I lived in Narragansett temporarily for nine months, but it was only after I moved that I finally came back to try this place out. I feel like I missed out all that time! The food and service was terrific! I also thought that the pricing was very reasonable for the portions and quality. I definitely plan on coming back to visit on my next visit to Narragansett.

Shrimp & lobster spring rolls were fresh and tasty. Little necks were briny and sweet. Being from the Bronx, New York I compare everything Italian to home and the linguini with clams in evoo was o.k. as was the Meatball trio appetizer. The linguini(homemade?) was cooked al dente but a weird texture. it was served in what can best be described as a broth. I prefer a drier pasta with a garlic and olive oil driven sauce rather than a broth. The fish and chips was very tasty! Our server Jenna was excellent. She was very friendly and paced the meal appropriately.

Food was delicious, very friendly service. Loved the calamari appetizer. Highly recommend the the flounder entrée with lobster risotto, my spouse ordered it and I can’t believe how delicious the risotto was. I had the special – it was grilled shrimp and scallops and vegetables, and it was packed with flavor. Overall one of the best dinners I’ve had all year. I had a giftcard to Newport Restaurant group and was having a hard time deciding between them all. I was totally impressed with Trio.

My grey goose martini was AMAZING. If you like tasting salt instead of your food, this is the place. High price for a cool spot. The martini was redemption from an otherwise disappointing culinary experience.

We have been a few times and every time was very good, never had a bad meal here. This place has a great comfortable atmosphere, and one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever been in. The food is very fresh, good portions, prompt service and you get what you pay for. Great appetizer and drink specials in the bar area. You can’t go wrong by dining here, we will be back.

My husband and I just got married last week on March 16th and Rhode Island was our first stop on our 2-part honeymoom. Before leaving our home state, I searched for great restaurants in Rhode Island that would be nice for my husband’s birthday, because yes… just 5 days after our wedding day, we were celebrating his birthday! So my research I came across Trio(on Unilocal) and instantly loved the menu and thought if the restaurant ambiance felt like what I was getting from the photos posted, it was sure to be an enjoyable dining experience for his special day. So we originally had reservations for 7:30p.m, but given the things we had to do throughout the day, I needed to change the reservation to 8:30p.m. So we drove 20 minutes from our timeshare and arrived at Trio, which I didn’t realize was at the shore of Narragansett(another lovely surprise). Upon our arrival, I was instantly pleased this choice for my husband’s birthday dinner. The pleasant hostess greeted us and brought us to our seat in the dining area. Claudia was our waitress — she answered all of our questions, helped us make decisions for our meal and was overall a joy to have as a waitress. My husband and I both from the pier menu, which we were shocked by how great of a value this was. I ordered the Cavatelli and he ordered the rigatoni, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed! Then came time for dessert — I ordered the Bailey Irish Cream gelato and he ordered the sangria gelato. Both of these selections were quite yummy and(while neither having any alcoholic ingredients) tasted quite close to the flavors they were being made to taste like. At the end of our meal, Claudia brought the check & my husband went to pick up our coats, which the lovely hostess checked for us. Justin, who I believe is the dining area manager, brought my coat over and helped me put it on — LOVELYSERVICE! Our entire experience at Trio was, by far, one of best I’ve had at any restaurant!!! Thank you ALL!!! THECODYS

Very similar to the other Newport Restaurant Group’s restaurants(the mooring, smokehouse, etc.). Somewhat feels like a chain. It’s nice. Not too formal or casual(somewhere in between). The menu has a good variety, but isn’t overwhelming. I went for the first time New Year’s Eve and we got a table right away. I had the kale salad and it was good.

My lovers and I went to Trio on a Tuesday because of the enticing half-priced entrees. We ordered the fillet mignon, and unfortunately it was nothing special. First off, our steaks were not hot, but rather luke-warm. For a steak that is supposed to be $ 38, it should not have been luke-warm. In regards to how the steak tasted, it was not bad, but not special either. I would have preferred a special steak. Also the service was decent but nothing spectacular. Until next time~

My boyfriend and i are in town for the weekend from New Jersey and after a day of driving we wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner. We were greeted by the hostess who asked if we had a reservation. We said no and she said that it wasn’t a problem and sat us right away at a high-top. We were right by the bar but it was a nice atmosphere. Mostly middle aged people, no one too loud or rowdy. I got a lobster roll and oysters. When I saw the price of the lobster roll I was skeptical and thought it was a little high. I was totally wrong. It came out with all claw meet and was the most delicious lobster roll I’ve ever had. The majority of the sandwich was lobster. They didn’t try and drown it in bread and mayo. My boyfriend got the gnocchi appetizer. We thought it would be a bit bigger but since it was an appetizer it makes sense. The waiter was a little inattentive. He was very good but I think he had too many tables due to the fact that they didn’t have many waiters there. Overall we were very happy with out choice. The hostess told us goodnight and thank you which I think is one of the most significant things at a resturant(I’m bias because I’m a hostess though).

