Well I will start off by eaying that the sandwiches were phenomenal! I got the West Side and my husband got a sandwich that had bacon and avocado, but I can’t remember what ts called. Anyway the bread was fresh, the ingredients were delicious, we loved the food. So why only three stars? Well for starters the service was both bad(as in not helpful) and very slow. We were there only ones in there, and there were three people behind the counter, and it still took forever. We also ordered soups and I’m pretty sure they forgot about them. Also, the soups were awful. Mine was pretty cold, and my husband’s(which came out later) was scalding hot and was uneatable. By the time it was only halfway scalding we were ready to leave. Also the soups just weren’t very tasty either. A real let down considering how tasty our sandwiches were.

Great sandwiches made fresh to order with excellent service! I had The Herman on honey wheat bread and it was delicious! Choose you style, meat, cheese and bread. Variety of choices to please everyone!

Everyone here is super friendly! I don’t live here but if I did it would definitely be a regular stop in for me. I ordered the Herman, which is their take on a Reuban, on jalapeño cheddar bread. It was delicious! It came with a pickle and I ordered a chips and drink for only $ 1.99 more! If I am ever in Sedona again I will definitely come back!

I love this little deli. The sandwiches are fresh and they make everything to order. The staff is friendly and it is very clean. If you want a sandwich the way YOU want it, try the West Side Deli.

This place is a gem! We’re from out of town and were looking for someplace healthy, and the Frathouse was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! Artisan cheese, melt-in-your mouth bacon that they prepare in house, freshly grilled mushrooms. So good! Staff is very friendly. Definitely worth the stop!

They have a super complicated way to order a sandwich and act rude if you ask a question. We were the only people there and the 3 guys who were working there acted like jerks until the owner returned. Our food was way overpriced and only average. I strongly do not recommend this place.

As soon as you walk through the door, your nose will tell you that you came to the right place to get an AWESOME sandwich! DH and I both opted for grilled sandwiches, the Maui Luau(honey mustard, ham, pineapple, white cheese, red onion) and the Mama Mia(Italian meats, cheese, onions, some kind of grilled veggies). You have a choice of bread. We selected 9-grain for the Hawaiian sandwich and Rosemary Ciabatta for the Italian, both exceptionally good! Sandwiches are about $ 10 each. There is no skimping on quality here! Meats are cured and smoked by the West Side Deli. Sandwiches served with a pickle spear on the side. Definitely a great place to get a sandwich(or soup, or salad…)! There is seating inside, and a kids’ menu.

Soup was delicious and our custom sandwiches were tasty. Everything was fresh. Small but good food for the price.

Don’t be mislead with the soup cup display. They only fill it part way due to the lid they choose to use, which goes down 1⁄3 of the way of the cup. The short woman(owner, I think) nervously giggled when she brought us our cup of soup, and I wondered why, until I opened it to find that they only had filled it 1⁄3 of the way of the LARGE cup size. When we mentioned it, she hurriedly said she will fill it up more. She explained that there was not enough soup left, and decided to serve it to us without telling us that they didn’t have enough. Thanks for serving us bottom of the barrel soup. Then when we got the cup back, they had only thinned it out with milk and so now it only tasted like warm milk. I mentioned that it just tasted like milk, and not the proclaimed mushroom soup, her response was«we don’t add any salt to our soup». More like, you didn’t add ANY flavor. I didn’t touch it past the first taste, as it was pretty disgusting, but i was more disgusted with the way she kept making excuses when we kept telling her we would rather have our money back(which she refused). The gluten bread they use for the sandwich was mushy but falling apart. After we’d ordered, it was 1 hour before their closing time but it took 30 minutes for our sandwiches and soup to come out because they thought they’d use the customer’s time to train the new employee. He was trying hard though, and he was the only one who had a good attitude. The owner lady gave the impression that she just didn’t care about solving issues that we were bringing up. I believe this business will continue to have issues as long as they cut and skimp. The only thing the girl cared about was the money part. This place is not special at all. I’ve come across other food establishments in Sedona that give good service AND good food. Save your money and go elsewhere. After my experience here, I could not believe the reviewer who said«I’m so glad they re-opened!» Must be a friend, or the owner herself.

I don’t understand why this place got a 4 stars. I had better sandwiches at a hospital cafeteria or a supermarket deli. The sandwich is very small and have very thin pieces of meat. For $ 9.99 ?? The quality of meat is not great and not a lot on sandwich. They do offer other fillers on your sandwich… I tried 3 type of sandwiches. NOTIMPRESSED. WHAT A RIPOFF !!!

