Douglas Burgers No 23

Was at Douglas Burger today. I got what is usually my favorite. Their hard shell tacos. They are normally delicious! I recommend them all the time. Well tonight I got dinner for my mom and I because I had been raving to her about them. Well she is going to tell me I’m crazy because the ground beef was burn your tongue salty! So salty they killed the actual flavor of the meat. Normally I would give them 5 stars but my dinner was kind of ruined. At $ 3.45 per taco, it’s not a good idea to mess with what is not broken. Who ever cooked the meat tonight, please don’t alter the original way.

First time here, avocado burger… It was a decent drive thru burger. It was a huge burger, but would not recommend eating in the car without a Bibb and a stack of napkins.

It was cold, The patty was falling apart, the bun was already soggy and coming apart… But wouldn’t keep me from going back.

We’ve been coming here for 20 years and they have the best breakfast burritos, French toast and hamburgers :) they are great and reasonably priced!

This place is not quite «gas station» Mexican food but close enough since you first probably stop for gas at the adjacent station. They seem to be all about large portions and mass quantities at the expense of quality and taste. Not a bad value though if you’re not too picky. I did find both the carne asada and carnitas to be dry unfortunately.

I have been here a handful of times and always ordered the same thing– Philly Cheesesteak Combo. OH MY GOODNESS. It’s so good and it’s packed with meat, cheese, and peppers. I really like the sandwiches at Philly’s Best but I like Douglas’ philly cheese even more! The fries have always been crispy and good too.
That combo runs about $ 10 and I’m filled up and a happy camper. Two lighter eaters could even share this combo and both get filled up. I am hesitant to order sandwiches from places like this (diners selling burgers/​sandwiches/​Mexican/​dinner plates etc.) because they are usually very mediocre and flavorless. Not the case here at all.
Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

The worst customer service!!! We were told to hold on and waited for 10 minutes as the people behind us grew impatient. We finally moved forward and was told there was a problem with the speaker (umm it just worked 10 minutes ago) and asked for a manager and was told he was on the phone, so again waited for another 10 minutes to be told he is still on the phone (so guessing we are not important) and waited for another 5 min and was told to move because the person behind us order was ready (guess the speaker was working again). We ended up giving up and went to Wendy’s, but such a shame when we had good memories, but now we deal with such bad service!!!

Decent food. A bit overpriced for a fast food joint, but food is better than McDonald’s or Burger King. Fries are delicious and the fried zucchini is a HUGE order. Seems a bit left that they charge 65 cents for ranch to go with your onion rings or zucchini, but despite ordering food they charge you for dressing. That’s like buying a salad and being told dressing costs extra. The staff is friendly, but sometimes their English is limited and they get your order wrong. Nothing that a little patience can’t fix! Overall decent food, not amazing but not crap Donald’s status either! I would eat here again.

I go here quite often after my Costco run and mostly use the drive-​thru. Here’s why I go to Douglas Burgers. Like I said I use the drive-​thru and I hate, absolutely hate cold French fries. Douglas Burgers ALWAYS serves hot French fries and the combo meal with a cheeseburger is 2-​meals for me. Usually I’ll eat the fries on my way home and save the burger for later because the fries are a meal unto itself. The reason I’m not giving 5-​stars is their Pastrami, which ain’t cheap. The pastrami basically sucks the meat is generous but old and dry with matching stale French rolls. I do not recommend the pastrami. Steam doesn’t make pastrami or rolls fresh again. Most other things there are okay so 4-​stars.

Was extremely disappointed today with my purchase. Went to pick up lunch for my family and I. Came home and the chicken in the salad was extremely burnt. (I will add photo) i called and nicely asked for credit. I was told by the person on the phone who says shes not allowed to give her name to anyone that i can’t get credit unless i bring the food back. Why would i waste my time and gas for the inconvenience they put me through? It was black charred chicken. Not edible. I asked for a manager or supervisor which none were available. She said they only have a «boss» and i could call him tomorrow. She was rude and disrespectful when I asked questions she would answer sarcastically. Don’t know how she even got hired with those bad manners and poor customer service. Bad food and terrible service! Will take my business elsewhere!

