This is my 2nd time here and I have to say both were awesome. The food is so fresh and flavorful! The service is great and friendly. I have to say the cupcakes are almost to pretty to eat… well almost! Delicious! Great place to grab dinner or drinks.

Drop everything and come see Troy and John. Fried artichokes are amazing as well as the grilled cheese and Korean BBQ burger. Awesome food.

We received quick service on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was about 25% full when we came in approx. 7:30pm. Our server was polite, fast and this was after a long day on the job, we learned. A+ We started with the sloppy joe appetizer(see pic). Tasty and hit the spot. For 2 of us we only eat about half. I’d say 3 or 4 adults could sample this appetizer without anyone going hungry. We both ordered the Bacon Cheese Burgers with bbq sauce(1 with the hot and 1 with the mild version). We’d give an A to the burgers. My only comment here is that the bun seemed huge. Maybe scale the bun back or go with some type of flat option? Service and food were both very good. Nice time and pleasant experience.

Bagger Dave’s is a nice place that offers ample seating, good food, good beer, friendly staff and a never ending choo choo train that goes around the restaurant giving you something to stare at and ponder life. I have been here several times and it is one of my go to places for whenever a particular relative visits. He always orders the Trainwreck Burger with everything, large fries with everything at least two pints of Mountain Town Brewing Co. TrainWreck Ale, and to top it all off, a side of corn chips and salsa. During those visits, I thoroughly admire how he can put all that down. It is baffling to say the least. I have only had the burgers and always get the ‘choose your own adventure’ burger as I like to call it. Each table has sheets that you fill out and choose what type, style and everything else that creates your special burger. I always get their fries as well which are good but I do not like how they are served in a bag. They seem to quickly get moist, soggy and cold this way. They do have several good sauces to dip into, you just have to find the one you like. Their Santa Fe Chipotle sauce is a pretty tasty choice. After doing the ‘choose your own adventure’ burger about 5 times I can now make one hell of a tasty burger! TIP — if you want something on the side, write ONSIDE next to the item. They used to offer a choice of small or large patty but now they do not do that any longer. This is a big bummer for the people that do not want to eat a large burger but rather a smaller burger with a smaller price tag. They also offer an array of pre-designed ‘gourmet’ burgers as well. The seating it a bit odd. I prefer booths over tables and some of the booths have adjacent booths next to them that are much higher, yet the separation wall is low. The people in the high booths cannot help but to stare down at you. As luck would have it, every time I sit in the lower booths there is a kid that can’t stop starring down watching me eat the whole time. It can at times be hard to get the upper booths because they are closer to the bar, TV’s and that area is livelier. The beer select is OK. Last few times I was disappointed with the selection on tap and how they seem to not carry many of the beers from local famous breweries, even though they advertise it outside. Lately they seem to have more of the fruity style beers which I am not typically a fan of. Good thing they do always carry the TrainWreck Ale by Mountain Town Brew. That is a decent beer but again, not my favorite(plus it is pricey). Thursday you can get 50% off craft beers all day. So, all in all it is a nice place that serve pretty good food but from what other’s have told me, it could be better. The burgers are OK but again, nothing that makes you crave coming back. I do think this place has gone downhill since they first started up. Mainly, the menu changes and lack of options, yet the prices go up. The place is overpriced I believe. It is hard to get in and out without throwing down money that would fit more of an upscale restaurant. With that said, I do not come here much more except when my relative comes into town and we have made it a tradition to go here. Other than that I will pass.

Turkey(Bleu Buffalo) burger was pretty good. I’d eat it again. The fries were solid as well. They seemed to be understaffed and it took a while to take our drink order but we weren’t in a rush. For boasting craft beer so much, they should serve a better and wider selection.

I have to say that the food was less then okay. Apps that came had harden melted cheese on top. When pointed out, they took it back and put it in the microwave. All I can say is that the beer is good and local. Would never go back for the food.

My husband and I had a bowl of chili and a chicken sandwich burger and paid $ 24. We each had water(the water was clean and very good) but That is way too much for a burger and a soupy small bowl of chili. and it was just average quality food. We actually ate at the new east Beltline restraunt and I could not believe how loud it is. It’s like walking into a dance club. The Mac and cheese upgrade was not very good. It had some type of mayonnaise in it that was just disgusting.

If you like food in your hair, get in line for this place! I had a piece of black hair nearly make it all the way into my stomach… while still hanging out of my mouth. Yes, it was THATLONG! I can’t say that I’ve ever been so disgusted in my life. And to make matters worse, you can watch the cooks preparing your food… even after swallowing a 2 foot long piece of hair, the girl who was the rightful owner of the hair, continued to cook with her flowing locks of black hair freely blowing in the fans above the kitchen… the manager felt SO bad that he took my French fries off the bill… nothing else. I still left $ 40 poorer, disgusted, and with an empty stomach. I will not be returning.

I really wanted to love this place… I went here when they first opened and thought I was in love… I was wrong. Having been out of state a couple of years I had forgotten all about this place and what it was like. I was in town and needed a fun place to eat with a friend. We both love a good burger, and love the idea of building our own. First off, we were seated right away, the place was almost empty. We sat there several minutes when a manager strolled by and asked us about our drinks. A few minutes later we finally see our server with our drinks. It was time to get down to business and create our burgers! I had it all figured out, tallied it up and realized my dream burger(just the burger, fries cost extra) was going to cost me twelve bucks. I was so sad. I had to take off a few topping to stay inside my budget. Our not very pleasant server took our orders, and I opted for Sweet Potato Chips instead of fries. Our order comes out, the burgers were, okay. I was still a little sad. My chips were a tad burnt. Would I go back? Maybe. At least I know what to expect. They do have plenty of free toppings, and it is possible to make a decent burger for about $ 9-$ 10.

