Prime rib was great. Service was awesome. Bradley in the bar area was best waiter we’ve had in a long time. Great job!!! Reasonable prices. Great food and on a busy valentines day too!!!

We have been to the dublin location several times and consistently had a good experience. Always had a mediocre meal at other locations until we moved here. Surprising as its a chain steakhouse and the service has been really good. They always bring me an extra soda without me even having to ask. The bread comes out hot and the prime rib tender. We have made this location a favorite weekly spot to eat. Other locations could learn from them on how to treat customers.

I’ve been eating at Black Angus restaurants for over 50 years. I grew-up and San Leandro, and my family and I ate at the BA in San Lorenzo for many years back in the 1960s and it was ALWAYS a stellar meal. They never seemed to have an off-day and they took a lot of pride in their food preparation and their service. As I grew older, I frequently ate at that particular BA restaurant and it was always a 5 Star experience. After I got married, my wife and I moved to Livermore, and found a BA restaurant in Dublin, and whenever we were in the mood for good prime rib, we ate a LOT of meals at that restaurant. When we moved to Discovery Bay, we still continued to make the trek to Dublin. Again, always a 5-star experience. A few years ago, a BA opened in Brentwood… a few minutes from our home. For the first several months, it was a 5-star experience and then it went downhill very quickly. So last night, my wife and I, hungry for prime rib, returned to the BA in Dublin because of our awesome experiences we’ve had in the past. Dinner started at 3pm, and since we wanted to get there before the crowds hit, we arrived at 3pm, and the waiting area was jammed with people, and several people were also waiting outside. At approximately 3:45, I wanted to confirm with the hostess that they did, in-fact start serving dinner at 3pm and she said that was correct. I asked her what time it was now, and she said about ten till four. Since I couldn’t see anyone sitting at any of the tables, I asked what the issue was. She informed me that they were in the process of a shift change. She put our name down on a raster and told us it would be probably another 20 minutes or so till we could be seated. So about 15 minutes later, our name was called and we were seated. FINALLY, after a 1 hour wait!!! Who does the scheduling at this establishment? The service was VERYPOOR by anyone’s perception, and it wasn’t even that crowded. I ordered the prime rib and lobster, and my wife ordered their 8 ounce prime rib. Both prime ribs were ordered BLOODRARE, as we always do. To our initial delight, both pieces were served blood rare. SADLY, the prime rib roast was NOT seasoned prior to cooking, so there was absolutely NOFLAVOR. We also ordered a sampler platter, and on a positive note, the sampler was VERYGOOD! My lobster looked good when it was presented, but sadly again, I guess it sat in the freezer for too many weeks and all of the flavor was gone. I can’t say that the lobster was bad, but it just wasn’t good on any level. I might add, that our prime rib, though it looked good but had no flavor as mentioned above, was about 50% fat and gristle., so that meant we dined on roughly 4 ounces of prime rib. SAD! Have ALL of the Black Angus restaurants gone downhill like the ones in Brentwood and Dublin? If so, maybe the corporate office should just close their doors. This is very disappointing to say the least. And what a gross waste of $ 88.41. We will NOT be returning!

Came here after a very very long day! Got service right away, Lauren was very attentive and took really good care of me. She has great menu knowledge and was more than willing to get me a taste of their amber beer when I asked about it. I had honey siracha wings as an appetizer. hella good.sweet with a nice amount of heat! My main course was the ½ lb prime rib, with a wedge salad, and a loaded baked potato. everything was amazing! Only thing is. I wish they had a few more selections of beer on draft, but that’s my only«complaint».the portions are large so I’m stoked to have left overs to take home. Definetly will return, and ask for Lauren again!

