They are renamed Maya Teriyaki House if you want to visit them. Different name, same large interior with the large flat screen TV. The menu is basic teriyaki beef, chicken, beef ribs, salmon, shrimp and vegetable tempura, chicken soba, basic sushi rolls like the California, Crunch, Dragon, Avocado, Tiger. No more sandwiches on the menu. Pretty good fast food teriyaki for a Paramount neighborhood restaurant if you don’t want to travel too far.

2 ½ generous stars for this place. Plenty of seating room and a fairly decent sized plasma give the dine-in customers some comfort and entertainment whilst mowing down their fare. I looked over their menu and it was pretty much the standard as far as Japanese fast food joints go. You got your chicken/beef/salmon teriyaki plates, tempura, udon noodles, salad, a handful of sushi rolls, a few sandwiches(including pastrami?), as well as burgers and hot dogs. There was an item that stuck out at me though… Salmon Katsu. Most places like this will have Salmon Teriyaki and occasionally Salmon Shoyaki(salt grilled). But Salmon Katsu? Weird. I’ve never thought about breading and deep frying a salmon filet… I figured I’d either love it or hate it. I went with the Bento Combo version in which the fish came with California Roll, Mixed Tempura, steamed rice, salad, and Miso Soup. Methinks perhaps they over fried the katsu as the salmon was a bit dried out. Tempura was over battered which makes it each bite into an oleaginous grease party. The salad was meh. Dressing was decent, but I think they freeze their lettuce as I was surprised to find chunks of ice in my bites. California Roll was meh. Tiny sliver of avocado, small portion of cucumber, sparse on the rice, and way too much imitation crab. Needless to say, I didn’t finish. I reached my greasy factor maximum halfway through, forced an extra bite, and threw in the towel. Images of all are posted up. If I eat here again, I think I’ll be ordering a hamburger.
