The staff was friendly, attentive, and seated me immediately. The buffet food is without a doubt the least I have ever enjoyed food in my lifetime. It’s rubbery and overly-sweet. In my experience, the seafood at these types of buffets is usually not very good quality, but Grand Buffet’s seafood fell even lower in rank. It was bad: meager and disgusting. The only item from the buffet that I finished was the chow mein. It was decent. After deciding the rest of the items weren’t worth eating, I went to try the hibachi bar. The ingredient here were also poor, and I waited, ready, at the cooktop for a couple minutes before I turned around to see the cook walking from the dining area toward the kitchen to cook my sorta-food-like-stuff. Oh, it looked like broccoli, mushrooms, and cabbage alright. Unfortunately, it appears as though things are not what they seem at the Grand Buffet.

You can eat it and you probably won’t die. I can guarantee that you will be unhappy spending almost roughly $ 15. The miso soup is some of the worst I have ever had, the noodles were kind of greasy and not very good. On the positive side, the water tastes good, the napkins were clean and the soy sauce tasted like soy sauce.

This food was so gross. Staff was really nice, but she asked how everything was and I kindly told her it was gross. My stomach hurt after my first few bites. Worst $ 50 ever spent. Don’t waste your money

I love the food but the service was horrible the ladies behind the counter could be heard from our table and she was cursing and talking about her kids. I don’t want to go to lunch with my wife and have to hear then dropping the f bomb. Won’t be back despite the food being good.

This is the best deal I’ve had in a while! Fresh, delicious seafood, healthy salad, dessert, Mongolian bbq, all for a great price, friendly service, right off the freeway for our trip from SF to ashland. It’s the best

The food wasnt bad but once I seen the fingernail I was over it, not sure if it was a cooks or a customer either way not ok. They offered half off A dinner but not the whole group. Not likely we will be returning.

Their Thanksgiving menu intrigued us too-lazy-to-cook types out there to try their holiday offerings. I’d say the food was mediocre overall — some dishes I’ll never touch again if I find myself here in the future but also some good stuff. The bad: 1. Sushi has clearly been out for awhile because the sashimi seemed very dry and lackluster 2. Food tends to be either too sweet(e.g. coconut shrimp) or too salty for me(the Thanksgiving turkey), however the flavor might be just right for the usual clientele The good: 1.Food that was just about right in terms of not being too sweet or savory — the Thanksgiving ham, baked salmon, and mashed potatoes and gravy 2. Feeding the Koi fish in their indoor pond near the entrance was the highlight of my evening. I absolutely love Koi fish, however I’ll temper this with some concern that the fish might not be fed enough. I believe this might be the usual practice with this kind of set-up — in order to keep them somewhat hungry so that they’ll respond to patrons feeding them. Or do these fish just eat at every opportunity? Service was good and, on the bright side, I was not tempted to eat too much this Thanksgiving.

Good food, horrible service. A waiter walked by my very obviously empty drink about 5 times and so I asked for another and he brought the wrong one after I had already told him what it was.

We are not from the area but stopping here has become regular tradition for us when we pass through. Fantastic price(16.95) for all you can eat buffet with crab legs and it’s all pretty good.

The family and I have been here before and it was not bad. Then we had family come from out of town the group was quite large and the service was pretty good, UNTIL– I paid the bill and went back to the table to put a cash tip down, the waiter asked if everything was ok and I replied«yes» and he asked why we did not leave a tip! WOW… I didn’t leave a tip and told him they lost any future business from my entire family.

I don’t know where to start. Between servers yelling across the restaurant at each other, the disorganization, the sub par food and the 10 minute wait for drinks this place was just aweful. That’s not even including it costing $ 50 for 2 adults and 2 kids. We could have gone to a decent restaurant for that. VERYDISAPPOINTED! !!!

One star is undeserving. I’d give zero. When eating out I have a TON of options, and when I finally choose some place, I like to feel appreciated. I most certainly did not. I took my mother here for a special birthday dinner. We tasted some of the BLAND, COLD, food and we were very unsatisfied. The owner was notified and demanded we pay for the food we didn’t eat. She was very rude. I will never be back.

