Great casual dining spot at the J W Marriott resort. The halibut fish & chips are terrific. The service is friendly without being intrusive. The seafood is fresh and the meals are nicely presented. We have eaten here five or six times and have never been disappointed.

Super solid fish tacos(tried the lobster and the swordfish) and the Cucumber Jalapeño margaritas were the bomb!!! So happy to Lunch here. Basic casual eatery at The Marriott with outdoor seating.

Not one trip to the desert goes by without a visit here or one of their sister restaurants in La Quinta or Palm Springs. Always fresh food, served with a smile. It does get crowded on weekend nights, so I recommend going during off hours. My personal favorite is the calamari steak but let me tell you the fish and chips are to die for, too!

Poor service, wine list missing multiple wines(the kind you can buy at the grocery store for $ 8), dried fish, mediocre tasting tacos. Overall a B– meal with what attempts to be a A level price. Oh well.

Great fish! This is probably the best(only?) seafood restaurant on the resort. The grilled or Cajun fish tastes great! We ordered calamari as an app and it was great. They have a small wine selection but I chose the local Napa valley red and it was great. Others at my table had an assortment of local beers and they said it was good as well. Would go back again if it makes sense!

Call me biased, but this ISTHEPLACE for fish n” chips and other great fish dishes. Sometimes I come here for sushimi(which is delish) or a fish sandwich which is incredible. Try this place or don’t, more for me!

ORDERTHECUCUMBERJALAPENOMARGARITA!!! You won’t regret it. Very refreshing with just a hint of spice, really great for those of any palate. The Baja Fish Taco($ 3) on happy hour(M-F 2 – 6), was insanely delicious. Breaded fish, slaw, pico, and a tarter dressing. Oh, just so yummy. Melted in my mouth! I wish I ordered 2. Instead, I ordered the crab quesadilla from happy hour $ 8. It was good as well, but not as good as that Fish Taco oh yummmm. Anyway, the quesadilla from the happy hr menu is large enough to satisfy your hunger craving for sure. So, go, try it and order the cucumber jalapeño margarita and the Baja fish tacos. Go ahead and make it 2 of each. You won’t regret it!

Everything about my experience here was awesome! The customer service started when we called trying to find the place. What’s not apparent from following the GPS is the fact that this place is located on the actual property of the JW Marriott. When we arrived to the JW, things got complicated finding the place. We called and a sweet lady answered and pleasantly gave us directions although there was lots going on in the background. Directions to actually find the place and what to look for were spot on! Ambience at the JW was breathtaking! Pools, stores, lights etc. we came here in the evening so everything was very pretty. It was 5 of us. We got seated quickly, outside on the patio like we requested. No hassles! Menu had lots to choose from. Not many non-seafood options, but it’s to be expected. Talitha was our waitress. Her demeanor was welcoming and she did everything to accommodate everyone’s request from giving options for what we had the taste for to remembering there were specials that we overlooked. She was awesome. I would definitely recommend the food and the service. All top notch.

5 stars for everything tasteful & fresh. I’m rating this place for lunch. Well hidden place in back of Marriott with a fantastic view. I’m a clam chowder connoisseur and this place has one of the best. David our server suggested the wine(excellent call David since I wanted to argue with you –I didn’t want Sauvignon Blanc-ha ha) AND to get the Halibut fish & chips which was excellent and a worthy up sell from my favorite: cod. Side salad was beautiful and huge portion.

Not all other employees were as pleasant to speak with. Sat in the bar for quick drinks before we decided about dinner and the supervisor gal who served us seemed«put out» a bit at our questions. Not sure if she was having a bad day or what, but we definitely noticed. Wondering how one gets to be a supervisor in a «people-serving business» with such a demeanor? Oh well… we likely will not be back.