I have been to many Black Angus restaurants in the past, but this was my first time to the Dublin location. We went for my husband’s Company Christmas dinner. The reservations were for 2 pm on Sunday afternoon, and we had a group of 13. After arriving at 1:55 we were told that our table was not ready and to go sit in the bar, several of the group were already there and stated they had been there since 1:30. No seating was available in the very small bar area, so we all just stood around while the waitresses had to continously dodge around us when bringing drink orders to tables. Around 2:20, after being told our table still was«not ready», decided to order a Soda from the bar(& had to pay for it! Should have been free due to making us wait so long. Not greedy, just saying they could afford to offer us a free soda, not like we ordered expensive alcohol like Grey Goose or something?) A little while after that a Waitress dragged some extra bar stools in so we could sit down, in the server’s path, but we sat anyway. Asked about our table again around 2:30, told it was not ready because the people sitting there wouldn’t leave, but were told we could have a free appetizer with our food(at this point I was lobbying to leave and go elsewhere!) Finally at around 2:50, were told our table was ready, and went to sit. It was in the back corner, next to the bathrooms, and was just 2 tables dragged together. I said«really, it took 45 minutes to set this up!?» Totally unacceptable, but we all sat down anyway. Our drink orders were taken, and a couple of people ordered Rasberry Lemonade, after which the waitress quickly said«there’s No free refills on those!» I muttered, there Should be after making us wait like that! We waited a while, actually everyone was just happy to be sitting comfortably at a table. The waitress came back to take our food orders. On the menu it was not clear to me, and evidently to the others either, what came with the main course as we all kept asking the waitress«what comes with the meat I am ordering?» to which her answer was(several times) «Well, there’s 17 sides listed in the menu. Any of those.» At which point that person would then have to stop and look at the menu, again, to try and choose which of the«17 sides» we wanted, thereby slowing the whole process down. Had I been the server, I would have explained the menu system after serving the drinks, so most of us could have been prepared when she got back, instead of While we were attempting to order. I will mention, at this point, that the waitress was very nice, but seemed a bit overwhelmed(maybe had too many tables, or felt flustered because we had been kept waiting so long?) They brought us 2 appetizer plates with maybe 4 or 5 shriveled looking potato skins, 5 shrimps in a tiny cocktail cup, and a few slices of fried zucchini… I did mention there were 13 of us, and we were supposedly being comped appetizers? So we called over the waitress and ordered more. Our food order came out, and everyone got pretty much what they ordered, with one or two items forgotten. No one raved about how good the food was, but it was edible, and no one sent anything back. I had grilled Salmon, and it was pretty decent quality, but just grilled Salmon, with one little lemon slice, haha. I had to laugh about the evidently high cost of lemons! Later, several of us ordered desserts, and then had to call the waitress as she ran away to ask for coffee as well(she should have asked this?!) When the coffee came, again had to call her back for cream and sugar, and when the sugar packet containers were set on the table there were only 2 or 3 sugar packets, and all the rest were various chemical sweeteners, so we had to call her back again for real sugar, and called her back again for more tiny creamer cups. The desserts came and all looked pretty good, I had the cheesecake which was pretty good, though very cold, and kind of hard(like barely out of the walk-in) but still edible. All in all, I won’t say it was the worst experience I’ve had, but I was not particularly impressed with anything that happened, or that was served to me while at that establishment. If I had to choose, I will not go back to that location ever again, though, the only reason I was there today was because someone else was in charge of planning. The most positive thing I can say was that there was ample parking available, but I think I know why.

It’s been a very long time that I’ve eaten here, it was one of the very few restaurants open on thanksgiving and it was very busy, but the wait to sit was not that long for us. They had a special for turkey with all the fixing that night, but I chose the mushroom and bleu filet mignon, with onion rings. It was really good. The meat was cooked well, the little bit of onion rings that I was able to have were really good, the entire dinner was good. The waitress that served us, was really nice and congenial. Her name was Anhelica and she was really sweet. We ended up sitting at our table for a bit, catching up and my brother asked her if she wanted us to leave, so she could have another customer. She had been at work since 12:30p waiting on people, she was so pleasant and told us to take as long as we want, she wasn’t in a rush. It was 6:30 — 6:45p by that time. She really was sweet and did a really great job. I have to say everyone who helped us that evening did a wonderful job and were very pleasant and nice!

Hmmm, this is a hard one. I personally had an OK food experience. I love the grilled artichoke appetizer, and I chose the rib eye steak with green beans and au gratin potato. My husband(the steak snob) got the NY strip, and found it too sinewy, which shouldn’t be for the price. He wasn’t happy with his meal at all. The side dishes were tasty, but I have to say this. Cut the tops of your green beans!!! No one wants to have to spit those out while dining. It’s just lazy on the kitchens part. It wasn’t just one or two either, it was more tops than not. The service was OK. She did the job, filling drinks, getting food etc. All was fine until we got the check, and noticed that she had circled the«tip suggestion» area on the bill. With a heart. Oh really? Did you think we weren’t going to tip you or did you just assume we were too stupid to do basic math? It was rather presumptuous and insulting. My husband was totally fired up, since his meal sucked anyway. All in all, she got a 10 percent tip, because I’m a real bitch like that. Maybe she will learn some tact, but I doubt it. I imagine I just made her point even more solid. Oh well. There won’t be a next time.

