A wonderful dinner for three tonight at Tim-Bir Alley. We each ordered a different appetizer and entrée so we could sample each other’s plates. For starters we had shrimp and rice noodle pancakes, spinach and feta pâté and prosciutto tart. I had the spinach, feta and tomato pâté and it was to die for. Different and interesting flavors with every layer. I had Moroccan chicken which was lusciously seasoned and cooked and the sides were great entrees in their own right: potato au gratin(amazing), puréed broccoli, yellow beats, green beans, eggplant. All delicious. My husband had the lamb and my son had the beef… Very happy. We shall return.

This was a fantastic end to a fantastic day. We did not expect to find such a great little restaurant after a long day of hiking. We looked it up on Unilocal, and just went for it. Pleasantly surprised! We also forgot to take our leftovers with us, HUGE mistake!

I travel a lot, and this is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food was seasonal and very fresh. It was prepared perfectly! I ordered the salmon and it was accompanied by a variety of sides to include a creamed kale which was amazing! This is a small restaurant that changes its menu frequently to accommodate seasonal ingredients. It is family run with very friendly staff. I read a few reviews that you need to plan on being there for a long time because service can be slow. I had somewhere that I had to be so I advised them that I had to be out in an hour and they made it happen! Keep in mind that they only take cash and you should make a reservation.

It’s not very often that you find such a magnificent place in such a small town. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. He is the chef(amazingly talented) and she runs the dining room. You will not be disappointed. All courses were fantastic!

First, remember to bring cash with you(ATM across street). Now, the atmosphere: AMAZING! We still refer to this as one of the best dinners we’ve ever had. From other reviews it sounds like it can be really busy but we were there after getting rained out of hiking on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t packed– I ended up calling for a reservation that morning just in case. While the atmosphere has a cozy, jazzy, kind of turn of the century feel– and we would have loved to dress up for it, instead we arrived in our only clothing options(i.e., 2 day old hiking clothes) but were treated with respect. Really appreciated that the owners did not make us feel like we didn’t belong. To the food– such delicious ingredients! We got a soup, salad, the salmon and a quiche. What we especially loved about the salmon was all the fresh, beautifully placed sides that came on the plate with the salmon– basically enough for a few bites of each to give a lot of variety without being too much. The scones that come before the salad/salad and truffle that comes with the check were also divine– again, shout out to the good ingredients and fresh recipes. I highly recommend this for a memorable evening in the White Mountains– nice to follow it by a show or film at Colonial Theater one town over(Tim-Bir may even give you a coupon for the theater).

Picked this place from other Unilocal reviews. What a great choice! This restaurant is small and intimate run by a husband /wife team. Make a reservation. Menu is handwritten and changes weekly. Excellent food made and served with love and care. Very attentive service. Reasonably priced for the quality of food and presentation. Would definitely return !!!(Bring cash as credit cards are not accepted).

OMG this place really was a hidden gem. I didn’t know where to go since there are so few places here in NH. I read the reviews about this place and boy what a delight. Everything was amazing and I would come back if I was in town again. I had a long 6+ hour drive here on business and I didn’t mind the additional 20 minutes from my hotel to get to this place. We had dumplings that were so delicious. Lots of flavor and the dishes are decorated quite nicely. We had salmon and chicken. Too stuffed to have dessert:(The vegetables were great, it’s refreshing when someone take time to cook vegetable and not think of it as an afterthought on your plate to complete a meal. Very good, highly recommend this place.

After a long day working up an appetite at Lake Willoughby and still in our our dirty climbing clothes, we were looking for a hearty meal on our way home. We glanced at these Unilocal reviews and figured this would be a casual pub type restaurant. When we sat down to white table clothes and handwritten menus, we felt very out of place and almost left but decided to stick with it. We are SO glad. My boyfriend and I agree that this is the best meal we’ve had out together at a restaurant! The bread was unbelievable, the complimentary salad was incredibly fresh, and our entrees were filling, beautifully plated, and delicious. Despite facing a long drive home in a snowstorm, we knew that we had to try dessert. We got the white chocolate cheesecake with toasted coconut and coconut maple sauce. It was unreal. The service was also impeccable and everything from the decorations to handsoap were lovingly curated to make this an amazing dining experience. This restaurant is quite a drive for us, but we’ll go out of our way to visit again soon!