Zero stars? Yes. One of the worst dining experiences I have had in the last 20 yrs. — 40 min wait for food with no server interaction during the wait — Empty drinks on the table during the entire meal — meal comes and one person out of 2 adults and 3 children has silverware — mahi mahi entrée is completely inedible. I wouldn’t serve it to my dog. — wife’s veggies side item looks like it came off a returned plate from a week ago. — did I mention only 1 fork on the table? This is still after asking twice more after the food was delivered. I have three small kids(7, 4 and 2). The 7 yr old ended up with the fork(rightly so). The 4 yr got along for about 3 min and then demanded a fork. Can you blame her? All the while, my wife sits patiently waiting for help. I had already sent mine back. Pathetic. Nothing what you’d expect for the top line of marriott hotels, JW Marriott.

Fish Tacos! Fish Tacos! Fish Tacos! Yes, they are REALLY that good! Almost sure they’re the best I’ve ever had! Two tacos are plenty and filling. Served with cole slaw and chips(wedge cut seasoned fries). We also ordered the garlic bread for an appetizer— good but not amazing. Quick service and friendly staff. Take advantage of the Unilocal deal and receive 10% off your bill.

I got the grilled sea bass with sweet potato fries and fresh vegetables. I was expecting a sandwich but it was just the fish. It was bland and tasteless and the food got cold as soon as it was served. Only the view was good, overlooking the pond. Not gonna come back.

Been here for lunch a couple of times, never dinner. Nice selection but service is a bit sketchy, especially for a JW Marriott property. The items are mediocre — more like a fish sandwich diner. Maybe it’s more interesting at dinner. The fish tacos were very good tho, and the fish and chips is light and crunchy as they should be. If it wasn’t on the way back from the spa, I’d probably hold out for somewhere off property.

Another A-Ok! Spot for me! First and foremost, 5 stars for the hostess. We did not have reservations this Valentine’s Day weekend but the hostess was very sweet and told us if we could wait for about 10min. She had the perfect table for us. As promised, she sat us near an opened picture-window that overlooked the water. 5 stars for our server Stephanie. She was so fun and upbeat, we took her suggestion and ordered the ahi poke appetizer and the Fisherman’s Catch to share. The large portion of poke, fresh and full of flavor, was a great starter! The Fisherman’s catch: A generous mix of fried oysters, cod, shrimp, calamari and scallops accompanied by fries and coleslaw also delish! My only complaint would be the tarter sauce. I found it to be heavily mayonnaise-based and lacking flavor. Also, cocktail sauce could use a dab of fresh horseradish IMO. We brought our own bottle of Zin from DeLoach vineyards that we picked up on our weekend trip to the Russian river and paid the $ 15 corkage fee… totally worth it! The zin paired nicely with our food. A truly memorable experience and since 5 stars is for«the best I ever had» I have to be honest with myself and say this place was better than most casual seafood dining experiences. I would gladly go back.

We experienced the little boat ride at the Marriott but unfortunately chose the Fishermans Landing for dinner. While the staff were friendly and the service okay the food was definitely not up to a standard one would expect in a Marriott hotel. The tartar sauce which accompanied my seafood was aweful. We definitely would not recommend this restaurant and given its fabulous location cannot see why, with better culinary management, this restaurant could not be outstanding!

This was news to me, but it appears that HH is huge in Palm Springs/Palm Desert. It may have something to do with the huge retiree population. That being the case, my bro in law suggested we pop over to the JW Marriott for HH. He thought maybe the Lobby Bar. We sat down and asked if there was HH. No, but you’re welcome to order from the both drink menu and the appetizer menu. Nah, too rich for our taste. Where’s HH on the property? It’s at Fisherman’s Landing. We hustled over as its now 5:30pm. HH ends at 6pm. We asked the server what her faves were — the calamari and the Cajun lamb chops. Both were great. The lamb chops were cooked medium. And seasoned. Mint jelly and ranch dressing on the side. We decided on more appetizers — prime ground beef sliders, more lamb chops, and more beef sliders. Service was prompt. Food was piping hot. Direct from the kitchen to our table. The calamari was good but as we kept eating, we thought too much breading. Total HH $ 116.00 in tax & tip for party of four. Less expensive than if we had sat down for dinner.