We stopped here on our way out of town and ordered a couple of burgers. They were pretty good but nothing special really. The fries were cooked perfectly and came out piping hot. The service was pretty fast and friendly. After reading other reviews, I’d love to come back and try a breakfast burrito.

Men’s restroom was a wreck. The only toilet and the only urinal were both out of order. Covered in graffiti.
Food was good for a local hamburger shop and café. The fry oil may have been off. The fries had a strange taste to them.

Everything I’ve gotten here has been good. Philly cheese steak is awesome, bacon western burger is good but they need to not add lettuce and tomatoes to it. Awesome chicken salad (huge) best ranch dressing at any restaurant ever. Too bad the horchata sucks and the people at the drive thru are usually rude

Food tasted great (cheesesteak sandwich with fries and fried zucchini). My girlfriend and I shared our meal last night but the downfall; we both woke up today with stomach aches! Mine still hurts!
I doubt I’ll come back here.

I’m really not the type to post things like this but I’ve had it with this place every time I eat here there’s always a problem! Tonight will be the last time I ever eat here ever again!!! I ordered Carne Asada nachos and I found hair in my food! Also my boyfriend ordered beef dip sand which and there was mold on the breed! We spent 23 dollars I’m so beyond pissed this is disgusting! Like I said I will never come here again.

Are you kidding me? You have a lent menu with everything under the sun without meat, but you DONT HAVE fresh fruit or cottage cheese as a side option at breakfast? Only home fries and hash browns to make you fatter? Won’t ever show my face in here again.

This place is usually very busy but I always get good service here. Whatever I order its always fresh and hot; plus they also serve turkey burgers!

After Much indecisiveness and driving aimlessly for 15 minutes and hunting on Unilocal for another 10 I couldn’t make up my mind on where to eat. Most of the places that I liked and that I was recommended to today closed at 8.
What got me interested in this place were the photos people posted on Unilocal.Some delicious looking foods were posted had me wondering will this place make the cut?
I find myself in this area often so I had to see if I can add it to my places that I would recommend.
I have to say the place is not much of a looker and the cheeseburger combo that I purchased with onion rings almost reached 10 dollars! The portion covers that price well as I was unable to finish my meal in a sitting. Very filling, maybe from the oil; this is what I expected and that is what I got!
Their most popular items are their breakfast burritos and their pastrami sandwich, something I found out after placing my order. There might be a next time when I’m feeling like some traditional American style fast food in this area!

I came here because Unilocal gave it a 4 ½ star review so I wanted to see why it was rated so high! Well I am giving them a one star because I ordered a pastrami burger and there are no pickles on it! Everyone know pickles go on a pastrami anything! The beef dip had no dip and when I order chili cheese fries I in fact expect the proper ration of supposedly crispy French fries to chili and melted cheese. But instead I get a few soggy french fries with a little bit of chili and a whole Lotta cheese way too much cheese! As we are in drive thru you expect to get napkins and silverware. Well in Douglas burgers they don’t feel like that’s necessary. If they did we would have received our napkins and silverware.

I’ve been coming here for the last ten years and it’s be a solid place to eat. Clean restaurant and great service. Food is always fresh and quick.

Yet another fast food stop, one we discovered has a hearty breakfast burrito to tide us over on our journeys south on Hwy 15 to San Diego.
We have never tried anything else on their menu. But then, why should we?
Those burritos speak volumes. Let’s just say, I always have leftovers. Filled with hash browned potatoes, cheddar cheese, nicely scrambled eggs, and finally, your choice of meat.

If you are a bit wimpy, I might recommend leaving the salsa on the side. You bite it, it bites back.
And even though we have never tried anything else on their menu (didn’t I just say that ?), can’t think of a good enough reason why we should.
Those burritos sure do taste good. Nothing extraordinary, just simple food we know we can rely on.
And in case you didn’t realize, we have never tried anything else on their menu. But why should we? It ain’t broke. Perfection in a tortilla.