So I like to come her usually BUT tonight the food was horrible! The green beans were over cooked the stuffed mushrooms were so dry I couldn’t even eat them. The crab was fishy and the California rolls had a real crab stick and that was dry all the way through. My server way very nice and attentive but everything else was a GIANTFAILVERYDISAPPOINTING

What’s with all the hate for this place? The Grand Buffet has been around for decades, with at least four different owners, and I agree that it used to be much better. But the last time I went a few weeks ago, the food and service were still very reasonable. There’s a HUGE selection of food. There are at least 5 islands of food which have a great diversity of offerings(ie ribs, pizza, Chinese, salads, sushi(don’t eat), mongolian BBQ, etc). For $ 13, all-you-can-eat, I feel the price is reasonable for the wide variety. Some dishes were quite tasty, the steamed veggies, seafood casserole, salt-and-pepper shrimp w/heads on, baked salmon, etc were good. Coming from Hawaii, where I eat sushi at least 3 times a week, I would not recommend the sushi here. I’ve eaten it multiple times, and all times the fish has been stale and old. The California rolls are fine, but stay away from the raw fish. You may not get sick, but it’s not fresh, trust me. But like I mentioned, there’s a lot of other non-sushi options which are good. The waiter refilled our waters regularly and took our plates quickly. The front desk staff did not treat us badly like others have mentioned. The table and napkins were clean. I just didn’t see or experience any of the problems that the other Unilocalers reported. Perhaps I went on a good day. I did not come here expecting authentic, high quality Chinese cuisine. You’re not going to find suckling pig and roast duck here with 5 star service. I came here expecting lots of food, most of it good tasting(some of it bad), and reasonable service. I am happy to report that is what I received. I almost didn’t eat here due to the bad reviews, but I’m glad I threw caution to the wind and decided to come. I will definitely be back.

Very disappointed. I was able to pick out about a half-dozen edible items on the menu(the fried shrimp and chicken on a stick was good), but it was not worth $ 13. The egg drop soup tasted like pure oil, the soft noodles were doughy and barely warm, and the sweet & sour spareribs tasted distinctly unfresh. The customer service was poor and unprofessional from the time we walked in the door. Sorry, I never write negative reviews but this place could be so much better!

When this place first opened it was so amazing… not so much these days. The variety is crap, the customer service is crummy and rude most times the prices aren’t worth it and the place needs to be bleached.

The food here is really good. Im always pretty impressed with it when i come in. However, almost every time i come in im dissatisfied with the service. Yes it is a buffet, but i expect to still receive good customer service when i walk through the door. And not have to stand there when one girl chases another around with a mop/push broom. We were not even acknowledged until ahe was done sweeping. She definitely saw us considering we were 4 feet away. But lacked the ability to even say«be right with you». On another note, there is garbage all over the floor in the dining room. Step it up front of the house.

This place is amazing! Are you kidding me? $ 8.95 plus tax(at least on Tuesdays) for all this unlimited food? 6 islands plus a sushi section and a custom stirfry section. Decent sushi too. This is the happiest I have been all week. I just ate 4 plates full and I’m going back for more. Get in my belly!!! The employees at the door seemed a little bit stressed out but that’s not my problem. All they have to do is show me where to sit and then it’s game on. I guess some people might not like this place if they don’t like eating unlimited delicious Chinese food and sushi. It beats the hell out of waiting in a 20 car line at the In-n-out drive thru.

Not good, not good at all. It was not completely uneatable but, it only deserves 1 star if it was $ 5 it would be 2 stars and for $ 1, 3 stars. The food all around was pretty bad the only thing even half way decent was the soup. The slap in the face was it took 35 minutes before they brought out more crab legs. Anybody that gives this more than 2 stars is seriously delusional and probably eats at Mcdonalds regularly. Eat at your own risk.
