Golden Corral

Food is cold or over cooked no flavor one waiter to the dining room. Pizza is soft and under cooked, sesame chicken is way over cooked and no sauce as well as the orange chicken, meatloaf is like dead loaf way to much ketchup and the meat has a sour taste, baked fish is over cooked and dry, lasagna is cold and pitiful, steak is over cooked all is well done and put in a pan, pancakes are hard.

We went there during our 2015 summer vacation to Smokies. Needed to find a dinner place near our hotel. The town has plenty of choices but this looked to be good choice considering we were late and we are a family of five.
The restaurant itself is nothing out of the world. Fairly standard American buffet with some Chinese as far as I can remember. The food was fine. Kids loved the desserts and the Chocolate Fondue.
I think there were many tourists like us. The place was quite busy and finding a table wasn’t easy. Due to the crowd, I think the cleanliness suffered a bit. It was tolerable and we were tourists after all. Pricing was average — don’t remember exactly now.

Ok, I have to admit that this is by far, the best Golden Corral I have been to. Not that I frequent GC on a regular basis (let’s call it once-​in-​blue-​moon), but this happened to be a last-​minute decision. It looked the same as all other GC restaurants. Yet, that is where it ended – because the food was very good! Even my wife (who is a «hard sell») was pleasantly surprised. We both came to the conclusion that this GC must maintain higher expectations because of the surrounding competition. But regardless of how you feel about «buffets» you might be surprised with this one.

The prices here were more expensive than the ones in Northwest Indiana, we struggled to find a clean table, and found a hair in a hush puppy. The manager on duty simply apologized and walked away. I assume he was going to throw away the ones on the buffet and make new ones but really don’t know what happened because I didn’t eat any more of them. On the plus side, the waitress was friendly and kept our drinks full and our table clear of used dishes.

This was my first experience for something like this. Short and simple. RUN! I wouldn’t waste my time but the reason I am putting this review is to warn people. Cleanliness is at lost. People putting food back after its been dropped on the counter. Not enough people hired to keep up with the flow. Every table should have sanitizer and disposable utensils. The whole place is a mayhem. It’s dirty and garbage is out in the open by food. Don’t use rags to clean the table. Nasty!!!

We were in town again, for three nights and ate every day at the Golden Corral. I felt obligated to do an update, because once again, they have improved greatly. The employees make an effort to do their best, and it shows in the quality of the food and service. The breakfast omelets are cooked to order, and are large and very tasty. The dinner steaks are cooked to order and are as good as any you will get in any steakhouse restaurant. The manager is present and walks around. He came to our table and asked if everything was ok. This is a well managed restaurant, and the employees reflect what must be a great place to work. As always, the food bars are kept very clean, and the hot food kept hot, while cold food is kept cold. A great place to eat for a reasonable price, while you are in Pigeon Forge. If you are in the military, show your military photo ID card, and they will give you a discount. Oh, and if you eat breakfast, they will ask you if you would like to take a complimentary to go cup of coffee with you.

I am giving this Golden Corral a 4 out of 5. The food was better than I expected and my steak was made just right… My only complaints are that the waitress kept forgetting to refill our drinks and space was somewhat limited for such a busy restaurant.

Always like buffets and Golden Corral one of the better ones. Went last night with family of six because we didn’t want the hassle of waiting to be seated and limited choices of standard sit down restaurant. As always they had a great selection for everyone in family at reasonable price. Not sure if breakfast is new item or not but my son Loved the option at 8 pm. overall had decent meal in a clean environment and were in and out rather quickly considering being in a very touristy area.

this is one of the best golden corral’s i’ve been to. The food was all really good. The romaine lettuce was really green and fresh, everything was good, esp compared to the more overpriced buffets on the strip

Traveling in Ten for couple days and stopped by this restaurant. The location is great, selection of the food was better than expected — fresh and good meat selections. We saw lots of tourists and many local families. The service was excellent!!!

We often visit GCs when traveling since we know what to expect. This one was one of the better ones we’ve been to. We arrived before the dinner rush. Everything was clean, the food was fresh, and the staff we interacted with was friendly.

Located near the end of the parkway in Pigeon Forge next to Motel 6, this Golden Corral brings in the hungry touristy types. The sign outside flashed «Buses Welcome» and they were not kidding! While eating lunch there, two bus loads came through the door. I watched in amazement as all of these people were accommodated without problems. The food selection was typical Golden Corral menu. The various items are fresh and replenished quickly by the staff. Not a high end eatery but certainly an economical and satisfactory place for a filling meal on the go.

It’s a Golden Corral, don’t expect too much. People trying to sell discount tickets for attraction in the lobby. 95 $ for dinner on Saturday night for my party of six with one 11 Yr old. Good variety, but pretty disorganized. There was a woman directing seating, so that was a plus. It’s just average, so just go with it.

This was a below standard for Golden Corral. Numerous items were empty and when I asked an employee, I got an attitude. This is a place only locals could like.

One word SUCKS!!! This Golden Corral gives all buffets bad names. Food was horrible had a Asian sesame chicken and it was like immature hockey pucks. Ordered the lobster add on pffttttt not worth the 4.99 up charge. I guess if you are on a limited budget and tasteless food is your style then this joint will suit you.

Why don’t they have Golden Corrals in Memphis? I was in shorts and tshirt, yet felt overdressed next to the Pigeon Forge tourist trap attracted specimens stuffing their faces. The restaurant was nicer than other branches, but the food is typical and average. I don’t think I’m fit for all you can eat places, since I fill up easily. Pizza was undercooked, the chicken a bit dry, the veggies drowned in their juices. The veggies on the salad were the redeeming quality, covered in dressing of course.

Not impressed. Kids cost $ 7 during the day. They are 5 and 6 so they don’t eat much. Not friendly service. Average food.

I’ve been to some pretty bad Golden Corrals and in comparison, this one was pretty good. We used a coupon from one of the many coupon books we had. My nephew (who is an extremely picky eater) loved their fried okra. Some of the veggies were a little underseasoned, but easily fixed with a little salt. The food seemed to be rotated frequently enough that nothing looked like it had been out for a long time. But this may also have been due to their being pretty busy the night we went. They had a pretty wide variety of foods. The dessert area was actually one of my favorites. They had a chocolate fountain, lava cake & even cotton candy while we were there! There was so much I wanted to try, but wasn’t able to as alas, my stomach is not big enough :(

Look, it is a golden corral. And it is a good golden corral. But that doesn’t make it a great place to eat. The food is OK, but nothing fantastic. The place is packed, the servers are attentive and friendly. Who can really complain about steak on a buffet? While it isn’t the greatest cut of meat but it is well seasoned and mostly cooked to order since there are so many people in line for it. The asian dishes were not very good (I mean what do you expect), but the traditional American buffet fare was what I expected with no complaints.
In sum: It is a great golden coral but it is still a golden corral. I’d spend my 13 bucks elsewhere for better food cooked to order, though I wouldn’t get as much of it.
