Watch your receipts very carefully and always cross reference them to your bank statement. I ordered to go at Bens Neighborhood Grill on Hodgson Memorial this week and the next day when the charge cleared my account it was for a higher amount than authorized. The person who works there added their own tip. Management didn’t return my calls but had the waitress call me. The waitress told me to come in and they would refund me the money. Once there she kept downplaying the situation by saying the guy«made a mistake», he made a choice to add that money. The excuses continued and again the manager never talked to me and I even gave him several days to call me after the situation in which he did not. Beware.

I grew up in Savannah, and used to frequent this cute hole in the wall with my family. I always enjoyed the people and food. I recently moved back from Charleston with my husband, and thought it would be nice to get take out from there. I remembered the chicken finger salad was good, and even though it was $ 11, thought that’s reasonable for a good salad. I asked for a lot of dressing. When I got it, it was filed to the top with wilted iceberg, with brown spots, a few average tomato chunks, four uncut chicken fingers, and no dressing. I called having expected a little more for the price. I was told by the manager that he would not replace the salad, or give me a refund. If I wanted the salad dressing, or the chicken cut up, I could bring it back, and he would do that, but each of the other ingredients for the salad would be a dollar. He also said the lettuce was fresh, and that the salad dressing was not his responsibility. He was very rude, and said that asking for a refund was insulting. And that he didn’t appreciate it, and hung up on me. This was the first time in my life complaining about a meal, and asking for a refund.

Great beer list, constantly rotating. They have something new every time I go in, which is often. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and great with beer recommendations based on what I like. The food is phenomenal. Pub fare, burgers, wings, fried chicken, etc. But very well done. Get the fries overlooked a little. Only drawback? No hard liquor.

Sarah was great as a hostess/server! Very welcoming when we thought the place could not accommodate us. It’s kind of small inside. The food tasted fresh and the grass fed beef was very good. Salad was fresh and very large, couldn’t finish it:)

We were exhausted from a day of sightseeing and didn’t want to go far, so looked for a place by the hotel. This looked like a place that locals would go so we decided to stop in. We had a huge lunch, so we weren’t overly hungry, but knew we had to eat something. The place is in a strip mall and sort of on the small size, but the service was great. It has a good selection of beers and a good size menu. I had the BLT. It was probably the best restaurant BLT that I have ever had. The bacon, and there was a lot of it, was cooked crispy and had a great flavor. The tomato looked like it was right from someone’s garden, very red and delicious. I also had the sweet potato waffle fries, soooo good. The Hubby had a Chili dog. He said both the hot dog and chili was very good. So if you are in the area, try them out.

I enjoyed the Greek burger for lunch. Burger and a beer came to $ 19 so it is a little pricey for every day lunch but quality is worth it. The dining room is well kept but not large so get there early in the evening as I imagine it fills up. Good beer list and had a nice conversation with the owner. Free wifi also important. I will return for lunch or dinner in the near future.

We went to dinner at Ben’s and couldn’t have been happier. With our family of five(Kids 11,9&2) and my 16 year old niece, we arrived around 4:30pm and we were greeted with fast and friendly service. The food was incredible and the price was very affordable! We even made it there for happy hour and had $ 2 off our beers! Excellent experience — I would definitely recommend!

Bens Neighborhood Grill & Tap is a pleasant surprise in Midtown, Savannah. Newly renovated with excellent beer on tap, great food, and weekly live music. The service is what separates this place from the others.

I love the burgers, fries and salads at Ben’s but the prices are really high for food. Great beer selection and those prices are great. Just can’t afford to spend $ 30 for two people for lunch.

I discovered this place over 20 yrs ago and at 1st the food was incredible. As time went on it started going downhill Fast so much so that I vowed never to comeback. Well years pasted & i mellowed so after reading a recent review I decided oh what the heck one last time won’t kill me. So we stopped in and ordered two burgers & a slice of cake to go and went home to issue a verdict. Let me say they’re back to doing what they did in the beginning, what made me fall in love with them from the beginning. To me it’s hands down the best burger in town and they use grass-fed beef. Yes it’s a bit pricey but at least here a side comes with your burger unlike other places I won’t name.

Great place, super friendly atmosphere. I can see myself visiting here again soon. Would love to see cocktails and some happy hour prices. Do love the the«Two Fiddy» Tuesday prices on cans. Apparently this place has been around for awhile. New look is good and more people should visit and post about this little gem hidden. Also should get domestics in the can for the Tuesday special. If you like spicy definitely order the Ghost Cheese on your food. Salut!

Renovations looked great, burger was decent. The establishment could use some experienced people. The cook didn’t know how to toss chicken fingers in hot sauce, not to mention the chicken fingers looked like they came precooked, frozen out of a bag. Handcut fries would be great too. Good selection of beer, I planned on staying and trying a few but was given my check before I’d even finished my first beer without requesting it. Seemed like we were being rushed at 8 o’clock at night. I tried to get the bartender to put on the game but none of the staff new how to operate the tv. The owner had the tv above the bar on preset showings that loop so I guess there is no watching live sports. Great looking place, you can tell they put alot into the renovations, if the food and service would catch up I would go back.

Service was excellent, food was on point, but the beer was the best! Loved seeing a craft beer joint in midtown. Ben’s did a really great job of revamping the whole place, will def be back!

I love Ben’s new renovations! & that he now serves beer and has a happy hour! I ordered the gyro and onion rings… lots of food for the money, for those who think it is pricey, It is a bargain for good quality food. If you want a better price go to McDonald’s

Another over-priced plain Jane food place. I guess their fixed expenses are the same as anywhere though so they have to charge what they need to pay the rent. I suppose their market is people who like plain food, and in Savannah that is a valid market. I got the shredded chicken sandwich. It was not seasoned or anything. Just chicken with lettuce and tomato. There were no unique sauces – just yellow mustard sitting on the table. They are also a place with TVs in the dining room. I’m sure some people are happy with all this, but it’s not for me.
