Good pizza, good calzones, good service! They stepped up their quality since my last review and are as good as they used to be.

Ordered delivery didn’t know it took them an hour to cook and deliver a pizza when your right up the road. Took them an hour and 45 minutes to deliver the guy who answered the phone was rude and rushed me. Delivery guy was a dick shoved the food in our face and ran away and said bye rudely. The food was cold when we got it. Won’t be doing business with this place again.

We went to try this place as we enjoy a good Sunday evening with mozzarella sticks and a pepperoni pizza. We walked in to be told they no longer serve mozzarella sticks even though it’s on the menu. We tried the cheese bread instead and they are the reason for any stars at all. I have had good pepperoni pizza all over the metroplex and their pizza has a long way to go. The pizza had minimal cheese and very little flavor. The pepperoni was overpowered by the masses of over spiced pizza sauce.

I have eaten here 2x both times the counter person greeted me with a smile and enthusiasm like they really enjoyed their job. I normally like deep dish but their thin crust pizza was delicious, with bursting flavors. Love this place!

We tried this place for the first time and had an ok experience but I’ll keep looking for a while. We got two extra large pizzas — one pepperoni and one Blake and Cade, which was pesto, chicken, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, tomatoes, and mozzarella. All the toppings were great and tasted great — flavors really came through beautifully. I don’t like pizza that is too loaded with cheese, and this wasn’t so if you like a boatload of cheese you’d want to ask for extra cheese. The pepperoni was a little greasy. A little greasy is part of pepperoni ‘s charm, of course. This was a more than that, noticeable but not«Ick.» They got our order right — I never take that for granted. Delivery was prompt, very upbeat delivery guy. The pizza was just too soft to be all that good. Not doughy but definitely totally limp. It felt like eating a tasty but very soggy sandwich. I was tempted to try to crisp it up in the oven but you really shouldn’t have to do that. We got tiramisu — it was kind of the same. I don’t know if they make it themselves or buy it, but the flavor was really good. Unfortunately the ladyfingers were seriously watery. Overall it was more or less ok, but with all the choices close to UNT I’ll take a pass next time.

This 3-star is an average between my husband’s 4-star and my 2. He had a Cade & Blake specialty pizza on gluten free crust. The pizza had pesto, artichokes, mushrooms, chicken, mozzarella, and tomato. The crust was tasty with a nice crunch. I had the vegetable pizza on standard crust. There were plenty of vegetables including black olives, spinach, red, yellow, and green bell pepper, mushrooms, and tomato. The problem was that the crust was vey thin and could not hold up to the vegetables which made it soggy. It was also slightly undercooked which didn’t help matters. I had to use three napkins to sop up the moisture under the crust before I could even take a bite to taste it. The outer edge of the standard crust was crispy but the crust in general was bland. The pizza can be pricey but they do have a buy one at regular menu price, get the second for a reduced price on medium through extra large. We may try them again but I will opt for a gluten free crust and toppings that do not include high water content vegetables.

The short story treated poorly by Taylor(he said he was the new GM) on some food we ordered for delivery that we never received. Called the store spoke with Tyler briefly then was hung up on.

Best GLUTENFREE pizza I’ve ever tasted!!! I just recently had to start going on the gluten-free diet. This gluten free pizza crust tasted so delicious and convincing that I thought maybe for a second it was the real thing and not gluten-free; but my partner, who had ordered a regular, glutenated crust, confirmed that mine was indeed gluten-free. It just tastes that good that it’s basically the real thing but without the gluten ;) Thank you, Palio’s of Denton for offering such a delicious, gluten-free crust option to make this gluten-free diet easier to manage :) Regarding my rating, as a gluten-free option, I’d give it five stars; but as an overall pizza joint, I give it four stars, because the ingredients are not as fresh as ingredients you’d get on a pizza in Italy.(I was just there!) The olives look and taste canned.(Have you ever tasted a fresh olive? It’s delicious!) Also, the pineapples looked and tasted canned too. However, the pizza dough seemed fresh and possibly the sauce too. Needless to say, it’s a hodge-podge of fresh and canned ingredients. For that I’d give them three stars, but I met in the middle between the delicious gluten-free crust and the canned toppings and gave them four stars.

This place was great. My family really enjoyed it! I was surprised and enjoyed about the fact they had gluten free crust for my daughter, so she got to enjoy pizza too. The salad was so fresh and I always enjoy putting the dressing on myself. The best part was the young man who helped us out, it was our first time here, he gave suggestions, showed us sizes, and answered any questions we had. The the atmosphere was fun even in the bathroom. I can’t wait to come back.

I’m in town on business, and didn’t want to go out, so I asked the person at the front desk at my hotel who had the best pizza in town. They told me to call Palio’s and have them deliver. I was disappointed when I called because I was incorrectly told that they have an exorbitant delivery charge, which they don’t. As a result, I decided not to order, and I wrote a very negative Unilocal review. Within just a few minutes of posting the negative review, I received a personal phone call from Joel, the manager of the Denton, TX location. He apologized for the miscommunication, and asked me if they could have the opportunity to deliver supper to me. I hadn’t had a chance to order from someone else, so I agreed, and I am very glad I did. The pizza was every bit as good as the front desk person said it is(I ordered the meat and cheese deluxe). This company obviously really cares about it customers, and produces a really tasty za. We are here for 4 days, and I’m thinking I might have to try something else from them tomorrow.