I stopped in for the first time last Sunday, and I was very impressed. I had the gnocchi, which is homemade, filled with ricotta, pan fried, and topped with a tomato confit. It was so delicious.(May I suggest that you also serve this app with a Parmigiano truffle sauce, which would also complement the homemade gnocchi.) The flat bread pizza was also delicious, and next time, I am going to try the fig and prosciutto one. The ambiance of this restaurant is quite nice. I like watching the kitchen action from the bar. It’s very cool. My sister-in-law and I also felt very welcomed at Trio. Oh, I’ll be back soon… next weekend, in fact. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Came here tonight. Food was good(fig pizza was great!) my only grip was we Made reservations for a party of four on Wednesday(today is Saturday) for 6:15. Guess where we were seated? In a high top with a tv screen above us. We were with another couple and low and behold, a family were seated next to us, with a whole bunch of children literally 2 feet away from us. Spent over $ 200 on food. Note to owners this is a not a cool move. We made sure we reserved a table three days in advance, a high top with a tv screen above us is not right.

We went to Trio on a whim one weeknight and was welcome, without reservations, and seated immediately. Pam was our waiter and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and the selection of wines and beers. We stared with the Artisan Cheese Plate with a variety of cheeses, candied nuts, fig compote, honey and homemade crostini. It was fresh and plenty for two before a dinner. I had the Rigatoni Bolognese and it was a bowl filled with fresh pasta and plenty of bolognese sauce. My husband had the Gemelli and had an equally filled bowl of pasta and plenty of chicken, sausage and other vegetables mixed in it. the homemade bread served before and during dinner is fresh and soft. We completed our dinner with the Vanilla Crème Brulee with pumpkin whoopie pie cookie. A definite fall delight to be shared, especially when we brought half of our meals home. :-)

We went to Trio yesterday with 3 other couples, but for my wife and I it was our first time at this establishment. We had a friendly and efficient wait person who took great care of our table from beginning to end. I had the Steak Frites and my wife had a shrimp and scallop dish over jasmine rice. We both really enjoyed our dinners, even though we thought the portion sizes were small when we first gazed at them, but we were completely satisfied with the flavors and our portion size when we finished our dinners. We will definitely be back to Trio in the near future.

We sat at the bar on a busy Saturday night. Both of the bartenders were a wealth of information and had great suggestions based on the right questions they asked. We both had the Soup du Jour and the spring pasta appetizer. Combined, they were the perfect meal. The linguine is made in house and tastes it. The soup — a roasted red pepper corn bisque was unbelievable. Highly recommended

Simply Amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious. Veal meatballs for an app is a must. I had claims cooked with broccoli Rob and white Canelli beans which was cooked perfectly. My son had the fillet mignon and was in heaven. The small criticism I do have is the food came out a little too quickly.

Several of us went for lunch and most of the dishes were good, but some were just not good at all. Fish and Chips — Crispy, good, flaky, moist. Great fries Steak Frites — Fries were thick, not crunchy. Meat was chewy and tough Stuffed sole — Good, delicate flavor… very small portion Burger — very well done, very good marinate, a winner Rigatoni Bolognese — Good, tasty, not as good as others, but not bad. Service was good and attentive, not great but good.

This is our second time back to Trio. Last time was maybe 6 months ago. We made our reservations through OpenTable and that went off without a hitch. The décor is laid back and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Noise level was subdued, even pleasant. For starters we shared an order of calamari and an order of their meatballs. The calamari was cooked well and not in the least bit chewy. The meatballs were delicious and the sauce was outstanding… so good, in fact, that we asked the waitress to leave the plate so we could sop up the sauce with the bread. For main courses… my wife had the Steak Frites, daughter had the Salmon with quinoa, and I hade the linguine with clam sauce. Wife and daughter loved their meals. The Steak was ordered medium rare and was right on target. Flavor was wonderful. The truffle potatoes were unusual but very tasty. My daughter reports that her salmon was excellent(that’s what she ordered last time and she was eager to have it again). My pasta came al dente and the clams were excellent. My only complaint was that felt the dish was too small and the clam shells and garnish had to be cleared away before I could get to the pasta. We didn’t have dessert as we had a Gregg’s raspberry and coconut cake at home waiting for us. Our waitress was warm and friendly and very helpful. Service was quick but we did not feel rushed in the least. Definitely a keeper.

My family had planned to go here for a Birthday. Using Trio’s mobile site, I had looked up the hours of operation and planned to go. That day, we drove about 50 miles only to find out that the hours listed on the restaurants mobile site were in fact wrong, and it was not open. I reached out to Trio regarding this issue and never got a response, the website also remains incorrect. Call ahead if you go to confirm hours, otherwise you’ll probably have to go somewhere else because it’s closed.
