Horrible customer service. From someone born and raised in Truckee, this place makes our sweet little town look bad. I’ve been here multiple times and it’s the same bad service each time. As soon as you walk in the ladies look you up and down with no greeting. The two girls In the back were gossiping and not doing there job. The one thing that stuck out to me was the older woman with the tattoo up her neck, I was watching her the whole time from when I walked in to when I left. That whole entire time I saw that she was gossiping with her co worker(rolling eyes, cussing, hand gestures exclaiming she was mad about something) last but not least, the food is disgusting. I was excited to eat my bagel that took 20 minutes to toast and put cream cheese on??? It took that long because the ladies weren’t doing there job. It was cold and rubbery. I’m sad to say it but I will never return here and maybe one day in the future you will have friendly employees. This review is for the Truckee Bagel on Donner Pass Road

Wish I would have read the reviews first before going here. The customer service is horrible. Staff seemed it was a inconvenient that we were there. No greetings when we walked in. Never been there before so it took a minute for us to read the menu. One girl was a little out of it like she was super tired or on heavy medication. FOOD was amazing. Best dang bagel I’ve had in a long time. That’s the only reason this place got 3 stars. But I’m all about customer service and will not be going back. The owner should work on these ladies being professional, or hire a new staff that WANTS to work. I really hate giving bad reviews, I hope the best for this shop because the food is fresh and awesome.

I’ve been here a few times to buy bagels(which are yummy!) but finally got one of their bagel sandwiches(egg and bacon) and was very happy! It’s actually probably very bad that I now know how good these are… Also — I really have to add the bagels are great. I picked up a couple at the bakery in Safeway when I was in a rush and already in the store and they are bigger(which I don’t consider a plus sine they are too huge) but any of the«flavored» ones I tried(asiago, etc) were SO greasy. Like… yuck. Made a drippy mess in my toaster oven. Whereas any of the bagels I tried from Truckee Bagel were not greasy ATALL including any of the cheese ones. Service was super quick — very appreciated. I see myself getting more of these bagel sandwiches in my future :)

When ordering was met by a tatted women… not so friendly. I agree with others. Anything that remotely resembled courteousness seemed forced. The sandwich I ordered was smothered in sprouts with the buried meat being a thin cut of turkey. The bagel was rock hard. I can only imagine how hard the day old bagels they sell are.

I won’t be going back again due to the EXTREMELY unhappy and bitter ‘large sized girl’ who takes your order. Very sad!!! The owner needs to get her some help or get rid of her. I also noticed her give one of the customers a terribly hateful look when the customer asked for a side of sliced onion. Too bad they employed someone so miserable to take care of the customers. Perhaps putting her in the back washing dishes would suit her best. The bagels were OKAY tasting but the tuna one wasn’t what I expected or wanted. It was smoked/sliced tuna and I don’t care for smoked food.

Stopped in from weekend trip to Reno. Wow– service is the worst. No greetings, people look miserable and three of us ordering seemed overly complicated to the lady not paying attention at the cashier. The food was good and the smoothies were a nice treat. Overall for the price, save your money and head to Starbucks. Those folks at least act like they care and smile.

In town dqor business. Ordered bagels for a clients office and got one for myself. I was put off a little by the outright disinterest in making the customer happy when I watched the customer behind me make a simple request which was met with a facial expression and a disgruntled tone of voice say«I guess, yeah»… but what do you expect from a small bagel joint. Expecting unmatched service might be imposing too much. The bagels… AMAZING. This spot exceeded my expectations by far. I love onion bagels and this was the BEST I HAVEEVERHAD, amd a carb loving 29 year old has had a few and routinely travels 25 minutes in my town for a good bagel. I only wosh I loved closer than 2 hours from this heavenly bagel utopia. Because the bagels are so good, I could deal with a little lack of proper customer service training. Ok alot, I’d let them take a crap on my shoe for one if thoae bagels. Ijs. Try it. Onion bagel, cream cheese? Bacon & fresh tomato with black pepper. DELICIOUS. end of story.

