bowl. Will return again.

Small café with good service and more importantly great coffee. The owner whom I’m assuming is Martin makes the coffee. It’s pretty much one man show. He’s quick though, courteous, and makes a killer latte. This is my café spot now whenever I’m around. Grab s bagel from bagel world and a cup from café Martin. Also the prices are good too! Less than 4 bucks for a double shot latte in s huge cup. Everyone else is charging an arm for that.

Pretty decent local coffee house. If I ever need a coffee, this is where I get my fix. The beans are roasted a little darker than I prefer, but when I need a pick-me-up, this works out perfectly. Overall, nice place. Martin could be a tad friendlier, but that is part of his charm I guess.

Nice inexpensive café latte. 275 wasn’t bad. Relaxing atmosphere. The cup holder was a bit too small though

This place throws me off because it’s a cute cozy place with great coffee but like everyone has said the main barista just ruins it for me. His personality is really cold and he seems annoyed with anyone who comes in. I’ve tried honestly a dozen times to make it not awkward but then I realized there’s about a million other places to get coffee without trying make the barista not hate me. Oh also no wifi and it’s across the street from a middle school so avoid this place around lunchtime at all costs.

The coffee was delicious but the attitude from the barista had very condescending attitude. Won’t come back even though I really enjoyed my coffee.

Great Americano at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere — quiet and quaint even though it’s on a busy street. The best of NYC right here in Park Slope. Another Brooklyn gem! I’ll be coming back for sure.

If there is one word I can use to describe Café Martin, it’s «atmosphere». As soon as you enter the dark wood interior of this shop you feel transported into another world. There was some classic music playing the day I went(for video gamers, it was reminiscent of some of what you’d hear in Bioshock). Between that and the signage on the walls this place definitely made you feel comfortable. I ordered a coffee to go and I have to say the barista on duty that day seemed very irritated by everything around him. Maybe he was having an off day, but for example when someone asked him what music was playing, he shrugged and gave the guy a death stare like he had just asked something incredibly offensive. When I asked for my coffee he seemed to sigh as if I had asked for something very bothersome. Were it not for this display of behavior, I’d be giving this place four stars. The coffee was delicious and I really enjoyed it. I would totally go back for the coffee but given how many other places there are in the area for the same thing I may wind up going somewhere friendlier instead.

Fantastic coffee in the slope. Excellent beans, small but perfect atmosphere, and he sure can put together one fine latte. We often come in for a bag of beans and enjoy the spoils(aka a free latte with every bag purchase) while we are here. Somehow we can never replicate the great latte made in house, but hey, that’s why Café Martin really is as good as it gets. Great spot for some great coffee when you are in Park Slope.

Martin is the best– old school café in the best way. A true neighborhood spot. One time I left my cash at home– it was not a problem. Catch me next time– he said. Great coffee. Poured the old fashioned way over a Melita filter. Great parties.

Deserves more than a cursory review done on an iPhone but is nonetheless an exceedingly lovely café that’s got the right idea: simple, classic coffee drinks and an unpretentious quiet atmosphere rivaled by few cafés I’ve frequented in Brooklyn or elsewhere. +1 for buttery croissants and pain au chocolat. Edit: Take my advice and don’t take your coffee to go if you can. Sit, enjoy it, remain free of the urge to pull out your cell phone. Go with a friend and make a pact to both turn off your phones. You’ll enjoy it even more.
