We dine in at Twisted Tomato on a weekly basis and are always happy with the overall experience. Friendly people and good food. My husband and I look forward to going back every week.

Wow. Very nice people serving great food. We were nearby for a soccer tournament @River City Sports and stopped here between games. We are glad we did. Great(HUGE) subs and everyone loved the pizza. Highly recommend the TT!

Order from here almost weekly. Delivery is quick and courteous. Arrives piping hot with the toppings where they are supposed to be. Family members rave about the gluten-free crust when they visit. Have even had requests to bring it with us when we visit Charlottesville and the owners offered for us to take a delivery bag-that’s a proud, family run pizza joint!

I ordered from Twisted Tomato before they moved to their new location, so I can’t speak for dining in. The twisted Athenian pizza is really, really yummy! Most of the restaurants in this neighborhood are average or subpar, but the pizza here is at least definitely better than the chains stores, and not much more expensive to support a local business. The Italian grinder I ordered before was also good, albeit a little salty because of all the meats. Still good eats, though.

Meh! Nothing special about this place. Greek salad = olives on lettuce, sandwiches pretty bland.

My wife and I just moved to Brandermill and needed a pizza fix while unpacking. A friend recommended Twisted Tomato so we ordered a large pepperoni and black olive pizza as well as the pepperoni crusties. We were quoted a one hour delivery time and were pleasantly surprised when the food arrived in half that time. The food was hot and delicious while the service was friendly and prompt. The crusties lived up to the hype and the pizza had just the right amount of grease. The prices are quite reasonable. Twisted Tomato will definitely be our go-to pizza place!

We had really good pizza and(for an extra $ 2) they doubled the size of my already large chicken parm sub. The marinara sauce and spices used on both were delicious… I asked the waiter to box up my leftovers to save myself from a self induced food coma. Friendly and attentive staff as well.

Best Pizza in the Richmond-Midlothian area… They actually use seasoning and there is flavor to the pizza not just a canned tomato sauce and cheese. Excellent crust and bread too :) :)… Very friendly service, seems to be family run and they truly appreciate your business and say«hello…»… I have not been to their new location but when I was there they said would have more of a restaurant atmosphere where you could sit down and expanded menu. I am from the NY/NJ metropolitan area and miss the pizza so much — this is the next best thing until I go back and visit.

Best gluten free pizza in town! My wife loves it and it’s even good reheated(which seems to be rare for GF pizza). I get the meatball grinder. I really like the fresh sauce and speedy service.

I’m an out of towner, but this place was highly recommended by someone who lives in town. It was a boast, and boy, did the food live up to the boast. Pizzas are awesome. Just the right amount of cheese and whatever toppings you order it with. The pizzas can come either thin crust or regular. If you’re not adverse to carbs(if you’re eating pizza, you shouldn’t be) I suggest getting it the regular way. The smalls are just good enough for one person, or you can share if you’re not hungry. The large are the best bang for your buck; it should feed a family of four easily. I also love the calzones in this place. OMG, each one is about half the size of a dinner plate. We’re talking both hands, and that might not be enough to hold it. Be careful, they’re effing hot, as I learned with the red fingers to prove it. I got ham and pineapple(Hawaiian) as fillings. That was mighty good. I couldn’t eat it in one sitting. Didn’t get to try their grinders/sub sandwiches. Gives me a reason to come back. Awesome customer service. The young man who helped me and my friend was very helpful, friendly, and was a good sport to all my bad jokes. My friend is used to it, but the young man who helped us wasn’t. Still, he indulged me, and I like that. Gives me a reason to come back and be a patron of the place. PS. You might want to take the food to go. They don’t have much seating. When they do move to the proposed new place, which is across the way in the strip mall, the boast is that the new site would seat 50. That sounds good to me.

Pizza is great and the only place around that have CRUSTIES!!! If you went to Radford U, you know what I am talking about. If not, just try them. You won’t be disappointed.

The pizza is good. I only gave it 3 stars because they usually mess up our order and the young lady who’s usually there is a bit snotty. But … Still we go back because the pizza is yummy. The steak subs are ok

Man, I am so disappointed… I had such high hopes when reading about their cheese steaks. On the menu, it says, «SAUTEEDSTEAK, ONIONS, GREENPEPPERS, CHEESE, LETTUCE, TOMATOES&MAYO»… …The peppers and onions are not sauteed. They are raw. To me, this is wrong on a cheese steak. So wrong! The whole sub(«grinder» as they call them) had something lacking. I had to add salt, pepper, and sriracha to the sub. I didn’t really see or taste any cheese. So wrong. Are you listening Twisted Tomato? Sauté those peppers and onions! Cheese must be able to be tasted! Throw some salt and pepper on the sandwich! More mayo, please! If you want to make it even better, add some sweet peppers! I hate it when I pay money for food that I could cook better myself. The bread was good. My daughter got an Italian sub and said that it was good, although she said the bread was too crunchy for her mouth. She’s 8 and doesn’t understand how good bread works yet. Their homemade relish was good. Anyway, I will go back because I have another $ 20 Groupon. If they are better next time, I will update my review.

LivingSocial forced me to finally sample a place I had long ignored as I shopped at Food Lion. I had been searching for a good cheese-steak and I finally found one at Twisted Tomato. The bread was nice and there was flavor in the beef. This isn’t as good as Jim’s Steakout but we aren’t anywhere near Buffalo, NY. The«crusties» were great. They weren’t burnt on the bottom as others complained and I thought the marina sauce tasted just fine. They were greasy for certain — you don’t want grease and a sharp pepperoni flavor then don’t get these. We also tried the tuna salad sandwich and were pleased. The large chunks of tuna were nice and the flavor was spot on — not too much mayonnaise and not too little. We didn’t try and pizza this time around but I think we are due for another sampling of the goods. Don’t eat here expecting an exotic menu — it is a simple menu that you would expect from a small pizza/subs shop and you get a very good take on that menu.

We had delivery to Midlothian and I have to say the wait time was not bad at all. The pizza was definitely pretty good but be careful when ordering as a «Large» is really more of a Medium. We ordered 3 pizzas — Meat Lover’s, Hawaiian, and Cheese. The pizza was pretty good — was delivered hot and was not too greasy, the kids especially devoured the cheese. One word of caution though — the wings are HOT. I am able to take spicy food, and these wings left my mouth tingling for 20 minutes after. Good wings but BEWARE. Considering the dearth of options in the area, I definitely would recommend this place for delivery.

Pizza was pretty good, but the pepperoni bread(they call them«crusties») were almost inedible. They came in a foil pan, and the bottom was covered in grease. Even though this place lists dining in as an option, thats pretty much a joke. 3 small tables in a carry out joint isn’t dining in.