Horrible horrible service and food! Visiting from out of town and I understand if your wait staff is short staffed for the day, however when I am going to spend $ 10 on a turkey burger which clearly states on the menu there at two patties and we only get one patty isn’t right. Then my other family member orders a regular burger that came out extremely cold and practically still frozen and my toddlers chicken was cold and hard as a rock. The manager did take«half» off our turkey burger since there was only one patty, which is ridiculous, it should of been taken off the whole tab. Surely when I come back to town to visit my family I will never go to this restaurant again. Highly I recommended.

This place was decent. I had a make your own burger(not really, I got chicken) and it was pretty good. My boyfriend had a burger and it was a bit annoying that a place that specializes in burger can’t cook one to the temperature ordered. He ordered medium and it came very well done. Kind of a pet peeve of mine. The sweet potato chips were good but kinda silly that they cost $ 3 more. For two sandwiches and an order of chips it was more than I would have expected. We decided we probably wouldn’t go back, we’ve had better.

Just finished lunch here with my husband. I don’t understand all of the so-so reviews on Unilocal! We were pleasantly surprised with our burgers and fries. Great atmosphere, lots of options for burgers, and plenty of craft beers to choose from. Their root beer was also delicious! We will definitely be back.

I had a bacon bbq burger with their fresh cut fries. Was very good. Wanted it well done and it came out a little pink so I asked it get it cooked a little bit longer and they got right on it. At first I thought it was pricey as you have to buy the fries separate but it definitely tastes worth it. First time in Grand Rapids.

Really slow customer service. I went on a Friday during the lunch hour. It was not very busy, but there were times my waiter disappeared. I ordered a drink and didn’t receive it until my food came when I asked for it again. I was not offered a refill. I ordered the Tuscan Chicken, which was good, but not something I’d go out of my way to get again. The one bright spot for this chain is their options if you’re trying to eat healthy. There are lots of low calorie options.

This restaurant makes a solidly good burger and fries. I was also impressed they make their own sodas. I appreciate that they had a 4 oz. and 8 oz. version of their burger in case you want a smaller patty, and they have a ton of creative sauces to add to the fries and sandwiches. You can also order your burger as a «bowl» without the bun if you’re not into carbs or gluten. I ordered a «build your own» burger with fries for a casual work dinner. I got Caramel sauce with the fries just to try it, and it was just okay. Better with ketchup. I really liked my burger, with bacon and a fried egg, and it was cooked as I liked it. Overall it was a really good burger, but I still think I prefer Five Guys. I appreciate them being a Michigan-focused chain and offering a wide variety of options and craft beers.

Although I wanted to love it, my first experience at Bagger Dave’s was pretty good, not great. I had the fancy schmancy grilled cheese, which would’ve been wonderful if not for the onions. I like onions – I do – but these were undercooked(crunchy, not caramelized), and the sandwich was overstuffed with them. My husband had the BBQ turkey sandwich on his first trip, and the Great American Cheeseburger on a later visit. Both were ok, he says.(He does suspect that the burger made him a little sick, but we have no way to prove this.) The fries… you can tell they’re good(similar to Five Guys’ fries), but ours were a touch overcooked. I had one of their orange cream craft sodas. It was delicious, but it didn’t taste«special,» if that makes any sense. It could’ve been Fanta for all I knew. Finally, my favorite part of the visit: the mac ‘n’ cheese! We ordered it as an app, but I ended up loving it more than my entrée. Perhaps I will get it as a meal next time since it was the tastiest thing I had tried there. Bagger Dave’s food is fair in taste, portion, price, and service, but I wasn’t wowed. While it’s not on the top of my list for places to try again, I wouldn’t not go again either.

Here are the basics about Bagger Dave’s: they are a casual eating, gourmet hamburger place with local craft beers on tap. They are famous for their thick cut, skins on, fries and dipping sauces. They offer other standard lunch options — salads, chili, soups, and mac and cheese. The atmosphere is train themed with vintage pictures of trains and a real working train that runs along the top of the dining area. Now the real question: Is the food good? Yeah, it’s ok. Is the food worth the price… meh; I’m inclined to say no. I’m not a penny pincher when it comes to food, but I had a hard time justifying the price for my burger and fries lunch meal; nothing about it jumped out at me as being so special that I’d be willing to pay a little more for it. I feel like I can pack more taste into a smaller price tag when it comes to lunches in the area. That being said, if you are a burger person, you may find it to be perfectly worth it. The dining room is clean and tidy. The staff was friendly although I thought they could’ve had more servers as ours was a little slow trying to handle several tables at lunch. They don’t advertise themselves as being healthy and true to that, my black bean burger was heaped with cheese and the creamy Siracha dipping sauce for my potato chip-like sweet potato files, was tasty and rich. Will I be back? If I find myself with a group and I lose the coin toss as to where to go for lunch, then yes, I may have to come back. Until then, I’ll probably keep scoping out the area for something a little more memorable.

There is not an option to do a zero star but if there was I would give it. It’s Saturday February 14 at 1pm and there’s a 40 top in the bar area. Kids hockey team with parents is here and I’m sitting at the bar with my wife and I’m listening to the worst language ever from the staff because they can not manage a big group. This place is empty apart from us and the hockey team. The dining area was empty and another hockey team came in and I had to sit at the bar and listen to all the bitching(sorry) about another big group. This place is in a hotel district with Patterson ice arena a block away and should be willing and able to keep up with large groups. The potential 30 top walked out(I would have too). ADVICE… IFYOUR A LARGEGROUPAVOIDTHISPLACEATALLCOSTS. I played hockey as a kid and past college and eating with my teammates was and is one of of my better memories.
