I purchased a Groupon and couldn’t wait to use it… however, when I called to make a reservation, the phone was either not answered with no option for leaving a message or when I could leave a message, no one called back. I lost the Groupon and never got to the restaurant. Horrible customer service.

Great food– great service! Would definitely go back. Excellent quality. Ambiance is lacking but that’s minor when you’re on a search for quality foods that support small farms!

With the mixed reviews on here I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I had a really good experience. Yes, it’s a storefront restaurant in a shopping center, but I think they did the place up nicely with what they had to work with. Our waiter was really nice and attentive. The food was good to excellent. Everything was really fresh. I had the pasta primavera with shrimp — the veggies and shrimp were super fresh but it was a wee bit bland. My partner had boneless rib with horseradish mashed potatoes and fennel. He agreed that while his was perfectly fine, it missed what ever it takes to push well-made into special. However, the crab cakes(while small, and our waiter warned us about the size) were terrific — mostly crab with little breading. And the flourless chocolate cake was divine — rich and dense. I’d go back for more of that cake and an espresso. We used a groupon and didn’t seem to be treated any differently like some reviewers here felt they were. The entrees were reasonable portions. It’s maybe a little pricey but the food was quite fresh as you’d expect at a farm-to-table restaurant.

Good place. Family of 4, had the two specials crab cake and salmon burger and both were tasty. Cappuccino was too strong for my liking but the coffee was good. My buckwheat pancake were OK but with their maple syrup even better. A bit on the small side so if you are hungry get three.

Sorry to write that we did not enjoy this place because of the poor value Wanted to give it a try for dinner since it’s in the neighborhood but won’t go back The prices are way too high for what you get especially in a shopping center . We left feeling that we paid a lot of money for nothing.

I feel terrible writing this, but I’m hoping that maybe the restaurant will get better as a result. We ate at Chef’s Table last night. It is in a strip mall in Scarsdale and the look is of a converted Chinese restaurant. The people are absolutely lovely — the man who seated us, and of course our server. We were there on a Groupon, and I jumped on it, because they tout«farm-to-table», and as a vegan, that’s music to my ears. But the meal started to go downhill because there were few vegetarian options on the menu, let alone vegan ones. I ordered the gazpacho which was the special and it was OK. It tasted fresh, but watery and peppery. Then I had the pasta primavera, and I was shocked. While the few vegetables did taste fresh, the dish was prepared terribly. It was supposed to be in a garlic sauce, but it was really a watery mess with a lot of pasta(which wasn’t fresh) and a few vegetables. My husband had their fra diavolo special and he said it was just OK. He wouldn’t order it again. I will say his salad with goat cheese and beets looked lovely. Overall though, I am sorry, and I wish them the best, but they need to work on their menu. And offering a $ 40-for-$ 80 food Groupon is terribly misleading. It makes you think this restaurant is higher-end than it is(you feel like you’re dining in a parking lot) and that the food is worth $ 80 when it barely is worth the $ 40.

The meat is spoiled. I took one bite and tasted the obvious stench, surprised! as it is a $ 30 dish. I took another bite, spitted out and left in the plate. The owner/chef walked by, looked at my spit and did not«have the courage» to ask or say anything. Yeh, he knows better than I do. He had the courage to bring it over and even claimed that this has been«freshly braised all day today» when i placed the order. My partner took a bite and blamed me not to send it back. Here is why, the restaurant charges a premium for a dish and should honor its price with a matching quality. If this was brought to me anyway, why it should be me to correct it! I will never go back again. I just consider that I threw $ 30 to a nasty restaurant owner. I don’t like this guy’s attitude and personality.

My husband and I went for dinner last night and the food and service was superb. First Susan, the hostess was welcoming and friendly. Stephanie(who I remembered from metro diner) was a sensational waitress. We had the clams, Rachel’s salad, duck and cappucino — all excellent. I am looking forward to going back and trying some of their delicious sandwiches for lunch. This restaurant is a must try — a real winner.

Great food, great service, slight mismatched with the décor. We had a wonderful server who was attentive, well-informed, polite with his suggestions without being pushy, and just gave us the most welcoming air to the place. The menu offered some fantastic variety. Big highlights include poached egg atop mushrooms, cod and kale entrée, and a paella special. Dessert boasted a terrific salted caramel sweet and possibly one of the best flourless chocolate cakes. The food and service were impeccable. The only disconnect was the décor. The laminated menus, the large front windows — they were fine, but they just didn’t seem like a good match for the caliber of food we were getting. A slight tweak to the atmosphere would easily make this a can’t miss restaurant. But if these things don’t matter to you, the food and service are already heaps better than most restaurants in the area.

We went here with a Groupon. The wait and reception staff were very professional and attentive. The food was excellent. They didn’t treat us any differently than regular price customers and did not rush us out of there. They gave us a nice table next to the window. I would recommend and go back myself.

