I was very upset that I was forced to put a tip on my bill when there is no table service! The prices are already too high at this sub shop compared to others in the area, without being forced to leave a tip also. Sixteen dollars for two mini subs and one regular drink is highway robbery!

Food was dynamite, as always… however today I have never experienced such HORRIBLE customer service. This is NOT a review to tell you not to patronize this place, cuz the food and service have always been top notch. However ~ it’s directed at the owner so that he knows the three kids making the sandwhiches this afternoon around 2pm were just plain awful… and rude. I’ve been eating here since they opened and today is the first time I’ve ever had a bad experience… so bad, that it brought me to write this. Sorry«Mike» ~

Best sandwich place ive ever been too. the food always has a great flavor. The meat is juicy and the cheese is always a nice finish, so why a 3 star review??? 2 words CUSTOMERSERVICE no one has a positive attitude or any sense of urgency! Long story short you come for the delicious food not the customer service you wont feel welcome :(

Better than subway or Quiznos. Better bread, fresher ingredients. Just need to get olives!

Staff of burnt Encinitas kids. Which I have no problem with… Except the one kid that freaking DROOLS out of the corners of his mouth while looking down at your sandwich. I pray every time as I watch intently that not a drop falls onto my sandwich. It’s f***ing disgusting. I love jersey mikes I go all the time but this one drool meister HASTOGO.

My daughter and I go to the Jersey Mike’s location in Encinitas. She likes the kids meal and I love the classic Italian with everything! The staff here is great and doesn’t cut corners, you get a great tasting large portion every time and all the ingredients are very fresh. If you crave a classic east coast sub and you are in Encinitas, go there. You will not be disappointed.

manager told me to give them another try. and I get a super soggy sandwich that’s was to disgusting to eat. the lettuce the use was swimming in water and transferred all the water it was in to my sandwich. I will be driving back with my uneaten POS they try to pass off as food and take this up with the district manager maybe they will care if they are serving crap to their customers. this is the only Jersey mikes that can’t seem to grasp the concept of how to make an editable sandwich. been to several other mikes and they are all fantastic to bad i live by the reject one.

Ok, here’s the latest… I got four or five sandwiches that were good but tonight I watched them slice and it was back to the PAPER thin cuts… for some reason I still tipped them but instantly regretted it when I opened the wrapper at home. …

Jersey mikes is awesome and this location is no different. The location is a bit hard to find if you don’t know the area, but it is near Aaron brothers and McDonald’s in east Encinitas. The food here is awesome, like usual, go for either the Cali club, the regular club or the Philly cheesesteak and you can think me later. The staff here is always friendly and the establishment is always extremely clean. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a good sub in Encinitas. Pros– Taste Cleanliness Menu Service Outdoor seating Cons– Crowded Hidden in corner of parking lot