I’m not sure why it took me so long to find this restaurant that for me was hiding in plane sight in my home town, but I am glad I did. I’ve eaten here several times in the past year and always had an absolutely wonderful meal. As I mentioned this restaurant is in my home town, and as I’ve traveled around the Northeast US and Québec, visiting visiting restaurants that consistently receive 4&5 stars on Unilocal,I’ve come to realize I have a world class restaurant right here in my small town. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife. He is in the kitchen and she works the dining room. Occasionally you will see someone helping her out, but for the most part she seems to work the room alone. On occasion I’ll go to small restaurants like this and the owners will come out and make small talk while their staff works the room. Don’t expect this here they both are working very hard maintaining a very high standard. The food is fantastic. The first thing that makes this so is the fact the menu changes so frequently it’s impossible to get into a rut ordering the same thing every time you visit. You are forced to take a chance on something new constantly. I just love that. Second there is absolutely no deep fried or preprepared anything from one of the huge restaurant supply companies. As far as I can tell everything is made from scratch using fresh ingredients. Lastly everything on the plate tastes different. I’ve had hundreds of restaurant meals that come out with a main course expertly prepared sitting next to steamed vegetables that seem to be an after thought. When you get a meal here you will receive at least 6 different vegetables prepared and flavored differently. It adds so much to the meal and for me has become the standard by which all other meals are measured.

this was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences i have had in a long, long time. ambiance is quiet, quaint and unpretentious. the service is attentive yet unintrusive. the fare is delicious, seasonal, and portioned perfectly. everything we were served was well executed and well timed. the pacing of service being spot on, we were able to relax, chat, dine and dish over the course of an hour or so, leaving satiated, smiling and looking forward to returning as soon as possible. if only i lived in this state!

Great little find in Littleton. Gourmet! Great variety on the menu. Fabulous tasting food. I had the lamb chops, my wife had the grilled mortician chicken, daughter had the beef tornados, daughters had salmon. All incredibly tasty and great presentation. Only downside is there are no children’s menus and they don’t accept credit cards. Definitely a new favorite on the weekends when we are skiing Bretton Woods.

Wonderful restaurant! Great food and incredible service. We called at 5PM on a Friday night and they had a table for us at 5:30PM. Dinner in this small gem of a place was just incredible. Everything was delicious, freshly prepared and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality. Can’t recommend it highly enough. UPDATE We returned a few months ago and it had changed. The food was nowhere as good. They have adopted the«new“style» of cooking which is to pile everything on top of the plate so that thee is no way to tell what you are eating. It was a gooey mostly tastless mess. I hope that they come to their senses and go back to great meals.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Make a reservation and plan to make it an event(we sat and ate for 2+ hours). Enjoy your meal and prepare to over-indulge. If you’re ever going to go all out, Tim-Bir is one of the better times to do it.

This is simply one of the best restaurants I have ever been privileged to visit. The food was expertly prepared and all fresh, seasonal, and local. The ambiance was unassuming and soothing. And best of all was just the FOOD. I had fiddlehead fern tart, corn and green chile soup, and the swordfish. Everything was so memorable. The swordfish was the best I ever had, bar none. And it was surrounded by beautiful vegetables, all prepared in different and delicious ways. The potato au gratin side was outstanding. For dessert we had the blueberry and ricotta strudel and rhubarb tart. The rhubarb tart was pretty good, but the blueberry and ricotta strudel was fantastic. I would give this more than five stars if I could.

Definitely a gem of a restaurant! We came here for dinner instead a would-be fancy dinner in our B&B and we were so glad we came here instead. Everything was great — the quite and cozy atmosphere, unpretentious music in the background, friendly greeting from the owner when we came in, and, obviously, the food. In fact, the food was so good that the staff didn’t needed to wash our dishes — we licked the plates clean. The food was delicious and elegantly done, a pleasure for the stomach and the eye. The price was just right for what you get(be aware, it’s cash only so come prepared) This was the first restaurant ever to do something drastic — put the cheesecake on it’s side. If you’ve never tasted a cheesecake on it’s side you’ve never tasted a cheesecake!
