I had lunch here today and could not be more disappointed in the food and service. One meal sat ready on the back counter for so long, my friend walked up and asked for her meal. My meal came ten minutes later and was lukewarm. Zero service from our server. I provided a photo of my plate when it arrived. It’s less than appetizing. My plate was nearly empty and you can’t even find the tiny patty under the oversized bun. The bacon was dripping grease onto the plate and the plate is smeared with greasy fingerprints from the kitchen staff. So, so gross…

basic solid food. In town visiting, saw great reviews, people in Reno must be easily impressed or have only a handful of choices

Worst tostada salad ever. Some wierd dressing made the lettuce soggy topped with beef chili. Says ground beef. 2 stars for fast service and(kind of) attentive waitress. But I think this place is better at making breakfast foods.

Do. Not order the crab cakes Benedict. It’s not fresh it’s a pre made frozen of pattie with 90%breading. Disgusting! It’s kinda my fault for not looking at the photos on Unilocal first. But once I did i tried to change my order and the waitress told me no sorry we already started cooking your order. WTF!!! I said i don’t want it. I normally would cause a scene but I wasn’t in the mood. If that’ wasn’t enough my husband ordered turkey sausage and they served him… A COSTCOFROZENTURKEYBURGER. I only wish I were joking. Look at the photo. Here is a suggestion for peg: if you don’t have crab and don’t have turkey sausage, just take them off the menu! Don’t offer them and serve this stuff to people. Stick to what you’re good at. I ate the hash browns, drank my oj and left a big fat zero for tip never again reno

Excellent breakfast, one of the best ever. Interesting menu with many exceptional choices. Friendly staff, easy location, free parking with validation. Love the portions and the presentation. I would recommend to anyone. Also note they recently opened in Carson in the Raleys center.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and who doesn’t love a breakfast out now and then? Peg’s is close to home, has fast and friendly service, and the food is good. The servings are generous– extremely generous, I can almost never finish my whole meal. The benedicts are good and there’s a nice variety of them. I love the spicy chorizo one. And they always honor my «extra crispy» hash browns request. I’m a big fan of the lox and bagel dish. The serving of lox is very generous and it comes with all the normal bagel-and-lox accoutrements plus a hard boiled egg. I’ve never come for lunch but the menu has some nice looking sandwiches. I’ll have to give it a try sometime!

Perfect spot for breakfast. No AmEx. I ordered the hash, of course, and it is good. Unlimited toast if you are looking to carb load! Staff courteous and working: no phone staring! Running food, busing tables and refilling coffee.

It’s been many years since I’ve been to Peg’s and haven’t been to any of the other locations besides Downtown. My parents were in town a while back and discovered the downtown and raved about it. That got me jonesing for some Peg’s, but I definitely wasn’t about to put up with the wait at that location. A couple of weeks ago, they were back in town so I suggested the South Meadows location. I called ahead just to check on the wait time which was about 15 minutes. I told them we’d be in an hour and they put us down on the list. We were seated quickly after arriving and our waitress got us coffees and waters within a couple minutes. Their menu is just like I remember, pretty much every breakfast I’ve ever wanted is on it(minus bloody mary’s, bummer). This trip I decided on the smoked salmon benedict. Think typical benedict but with smoked salmon instead of Canadian bacon plus the toppings you’d expect to see on a smoked salmon bagel(red onion, tomato, and capers with a fresh lemon to squeeze over). Loved, loved, loved every bite of this. And it was so filling, I barely ate half of the hash browns that it came with. Service was spotty, but they were pretty busy. It was hard to get our waitress’ attention for coffee refills, but eventually, she made her way around. The atmosphere is basic but bustling diner with booths and tables all packed in, but with pretty Nevada artwork up on the walls to make it a little more interesting in there. I like that this location is pretty close to me and that I can satisfy just about every breakfast craving, so I’ll definitely be back(on those rare occasions I can talk my boyfriend into going out to breakfast!)