Stars: 2.5 My boyfriend decided to treat out his family and me on a Sunday night. We were all indecisive on where to go. As we left the house, we saw an advertisement and decided to come here. There were 5 of us and we were seated in about 5 minutes. I asked for a water with no ice. Someone brought us 5 waters with ice and then our server brought me my water with no ice. I can’t finish two waters… Don’t waste cause we’re in a drought! :( You get complimentary sweet molasses bread to start off with. It was really good when warm. My boyfriend and I got the campfire feast for two(Total $ 42 with the coupon). It includes 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert. Appetizer: Filet Mignon Chili Nachos was big to share with everyone, but«filet mignon» was a bit misleading. Wasn’t it just ground beef? Was not impressed! Entrée: I got the top sirloin medium rare with the garden salad and mashed potatoes as sides. The meat was overcooked. a bit tough to eat. Mashed potatoes was delicious. Dessert: Sky-High Mud Pie(mocha almond ice cream on chocolate cookie-crumb crust) was yummy! I thought prices were pretty steep for the mediocre food(that took quite some time to come out even though they weren’t busy). Service was decent though. My boyfriend regrets coming here. We’ll stick with our beloved Texas Roadhouse!

Family Dinner at the Hacienda location in Dublin. I had the 8oz Rare Prime Rib with large Lobster Tail. The Au jus is still the same as I remember it, delicious. They cook better than Outback in Dublin for sure. The service was okay except the waitress forgot the raw horseradish that I normally eat with every bite of the prime rib. Wait time was about 35 minutes. The 16oz Rib Eye steak was ordered Rare but came out Medium Rare, which is what was preferred anyway. It was a good Family Dunner overall.

Came here with friends to kill time before a movie. I really wasn’t that enthused considering I don’t eat red meat. However, I was overruled with buddies so I go not expecting much. We decided to sit at the bar and I ask the young gal working at the Bar, Vanessa to recommend an appetizer for me. I ordered a side of fries and a cocktail. My other friends were a bit more obnoxious and couldn’t make up their mind if their life depended on it. I kept looking at Vanessa waiting to see if she would get flustered but to my surprise she maintained her professionalism and smiled with enthusiasm. Considering the annoying group I was with, I was impressed with the customer service at Black Angus She was very attentive to all us, even when my girlfriends couldn’t make up their mind. She was very familiar with the menu and made recommendations. She constantly checked back asking she can be of further service with a welcoming smile. Next time I visit the Bay Area, I have Black Angus on my list again.

This is our 2nd time eating hear and now I’m reminded why we don’t come often 1) Service = 1 Star as we had better they hardly came by at ALL to see if we needed anything like refills, bread, how was everything, bill to be paid Etc. We had to grab anyone we seen walking by … Very bad ! They did not want to honor our coupons: very strict !!! On wording of coupon, only one per table, can not be combined or substituted etc … Very strict !!! 2) my Food was ok !! but my wife reports her steak was dry, they forgot the sauce and mushrooms and the waitress took her time getting it and when the small bowl arrived the mushrooms where tiny and did not help the steak at all still Over priced and VERY small portions !!! = 1 star … 3) cleanliness = 3 Stars as it appeared ok, Dinning area looked ok kinda hard to tell with the low lighting, Bathroom door needed replaced or repaired as it appeared old and out of alignment but the inside had soap and towels which tells me the workers and customers are hopefully washing there hands We came to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday we thought Black Angus would have made it better and more romantic but since they did not seem like they cared(no birthday singing, took very long time for a cookie and poor service and small portions) my wife reports never again . P.S We even had a hard time to get somebody to take our picture. It was like pulling teeth and we felt like we where bothering them …

By far the best Black Angus in the Bay Area! The staff is friendly, the restaurant is pleasant, and they still give a free Cowboy Cookie on your birthday! Yum! Update: Just finished our dinner and I didn’t get my birthday Cowboy Cookie. Awww, shucks! :o(

So we were craving ribs so we decided to go to Black Angus, yes it was 4th of July and it was close to closing time but we still expected good service and food. The waitress was quick and friendly, although she did not seem that familiar with what cocktails the bar tender could make. So he came over(Mike) and was very friendly had helpful and said he could whip us up what we wanted. The waitress took our order, we did not get asked if we want water, maybe due to the drought, so I got up and asked her for one with ice and one without. They both came with ice. The waitress said they had run out of bread and she was sorry but nothing was offered in it’s place. My friend ordered a salad with her meal it was not delivered before the meal but with the meal and the waitress apologized for forgetting to bring it out. I had ordered my soup to go and asked her to bring it in a container, but it never came and I forgot about it until I got home. I had the chicken and ribs, the ribs were tender and good but the chicken was so loaded with black pepper it was all I could taste and it was not good. My potato was so small and had a little butter and sour cream on it, I asked for more and was brought about a tsp. more of each. My friend had the pork chop and it was not very tender, it was thick but tough to cut. We were not really pleased with how the meal went and the quality for the prices. I do have to say the bartender made great drinks and he was very good at service.

