We were greeted by a «hostess» who did not seem to have her land legs yet. But she did not fall down. If you love unripe eggplant, this would be the place for you. That was the worse eggplant parmigiana I have had in 40 years. Oh and also if you like way overcooked lobster(in the Lobster Roll), then eat here. Made the mistake of asking for bread… ten minutes later out comes bread… still frozen inside, that was a nice touch. the watery French onion soup is also not to me missed — seemed like a mix gone bad. The Greek salad was alright, not Greek but it did not make me sick. Also, they were able to make spaghetti — a special order — only butter with plain tomato sauce on the side. The server did not seem surprised that we did not eat these items… thankfully most things were taken off our bill. Sometimes its hard to understand why some people get into the restaurant business.

The two stars description of «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» is perfect for this place. The décor was spot on, the host/owner seemed very friendly… We were there as a group of five, and were seated immediately, which was nice… the food left a lot to be desired, though. The lamb chop appetizer we had was extremely bland, and a little soggy. As we went around the table and discussed how everyone’s food was… The general opinion was one of disappointment. The only thing that had any real flavor to it was the paella my boyfriend ordered. Even so, it was kind of just like«I’ve had better,» and when you’re shelling out the money for something like this, you want something delicious.

After reading the reviews in the NYT, we were eager to try this place… what a collossal dissappointment!!! The food is mediocre at best, subway has better sandwiches than this place. the service… well, I would not really call it a service. My husband and I went there for brunch, we each ordered a sandwich and wine. The food was dry and far from fresh. The plates were thrown on the table in front of us, we were never asked whether we need anything else, cared for dessert, or another glass of wine. When our friends came to visit us, they wanted to check the place out, I told them it wasn’t worth the time, but ended up agreeing to go. Let me put it this way, my party ended up leaving hungry after wasting 2.5 hours and geting lunch at the carry out place next door. First we were told the wait would be 45 minutes, after checking back after waiting for an hour, we were told to wait another 20 minutes, and once more we went back only to be told that we would have to wait another 45 minutes!!! In the mean time the hostess was acting annoyed every time we would check on the reservation., one would think she was solving the middle east conflict at the hostess stand and had no time for silly questions such ‘Any idea on how much longer?’ And instead of recieving at least an apology after voicing our frastrations we were told in no uncertain terms to go take a hike, or the direct quote was ‘if you dont want to wait, feel free to go elsewhere’ Now, I know that sometimes customers can be obnoxious, but I assure we were nothing of the sort. I myself have worked in the restaurant industry for a long time and have never come across such incompetence and rudeness.

Blue Sky is a newcomer to the Hamptons dining scene, located in the spot formerly occupied by Spinnakers in downtown Sag Harbor. After reading a glowing review in the NY Times, we decided to give it a try last Friday night. The restaurant is owned by a native of Capri, Italy, and the menu is decidedly Mediterranean. Blue Sky’s interior is homey and comfortable, with tin-plated ceilings, grey booths and a solarium in the back. From the get-go, service was friendly and attentive. For an app, I ordered the seafood martini, which was shrimp, scallops and calamari, diced and chopped and served in a cocktail glass with lemon vinaigrette. It was definitely tasty but my bro’s Moroccan-spiced grilled calamari salad was even better. Most of our party ordered the Chicken Saloniki — roasted chicken served with a potato pie — for a main course. Despite the fact the dish was named after the town in Greece where my grandmother was born, the general consensus at our table was meh — perhaps a bit dry. As for me, I scored big points by ordering the Spaghetti Bolognese, which was as good as I’ve ever had. Served in a heaping bowl with noodles and a thick meat-flavored tomato sauce, the dish was authentically Italian. For the pasta alone, I’d head back to Blue Sky. This place is solid if not spectacular.

This place used to be Spinnakers, which, while not a fantastic spot, had decent food and good service, particularly for large families. No more. At least the night we were there, the food was mediocre, portion sizes random, and service essentially non-existent. Sorry to see Spinnakers go…

One of the best brunches Ive had in a while. Had the Belgian waffle with the cheddar cheese omlet and home fries. All were delicious and the service was excellent. Especially the waffle, it comes with blueberries on top if your into that kind of thing. I also heard from a few people who thought the brunch was great as well. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for good food in sag harbour.

I was in the Hamptons, so I had to suppress my burger cravings and try and be healthy. So here at Blue Sky, I ordered myself a grilled chicken sandwich.(So what if it came with French Fries. I said I was being healthy! Let me be!) The portion was quite a bit larger than I would have expected for such a quaint and trendy-esque spot located in the Hamptons. But it was delicious, and I’m a fatty at heart so I scarfed it down with minimal fuss. My lady friend ordered up the crab cake, which was presented in a manner much more in line with what you’d expect from this sort of nice restaurant. Class all around. Not being big on fish myself, I can honestly say that the bite I had was most excellent. The place had a really homey vibe that made you feel relaxed and comfortable. It’s always nice to experience that side of the Hamptons as opposed to the insanity that can overwhelm the place thanks to the celebritards that DUI their cars into trees everywhere else.