We went with family on a groupon deal for the second time in 6 weeks. My last review was very complimentary — this time however we were sorely disappointed. The waiter was flippant and unhelpful which lead to problems throughout the evening. If I’m paying a lot(on groupon or not) I expect a level of professionalism and courtesy that was not forthcoming. He made no effort to serve people individually but instead passed plates over shoulders and across us. We seemed to be getting in his way and on his nerves. Starters were OK but cutlery wasn’t replaced and side plates not taken after starters were complete. In fact our main plates were cleared before the starters. With six mains, three arrived 10 minutes ahead of the other three. The cod had a strange base which didn’t seem to be the pasta listed on the menu and wasn’t terribly nice. The special seafood pasta sauce was good but the fish wasn’t and the muscles weren’t good. The risotto was bland in taste and appearance but the bread was actually OK. Deserts were bought out with one still on its paper base. There were 4 ordered, one was wrong that we got comped but when the correct order came, the bread pudding came was in a dish on a plate that it didn’t fit on, was clearly just out the microwave, was tepid and like the other 4 deserts, sprinkled in sugar to disguise taste and origin. Had this been a full price meal we would have complained. As it is we’ll not bother again. A real shame

Comfortable and perfect! Great to see this small meticulous Chef-Owned Farm to Table Restaurant thrive! Have been there for lunch; amazing soups, salads and sandwiches prepared to perfection! We recently had dinner for the first time, guess what… perfect! Shared appetizers, salads, and entrees. Rachel’s Signature Salad and Field Mushrooms with a poached Local Egg had amazing textures and superior fresh components! We were soooo very impressed with the Short Rib, Cod, Salmon and Duck Entrees! We finished with home spun ice cream on a warm granny smith apple galette yum! Oh, cappuccino was the best I have had in Westchester too… so creamy! Service staff are gracious and very accommodating without being overbearing. Cannot wait to return with a different set of friends to impress!

I have been to Chef’s Table many times and have taken my family and friends there. Terrific food. Healthy choices and you can taste the difference in the freshness. The service is good and it’s a very relaxing atmosphere. Some people on Unilocal complained about the service or pricing? Hey, this is not McDonald’s. You want food prepared correctly? This is the place. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes that I wouldn’t be able to make at home.

Open? Not Open? Rating is based on the fact that I planned a girlfriend breakfast this morning(during listed open hours) and when we met there, they were not open. No explanation signage. What’s up with that??? I have been there once before and it was lovely. Tasty food and a welcome l locale in an area devoid of bistro types. The strip mall leaves a lot to desire but hey… Please get your hours straight! We need more of you in the area.

The food is actually good but the kitchen took forever to prepare it. I would recommend it for breakfast as it is better than Metro Deli but that is not saying much.

Okay so I finally had time to sit down and write this review from last week! Okay so first off, my fiancé and I stopped into the Golden Horseshoe shopping centre to the trusted gristedes, where I visit one of my good friends! We started to get VERY hungry so we stopped in front of this small little eatery… I was very skeptical because of its location and also all the other failed establishments that had been their over the course of time, anyway! We proceeded in and the owner greeted us, he was very nice and comforting so he sat us at the table closest to the window, very cozy! So we ordered and we had the crab cakes, and mussels to start and OMG was it good, then we had the Rachel’s salad I believe it was. Whatever the name I wasn’t disappointed! We than had the duck breast and the seafood fra diavolo! I love the bite it had to it !!! After that we had to fit dessert in somewhere along the line so we had both the bread pudding and the flourless chocolate cake … This place is a diamond in the rough I will definitely come back! It was excellent! I read all the reviews while sitting and I don’t believe it. THANKYOU Chefs table for making my date special!

I can’t wait to go for dinner. I have been here for breakfasts and lunches and I was sooo pleased. I loved the french toast I had with and without the pecans at breakfast. The salads both times were so flavorful I didn’t need the dressing! Great place to meet and actually have a conversation with the meal. The music and the staff are perfect and the sound level in the room allows you to hear your guests! Loved it!

My cousin and I had a lovely lunch there on Saturday. The hamburger sounded good, so we both ordered that, with a side of their fries. The service was prompt and courteous. When our burgers arrived they were hot and very tasty. The bun was different and especially good. It came with lettuce and tomato. Definitely a winner, but the fries were phenomenal! I ordered them well done and they were perfection. So fresh and crispy. They will be a «must have» on my next visit. Chef’s Table was clean and nicely decorated. I recommend it.

Wow — what a welcome addition to the Scarsdale restaurant scene. I have only been to Chef’s Table for breakfast(so far) but a great selection of well prepared, beautifully presented and great tasting breakfast options. This is a real step up from the local diner fare. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Just got back from an excellent breakfast at Chef’s Table, and I can’t wait to go back. You can tell they use really fresh ingredients and take pride in the preparation. Everyone was extremely friendly and the service was great: very attentive but not overbearing. The place itself was very clean and cozy. The bacon was some of the best I’ve had: thick cut, flavorful and cooked perfectly crunchy. The home fries were like chopped up hash browns, kicked up with onions and fresh herbs. I’ll probably ask for my scrambled eggs to be a little less done next time, but I suspect most people would be happy with how they were. The eggs themselves tasted and felt really fresh, unlike watered-down stuff you’d expect at a diner. The pecan-crusted French toast made with challah was really good too. I’m a bit of a coffee snob, so having it coming out of a pitcher concerned me a bit after countless bad coffee experiences elsewhere. I prepared to load it up with sugar and milk to make it palatable, but it was actually really good! I drank almost two cups of it black with no sugar. Looking forward to seeing how dinner is!