Oh Black Angus… I am reminded of why I don’t eat here anymore. It’s been years since I’ve eaten here, and I’m still not impressed. I came with 2 of my friends to celebrate a birthday. The birthday girl wanted to check if it was possible to order something off of the lunch menu(the steak sandwich on cheesy bread) at dinnertime– they immediately turned her down, but said they’d double check. The manager, Chris, came by, telling us that what some people do is order the cheesy bread to go and cook their own meat and make the sandwiches themselves. Ok, but HOW does that help US now when we are eating at YOUR restaurant? It doesn’t. So wtf? *SMH* I wanted to order the sampler as my meal, substituting the shrimp cocktail for cheesy bread. Rejected immediately AGAIN, with the waitress saying that the restaurant was very strict with their menu. Obviously, at this point, we get that. We ordered the«new filet nachos» for an appetizer. I definitely wasn’t impressed. Greasy tortilla chips and greasy Taco Bell like ground meat was very unappealing. It sounded delicious on the menu. But blech! We had a coupon for a trio meal of some sort– choose 3 meats and 2 sides for $ 17.99. It was good for 6 people, so we all ordered it. I got the ribs, chicken, steak and baked potato/onion rings for my sides. The onion rings were good. Probably because they’re fried and everything usually tastes better when it’s fried. The meat? Not so much. My steak was very bland and dry. Chicken was the same. Ribs weren’t really meaty. Because we had mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, the waitress brought us a BJ’s Pizookie– like cookie topped w/ice cream. That was good, although doughy. I won’t be returning here anytime soon if I can help it. It’s just bland, tasteless, overpriced food.

It’s been years since we’ve eaten here. I remember it being fairly good back then. After today’s experience, we will not be coming back! It’s a steakhouse, that’s their specialty. Guess what? They don’t know how to cook their steaks! The hubs ordered his steak medium rare, it came out well done no pink to be seen. My daughter’s steak was overcooked as well and tough as leather! I was afraid she’d choke on the thing and I’d need to do the Heimlich on her! The waiter did kindly have the kitchen re do the two steaks, but by the time the new steaks came out everyone else was done with their meals! The situation should have never even had happen if they knew how to cook a steak! At the end of the meal, we ordered dessert since I had a coupon for a free one. Still valid. The waiter tells us, they won’t honor the coupon because it’s Father’s Day! What the wha? The coupon didn’t have any print of restricted dates on it. Why not honor it? I would understand if it was clearly printed on it. LAME. Slow service, bad food, horrible experience. My poor hubs Father’s Day lunch was a bust. We’re sticking to our good ol’ standby and heading to Cattlemen’s where they know good customer service and know how to cook a good steak.

First time at this location but I can see it’s one and the same. The Black Angus chain likes to pull off fat for meat and water for alcohol. The only thing that’s ever good is the molasses bread and the giant cookie, sigh… Big groups are a no-no; they bring everyone’s food at different times, so either half of the table finish before everyone else, or half the plates are cold by the time the other half are received. Super chewy meat, wrong orders, cold and not so garlicky potatoes, etc. Don’t even get me started on portions size… At least our waiter was nice.

Came in today for round two. I haven’t been to Black Angus in months, but today we were in the area and we decided drinks and salad sounded pretty good at 2 in the afternoon as a belated birthday lunch haha. The drink menu is pretty diverse; they have the option of low-calories drinks and various beers/wines. I ended up having a Montana Mai Tai; it was pretty good, but a little too sweet for my taste. Not bad though! Pretty big and pretty good. It came out SUPER fast, which was pretty cool. As far as entrees go, I ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad(thinking I was being healthy) but it was packed with quite a bit of dressing, and online you will find that the whole salad is approximately 800 calories. Beware of the devious dressing!(That Mai Tai probably averaged 300 – 400) Friend got a steak of course, and said it was good! Our server was pretty nice, and she kept coming back, but the place was empty. Definitely better than the last time I came here. :-)

Probably wasn’t the best place to get something«to-go», but I wanted to try it out with the coupon. Amount of food given was barely anything in comparison to what you get dining in. Pair that with them being slightly rude on the telephone when ordering, it kinda leaves a sour taste. I mostly likely shouldn’t have mentioned a coupon, and with take out they probably knew they weren’t going to be tipped. Mediocre food, with sometimes rude service. It’s a hit or miss. My recommendation is to go when there is light traffic on the weekends with a coupon. The staff then are usually competent and friendly for the price.

I hate to say it but our experiences at Black Angus have been horrible and this location doesn’t seem to be an exception. The server didn’t bring us bread until after our appetizers arrived, she ignored us for nearly the whole meal except when we ordered and when we paid, and my food was gross. My husband ordered a burger and I had a salad and soup. My salad was nearly all toppings and barely any lettuce; I don’t want to eat all sliced tomatoes for dinner. The soup was really salty and I returned it for the other soup and that one was salty also and I dealt with an upset stomach the rest of the night. The culmination of the experience was just bad, even though it was no one persons fault. However, my virgin piña colada and my husbands black n tan was yummy.