I gave this place a shot because of a Groupon deal and it was pretty darn yummy. I got the Nutty Chicken pizza. I’ve never heard of cashews as a pizza topping but it was awesome. Ultimately for me, it’s about the crust. I like thin crust but not cracker thin and they nailed that. Big thumbs up there. Overall, great taste, ingredients seemed fresh, friendly staff, and good atmosphere.

Pretty solid pizza place. We stopped here while traveling on 35 and were pretty pleased with our experience. We ordered a dinner salad to share and it was huge! It was also full of fresh cucumbers, olives, and tomatoes. We ordered a medium pizza to share and it was plenty for the two of us. If you have more than two, I’d probably order a large or get multiple pizzas.(They do have a special when you order more than one pizza of any size– medium or larger.) We got the Noah pizza. It had chicken, bacon, caramelized onions, and«pink sauce.» The toppings were really good, but I didn’t taste or see much of this«pink sauce.» The crust made this pizza though. It was cooked perfectly with the perfect crunch.

Moved to the area about 6 – 7 months ago and used to live near the Frisco location. Huge Palios fans. We gave this location a try and great service. Great atmosphere too. The little fire place made the ambiance my style! My husband of course loved the basketball games on the screen above :) I also made the choice to become gluten free since I feel better not having gluten and the fact Palios offers gluten free pizza was a huge plus. The hostess was super helpful and knowledgable about the gluten free toppings as I am all new to this. It was divine and I don’t feel like my pizza was different due to my choice. Full in flavor and excellent. My favorite is the buffalo chicken pizza and I didn’t get ranch. Delicious! We will definitely return to this location and found out they deliver! Even better! Local fav! Plus BYOB! Thanks for a great time!

Been to a couple of Palio’s and unfortunately this one is at the bottom of the list. When you first walk in you don’t get the same warm, inviting feel as the one in Frisco or Plano. Feels dirty and the plants were looking drabby. As we ordered, I looked around and there were papers on the floor, it looked like it had not been swept in a while. Three tables had wads of paper to keep them from wobbling. When we sat the windows had grease stains on them. It’s no wonder the place was empty. Both the manager and employee could have kept busy by improving the look of the place instead of just standing behind the counter. The food was good though.

Food is pretty good, but the service poor and the staff not very friendly. Probably will stay away from this location. Edit ½/2015 I initially had a bad experience with this restaurant, however after my Unilocal review I was contacted by a district manager who really went out of her way to fix the problem. Not only that but I was treated to a free pizza. They got a customer back! Will eat there again.

I am happy to find Palio’s Café. I am in Denton several times a year and often need a place to go for a weekend dinner with larger groups of people. The problem that we often face at a sit down restaurant is that we wait forever for a table and then have to wait on service. It takes away from our valuable time to socialize! Well, I think we have found our compromise with Palio’s Café. It is conveniently located and has a decent amount of seating. Customers place their order at the counter, get their own drinks, and find a seat to wait for someone to bring the order. We were able to spread out across several tables, decide what we wanted by looking at the printed menus, and then place our orders. The food came our surprisingly quick for a pizza place, so that was an added bonus. As for the food, it was good. I could tell by the wonderful aromas that it would be flavorful. I wasn’t a huge fan of the crust, but thin crust isn’t usually my jam. It tend to prefer fluffy, yeasty dough but Palio’s has thin crust. I think they par bake it and then finish baking with toppings per order. So to me the crust was just so-so but the toppings really shined. We sample three pizzas: the Mean Green(pesto, spinach, onions, bacon, mozzarella, feta, chicken subbed for the Canadian bacon), the King(a typical supreme pizza), and a basic cheese and pepperoni. All of the toppings were delicious, especially the sauces. The pesto was exceptional actually. They are very generous on toppings which can sometimes weigh down the thin crust. The simple cheese and pepperoni had a crisper crust than the other two loaded pizzas. I thought the prices were reasonable. I think we paid $ 15.99 for a large specialty pizza(half Kind, half Mean Green) and were able to add the large pepperoni for $ 8.99(you can add any pizza, including specialty, for that price). They offer several«buy a second pizza for only…» deals. So our two large pizzas, which fed 3 adults with leftovers, was $ 27. We were able to get free drinks with their Unilocal check-in offer! One tip is to go during lunch when they offer pizza, salad, and drink for $ 8.99. Not a bad deal! I look forward to returning the next time I am in Denton.

I’m generally not a thin crust person, but this crust was cooked perfectly. The pizzas came to our table quickly and the staff was very nice. My mil got a Hawaiian with chicken instead of bacon, which was good. Our pepperoni & sausage was outstanding. Wish there was a Palio’s near our home.

Ok the place is very clean and the staff is very nice. We’ve had 2 pizzas here and they are nothing special. Good crust, but it could be more crispy. The sausage and pepperoni are a little too greasy and the sausage is pretty bland. The pink sauce is a sauce looking for identity. Chicken pizzas are bland. Overall it’s good, but not nearly as great as the reviews. Fair prices. A good choice for a quick meal but not for a pizza extravaganza.