Poor customer service. Staff can not answer questions about their menu. If you ask for an everything bagel they will try to give you a plain one. Do not get«smoked salmon» as it is nothing but a dry vehicle for salt and lots of black pepper. Very stingy with the cream cheese. Also, if you order to go they will hide a dripping, soggy pickle under the bagel so that when you set it on your lap, all that pickle juice can run out of the bottom corners of the box and soak your pants with brine. Just what you love, right? This place is LAME!

Hire people who want to work. Say hi to your customers and don’t get their order wrong. Act like you want to work and be grateful you have a job.

This place is so slow and chaotic. Getting coffee and a bagel took forever. And, they do not have any milk for coffee, only cream. Really?

3 stars for creative cream cheese flavors and smoothie(which tasted most like orange, rather than blueberry or strawberries) 0 stars for their stale-ish bagels It was a fine bathroom stop on the way home– much better than having fast food again.

This was the worst service we have ever had! The bagels were stale & talk about the meanest owner ever! He was so grumpy & mean! He even got mad at all customers coming in for silly reasons & no smile. No customer service or apologies for getting my order as well as others all wrong! The girls he has working there do not seem to know what they are doing. It’s so sad & the owner should be embarrassed. Trust me we will never recommend this place to anyone, come back & will tell all we know about the poor service we received.

Worst employees! Three girls, all little brats. Dont waste your time. The girls were more interested in thier boyfriends in the store that the customers. If you enjoy teenage girl attitude turned to eleven, be my guest.

These bagels are actually a lot like east coat bagels, so I love them! Perfect crusty outside and sightly chewy inside, yum. I see a lot of low reviews for service, come on people, you are in a bagel shop. Do you go to a bagel shop for the bagels or for the service? GOTHEREFORTHEBAGELS, THEYAREWONDERFUL!

I’m from«back east» and let me tell you one thing: it is hard to find a good bagel made in the traditional kosher style anywhere in CA. So, I’ll cut straight through the BS of all the rotten reviews I read on this place. They have the best traditional(boiled /baked) style bagels I’ve had anywhere in CA outside of LA or San Fran. If you know that a bagel is not just a piece of round bread with a hole in it, then you will totally appreciate this place. To be fair, there ARE better places to get a breakfast sando in Truckee, but there is NO place to get a better bagel(or 13 of em.) Let the haters eat Sarah Lee.

Truckee bagel, why the long face and low reviews?! My family and I had excellent bagel breakfast sandwiches there one morning. I highly recommend the Mexican one with avocado and pepperjack cheese, YUM! That day they were a little short staffed and we had to wait a bit for our food, but it was well worth it! Next time in Truckee I want to try a smoothie!

Truckee Bagel is where, as a chubby 16-year-old with a used Ford Focus, I used to go before school to get onion bagels with extra cream cheese. What? Back off. That location was off of Mt. Rose Hwy in Reno, so it couldn’t have been the original. The bagels are generally good, always fresh, and the cream cheese is never lacking. I didn’t like the Bagel + juice bar combo because it made me feel instantly guilty for eating my weekly allotment of carbs, and it was run by a high schooler who seemed to need tripple-repeat clarification for everything we ordered(which was just two toasted bagels & cream cheese!). Also, what’s up with toasters not adequately toasting these days? I’d order it toasted twice next time!

Usually when I go to a new place, I ask whoever is helping me what their favorite item on the menu is. The person helping couldn’t really answer the question… For good reason. I had«the sunburn»(mostly because nothing on the menu was that appealing). It was mediocre. Nothing you couldn’t make at home. It wasn’t disgusting by any means, but nothing about this place will bring me back. Mind you, I do not have the highest expectations of places like this. That being said… none of my expectations were met. Service was abysmal. Place has a lot of potential… not meeting it at this point. Need to have products and service that stand out.