Came here on Mothers Day. surprisingly, it was not as busy as I thought it should be. There was a wait but only for 10 minutes. Our service was awesome and very attentibe too. We were treated as if we were the only table. The food was delicious., all four of us had something different and we were all equally impressed Great place, good food and excellent service. The only suggestion I would have is to make dining tables a little roomier, the space between table and bench seat was super tight. .

This place never disappoints. Food is always consistent and good. Only problem is the horrendous wait and noise on the weekends. If you’re coming here for the first time, I’d recommend coming in on the weekday. A much more pleasant visit without the wait and noise.

Not impressed, sorry Peg. I’ve been here a couple of times and it never really stood out to me, I don’t know why all the fab reviews. Sad face: my scrambled eggs were fake and tasted just like you would get at a continental breakfast from a Holiday Inn Express or IHOP and the bacon was thin, fatty, and floppy. I only had an appetite for steel cut oatmeal with blueberries and a side. The blueberries were obviously from a can(or frozen), which was a let down as well. Otherwise, the service was fine and the server continuously kept my coffee topped off. BTW, how much was the coffee? Because the final bill was $ 28 which means coffee per person was about $ 4, kind of a rip off! Pretty pricey for mediocre. We probably won’t be back for a long while, there are much better places to get a solid breakfast in Reno.

Yummy, breakfast was good! Great location for the Renown Hospital! Grabbed breakfast while waiting for my brother to get done with surgery. Scott, our server was wonderful!

Peg’s on South Meadows is where my husband and I go for lunch when we have mid-week brunch together! We go before the lunch rush to avoid taking longer than an hour — we can get in and out within 45 minutes while eating at a leisurely pace. Atmosphere: I prefer this location over the Sparks location as far as noise is considered — it seems to have better acoustics or sound absorbing tiles in the ceiling. The booths are roomy here and there are a few tables with chairs; as well as, seating at the counter. Service: Spot on every time. I like that the servers and bussers work as team. Coffee cups rarely get low because whoever has the pot in their hand is offering to fill the cups of the patrons whether it’s their table or not. I do wish that the bussers were more careful when they pushed their cart through the aisle and didn’t throw the dishes in their bins — it’s extremely distracting. Food: My man is one who prefers consistency. He orders the Peglet Omelet with sausage — it comes with hash browns and toast for $ 10. He adores their sausage. I, on the other hand, am not consistent with what I order. The waffle is my absolute favorite. It is warm, crisp, and fragrant. I have never had one that is not 100% scrumptious! Most recently, I’ve ordered their Biscuits and Gravy. After ordering Biscuits and Gravy someplace else a while ago thinking I would receive sausage gravy and receiving ham, I was leery of the gravy. I asked our server if I could taste the gravy and she gladly brought me a sample that included paprika and a spoon! The gravy was true sausage gravy and delicious. I also ordered 2 eggs and bacon. I should have known better. Peg’s doesn’t do anything small, the two biscuits that came were humongous! While the biscuits were huge, they were over cooked on the bottom, so I ate the top of one. This is a great place for 2 or a group of friends. They’re only open until 2:00pm, so you need to go for breakfast or lunch!

I got to Peg’s before 8AM this morning order Brad’s Heuvos for $ 12.93 + $ 1 tip to go. I got home, did a couple things started eating it, it was a great breakfast, I am almost finished, and I thought woo, that’s weird, I usually can’t eat all of it, or I am stuffed to the gills by the time I finished. I then thought about all my times eating there, and the cooking pan they serve it in, and I realized, I didn’t get my hash-browns, which is about ½ of the meal. I had one box with the sausage patty, heuvos and all the sides like beans, cabbage, only. I called the store, it was still early around 8:30AM, so I know they are not slammed, I relay my concern, the lady who answered was apologetic, offered for me to come over and get some. However, I live 20 minutes away, so I asked if I get just a future credit. She said needed to call the owners and would let me know. It’s now 1:30PM and I have had no phone call. Right now I am very disappointed. Your employees should be able to make calls on the spot when something wasn’t done right, and say sure, next time, your breakfast is half off to make up for our screw-up or some kind of resolution. I am sure it doesn’t happen often, and they are charging premier prices, this should have been a simple fix. Just to relay another story, I always get quad espressos from Starbucks, one day I had a TERRIBLE experience, SLOW service with no communication, and terrible espresso(tasted like they used the same beans from the previous shots already, then pulled x 4 aka my shots. I had limited time left on my lunch hour so it was stressful as I was late back to work, and then I taste this nasty tasting translucent espresso, I called to complain, got the manager, and she took down my name and promised me a free make up drink, which I got soon after. If i get a call, I will update this review, and let you know how the problem resolution is handled at Peg’s, so far it’s NOTGOOD! It’s 4−9−16, now and never got any resolution!