If you come by here, make sure to get their in-house bacon. It’s sort of candied and really-really good. Stopped by with the family, it was a bit expensive but a good meal and everything is given a hands-on treatment so there isn’t any«from a bag of goop» going on here like other chain sandwich places(cough — Subway — cough)

I believe the owner helped us order our sandwiches. You could tell she loved her sandwich shop and enjoyed working and seeing new customers. She walked us through the ordering process and packed our sandwiches in a cute little brown bag with napkins and pickles(just like mom would). Sandwiches were DELICIOUS but pricey(something I found at food stop in Sedona). Overall I would recommend this place as the best spot to grab lunch to take with you as a picnic for a hike. Skip the pre-made Safeway subs and come here!

Very good sandwiches that are made fresh to order. A little on the pricey side but I guess you get what you pay for. Lunch can be really busy so do plan on waiting 10 to 15 minutes to get your sandwich. Also only open 10 – 3.

Ignore my previous review… this place is OPENAGAIN!!! Yeah! We are happy to have you, West Sid Deli, back in action!!! Ignore the basher(s), this place is yummy and the price is very fair, especially for the high cost area! Contrary to the one idiot poster, West Side Deli does NOT serve grocery store deli items, despite the fact they are priced about the same!!! It is WAYBETTER than the grocery store!!! The poster tries to compare prices and product. I know a lot of people are known to «smoke» in the area. Perhaps this particular person was so high they can’t tell the difference as they scarf their food down without taking note of the quality, or lack thereof!!! See you there tomorrow!!!

stumbled in by accident after WYATT and i watched a movie across the street(the«girls» were out shopping). kind of ironic actually since i bookmarked WESTSIDEDELI before our trip and messaged the owner about her feedback on a review. i don’t usually read those since they tend to be knee-jerk defensive or ooze smarmy in-sincerity, but couldn’t help but laugh ’cause i thought her response was spot-on. anyway, the boy was hungry and we stopped in so he could have a ham and cheese sandwich with bacon and avocado on toasted sourdough. the young lady at the register had a surprisingly difficult time figuring out what he wanted but(bottom line) the sandwich came out right and the boy enjoyed it. glad we inadvertently stopped in. life’s just full of happy coincidences.

the PERFECT casual lunch stop to re-fuel and continue hiking more trails in Sedona Canyons! it’s just a deli but the sandwiches are really good! first you choose your sandwich style, then meat, then bread type —«mission beach»(avocado, cheddar, & bacon) with smoked turkey on 9 grain bread: loved the nutty bread with sunflower & pumpkin seeds! they’ve got 2 small tables outside and some indoor seating as well NOTE: there’s one TV inside if you need to catch a game

I came here over 4th of July weekend and had such an amazing experience! My boyfriend and I were greeted almost immediately upon arrival; very friendly staff! It was our first time so we weren’t sure what we wanted. When I asked how the chicken salad tasted, the woman behind the counter let me sample it because it was made with curry. Uhm SO good! I chose the Frat House sandwich with their chicken salad on their delicious wrap and it was to die for! My boyfriend got the mission beach sandwich with chicken and he loved it. When we were finished we came back inside to throw everything away, where we were asked how everything tasted. Such a great experience, thank you so much! Definitely a great lunch spot!

For starters, this place is hardly a deli. Rather it is an overpriced Subway at best. In order to set themselves apart from that famous and popular national sandwich franchise, they’ve reversed the manner in which your order a sandwich — first you choose the«style» you want, then the meat and lastly, the bread, all of which makes no sense at all. Not a hoagie roll in sight! Sliced bread only. At least it’s fresh baked on the premises. You can take a loaf home for $ 8.50! They have a limited number of sandwich meats and combinations that barely approaches deli-ness. Not finding anything of real interest, I ordered a pastrami — «Herman» style which combines Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing which really makes it a «Rueban». My wife ordered their tuna salad which she proclaimed as very good. My sandwich was nothing special if not well under-stuffed — no comparison to the Carnegie Deli in NYC which is piled high with their specially prepared pastrami. Here? No chips. No pickle. No little side of anything. Not even a lettuce leaf garnish for goodness sakes. This was just plain old boring pastrami with melted Swiss and kraut. We also each had a soft drink — me a «boutique» Crème soda and my wife, lemonade in a bottle — the bill? Are you ready — a whopping $ 27 and change. Twenty bucks for two sandwiches and five bucks for two drinks plus tax! OUTRAGEOUS! I have ordered far superior sandwiches in sit down restaurants where I can also order a beer and be waited on with some environmental ambiance. Not here. No alcohol. No table service. I don’t care if you vacationing in Sedona and you expect to get reamed — they make as good or better sandwiches at Safeway and Basha’s for about half the price and you can add chips and a drink for a buck! This was the first and LAST time I will ever go here for a sandwich or anything else they offer on their menu. If you enjoy overpriced under-whelming sandwiches for an out of the ball park price, this place is for you. If not, visit the local Safeway, Basha’s or Weber’s markets for far superior quality sandwiches at a reasonable price. What I find most mind boggling is the number of decent reviews this places gets and I only read one or two that even mentioned price. There must be a lot of well to do sandwich eaters in Sedona.