It was for a good cause. I took a few months off of Unilocaling and had quite a backlog when I decided to come back. Because of that, I’ve strayed away from writing about places where I’d just eaten. But a mix of good deed(all proceeds today went to Rady’s Children’s Hospital) with utter disappointment(despite many friends raving about this joint) made me really want to get all this down before too long. It’s sad to think that the standard everyone thinks of when talking about sub sandwiches is Subway; I reflected on that when writing about Subman the other day. And, when you get down to it, Subway is kinda shitty. Pre-sliced everything, dry and bland bread, and cheese where the ‘processed’ comes through in all six senses(yeah, you heard me); it’s edible, but only just. Well, Jersey Mike’s is better … but only just. First and foremost, this place is really pricey. And for that price, you don’t seem to get much. Sure, the«giant sandwich» is a bit over 14″ in size … but you’re gonna pay around $ 1.00/inch for that meal. Add in the fact their bread is as dry and bland as Subway(and without the option of some crap baked into it), and it’s tough to get excited about taking a bite. I think their only claim to fame seems to the amount of meat they stuff into their bread(which, again to make the comparison, is maybe about half as much more than what you would get at Subway). But, take a peek at their fridge behind the counter, and you can see what quality of meat they are slicing. Seriously, it’s the«Jersey Mike’s» brand of processed meat. It looks exactly like something you would get at Walmart or off a pallet from a third world military supply drop in the desert. Careful, Famous Dave’s, you might have competition. I had The Original Italian, which tasted much more sour than salty and, either, creamy(from mayonnaise) or sweet(from lettuce and dressing), which is really the way it should be. There’s no shame in vinegar on the sandwich, but there really should be that counterbalance to it that you rarely seem to find outside of an actual deli. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a franchise sandwich shop that had it, to be honest; and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that had more than one basic style of vinegar … a Balsamic would really be nice … hmm… Anyway, my girlfriend had their Big Kahuna Cheesesteak. Despite what I noted earlier, there didn’t seem to be the same level of meat in this sammich as others. Upon inspection, it apparently was because the bread was cut only halfway through, with the ends being closed as well, allowing for a shallow pouch that couldn’t be ‘stuffed’ as much as the cold sandwiches. Add in the fact that there was an obvious dearth of mushrooms and peppers when compared to the bland steak and cheese(it should be a lot of everything!), and it dropped below the level of «eh, nothing-all-that-special.» Our son had the Ham and Cheese which he had one bite of and spit out. Having a bite of my own and it was easy to see why. The dryness of the bread hit a whole new level with this one, with only mayonnaise to bring any moisture and the ham having just the barest hint of flavor, we brought it home and promptly tossed it after it taunted us from the counter for an hour and a half. All of that and a bag of chips … for about $ 25 … and a collective sigh from all of us. Still, despite the suckiness, it was for a good cause; kind of like donating blood, I guess … hey, we even got a free cookie! So, in the end, two stars. Jersey Mike’s is only slightly less shitty than Subway.

You know how they pride themselves on their fresh ingredients at Jersey Mikes??? They use canned peppers and onions on the«famous philly.» That’s why it tastes sour like pickles… Even the«fresh sliced» onions are sliced the day before… I’m glad the staff was so candid about their ingredients because they were able to use some actual fresh sliced bell peppers and day old onions on my famous philly and it tasted MUCH better. Now I know… And so do you…

A little disappointed They are definitely more expensive than Subway but, they seem to give you more meat. I had a coupon for buy one get one free– went with a co-worker.(Yes this ISMY fault for not reading the coupon…) It was only good in Vista and San Marcos. They would NOT honor the coupon. I paid for an overpriced lunch… and have NOT been back to this location. I don’t want Vista and San Marcos paying for Marketing to bring me into the wrong location!

When I walked in, I was a little Hesitant because of the size of the line. However the workers were churning and burning and the actual wait time was minimum. Even though they were really busy the staff was still very friendly and seemed to actually enjoy their job. I got the number 8 miles way and, as always, was absurdly delicious. The only thing else to add is that the restaurant was very clean and tidy.

Very disappointed. I was in line, with my sandwich waiting for the food of people behind me to be finished before I could pay. I finished all the chips and part of the sandwich in line before I was allowed to pay. Very disappointed. Great food though!

Awesome people here make for awesome service. The staff is so nice and after awhile they’ve gotten to know who I am. I totally recommend getting the original 13 or 8⁄9. Those are the best. Sometimes the lettuce can get a bit overwhelming but let them know and they will take care of it. Thanks everyone at this location!

A very solid 4 stars. Their sandwiches really are very good and oh so fresh. I love the fact that everything is fresh – the meat is sliced in front of you while you are in line. Sometimes the lines look daunting – especially in a smalish shop – but they move quickly. I have tried several of their sammies but keep returning to the«Italian» one. You probably pay a buck more than you would at – gag – Subway – but the quality of the food, and of the service, is well worth it. They have Tastykakes, too! What more could you want?