Consistently great family owned and operated breakfast joint. Great customer service from fast moving, heavily invested staff. A few musts on the menu for sure. Out of this world omelets and scrambles. World class Monte Cristo. Fresh squeezed OJ.

Eggs… From my head down to my legs… I love the incredible, edible Peg’s! There are many excellent breakfast spots in town these days and while Peg’s was one of the first of its kind, I am happy to say that it still is one of the best! I’ve never met a dish I didn’t like here… The portions are generous and the price point is very affordable. Love their signature huevos ranchero– golden fried eggs served on a lightly fried corn tortilla topped with delicious ranchero(tomato-chili) sauce accompanied by seasoned pintos, slaw, pico, diced jalapeños and bomb-diggity hash browns! It’s definitely my new favorite. I don’t know how I haven’t had it before now… My husband had his go-to dish, the breakfast burrito, which was bursting with scrambled eggs, ham, onions, green chilies and melted cheddar, topped with the aforementioned yummy ranchero sauce. I’ve been to a few different Peg’s locations(Sparks, Downtown Reno and now S. Meadows), and the quality of the food and service has always been on point across the board. The staff seems to be happy working here, and you can taste that in the food. While there are now several Peg’s locations, this is not a chain restaurant! Peg’s has been locally owned and operated by the same family(«Pops» and«Peg» are retired, but their children(and some of their grandchildren) are at the helm these days). It’s great to see a local business like this expand and grow as Peg’s has. Regardless of which location you go to, there is usually a long wait, especially on the weekends. But the staff here is efficient and friendly, and they are able to turn tables very quickly, without rushing their guests. The wait is definitely worth it!

I’m indifferent to this place. It’s not bad nor great. Their menu is extensive, but not that creative. When I come here, I know what to expect. It’s not not going to be high-quality, organic, natural ingredients, but rather greasy, high-calorie, high-carb food items. I usually come here when I’m emotional eating, and needing for some honest-to-goodness comfort food. My favorite, and pretty much the only item I order here, is their Hawaiian breakfast(Portuguese sausage, spam, eggs, macaroni salad, and white rice). It’s absolutely not a healthy choice, but when I cheat on my meal, I go all out.

Best breakfast place in Reno. Hands down. Each pegs location has an incredible staff full of friendly, and outgoing people. They know how and who to hire! My personal favorite thing about Pegs is that they make their own orange juice. Nothing better than a fresh, pulpy cup of oj to start off the day for me! Another staple of theirs is their hash browns. I have never had such good hash browns in my life! The bacon is cooked to perfection, the over easy eggs were amazing and the hash browns sealed the deal. If you’re looking for a great way to start your day, head to pegs!

Came in to Reno early today. Wanted to try something new. I have heard good things about this place. They are in the process of building one in Carson. Place was clean and bright. Staff is friendly. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette, and my wife had a mushroom and cheese omelette. All good to this point. My food arrived and the hash browns were toasty brown but they were greasy and cold. Not good. My wife’s omelette was brown like they overcooked it. My wife doesn’t like brown eggs. I can still eat them but she won’t. So needless to say she barely ate any of her’s. Her hash browns were pretty bad too. So I hope we are just a one off example today. Because if they do this in Carson, they won’t make it. There are plenty of other choices in a small town for good food. I think I will try the downtown location next time. Maybe it is just the cook.
